2
It's really good to be here,
3
and I want to first acknowledge these students,
4
because this is not easy when you're a student.
5
It's not even easy when you're a professional.
6
So can we give these guys a hand?
7
Thank you.
8
I'm here to talk to you about two things that you would think just do not go together.
9
Those two things are emotional intelligence and the laws of attraction.
10
I was talking to Dr. Thomas the other day when I came for the rehearsal,
11
and he said, well, Doc,
12
emotional intelligence, isn't that being aware and having clarity about your feelings
13
and the feelings of other people when you're in the midst of a set of circumstances or a situation with them?
14
And I said, yeah, that is definitely a definition for that,
15
and a very accurate definition for that.
16
But the truth about emotional intelligence goes far beyond having just clarity about people.
17
It's clarity about situations, circumstances.
18
Why are you there?
19
When you stop and think about,
20
I'm in this situation, I'm in the midst of something.
21
Now, what is that something?
22
And more than likely that something is a set of circumstances
23
or a dilemma you may even encountered that you attracted into your life
24
and that's where the laws of attraction come to meet emotional intelligence.
25
Like attracts like.
26
These things that you expect come to you.
27
What we believe is that if we say some affirmations,
28
if we take a moment and visualize something,
29
do a vision board or something of that nature.
30
That's what's going to happen, but not true.
31
As a matter of fact,
32
if I say right now,
33
do not think of a chimpanzee wearing a red tie and a blue and white pinstripe suit,
34
whatever you do, do not picture this chimpanzee wearing this red bow tie and this blue pinstripe suit.
35
What do you keep thinking of?
36
The very thing that I told you,
37
don't think about because that is where you are putting your emotion
38
that energy plus motion and the more emotion you pour into anything the more of
39
that thing you receive in other words you can say one thing
40
and do another and as we well know many of us typically say all the right things
41
but do we do them if you don't believe me go to somebody's house
42
and look at all the dusty Look at all the diets that they tried.
43
Go to a gym and look at the people that signed up
44
that are no longer coming because what we have done is we've taken the laws of attraction and misapplied them.
45
We don't take serious the things that we feel we deserve enough in order for them to manifest into our lives.
46
And how do you stop that?
47
Real simple.
48
Monitor what you feel.
49
What you constantly think about,
50
that is exactly what you get.
51
If you keep thinking, my luck is never,
52
everybody gets it but me.
53
I'll never have that, I'll never live in that house.
54
That's for them, whoever them or those people are.
55
When you constantly think about how much bills are,
56
what do you end up with?
57
More pink slips, more bills.
58
When you constantly think about,
59
I don't wanna gain any more weight,
60
or I need to lose some of these bad habits that I have.
61
I wanna stop smoking.
62
I'm not gonna smoke.
63
What do you do the minute the pressure hits?
64
You go get a cigarette and you smoke again.
65
You get frustrated and you eat again.
66
And as you continue to do these things,
67
your thoughts and your feelings equal the manifestations that you get in your life.
68
Here's the million dollar solution to that.
69
First, monitor what you think about.
70
your mind, and you know,
71
there's a lot of theories around this concept,
72
but I'm going to tell you this.
73
Everything that is seen comes from that which was not seen.
74
That chair you're sitting in,
75
the clothes you have on.
76
Right now, with somebody's idea at one time,
77
somebody figured, I don't know,
78
a long time ago, guys should wear a tie.
79
You know, we figured somehow that,
80
you know, going on horses wasn't enough.
81
Maybe if I can build this contraption,
82
I could fly like a bird.
83
Everything that we do started out in the unseen.
84
And someone called those things that are not as though they are and brought them into manifestation.
85
But here's the catch for you and the solution.
86
You must understand that conscious thinking is not your solution.
87
Conscious thinking is typically reacting to some set of circumstances.
88
It's typically paying attention to that which is before you.
89
That subconscious thinking, you will associate that with stuff like,
90
have you ever driven home from work and you don't even remember driving home because something was just on your mind?
91
Or you automatically get in the car and you just check for something
92
without even paying attention to what you're doing
93
and your subconscious mind is the part of you that drives the outcomes in your life.
94
As you learn to master being sensitive to circumstances,
95
paying particular attention to the nuancical things,
96
as we call it, the little things,
97
if you stop worrying about what happened in the past
98
and feeling guilty or being anxious about what may or may not happen in the future and operate in right now,
99
you will train your subconscious mind to begin manifesting the things that you truly desire.
100
And a short way of putting this is everything in your life happens for a reason.
101
Your responsibility is to look at these things in your life and ask this question, why now?
102
Why is this person getting on my last nerve?
103
Well, they're probably getting on your nerves because there's some part of your character
104
that is being reflected back to you through them that you need to work on.
105
We get frustrated and angered and almost just discombobulated by that which we do not understand.
106
You have to be willing to take the time in every moment,
107
every situation in your life and examine it for its meaning.
108
You have to examine it for its purpose.
109
You have to examine it to see what is this supposed to teach me right now?
110
In my practice, something that I constantly tell people that I'm either speaking to in lectures like this
111
or even in my office,
112
is to stop being so reactive and become proactive.
113
Don't wait to talk, truly listen.
114
Don't just see things, look at them.
115
You know, when you hear something,
116
you're perceiving it at the expense of all the white noise or the debris that surrounds it.
117
When you look at something,
118
you are deliberately ignoring things that otherwise could distract you.
119
It takes effort to be successful,
120
But the greatest effort is mastering how do you use your mind.
121
As we evolve, and I'm not getting into some religious stuff,
122
so there will be no offering.
123
You don't have to panic.
124
But we came from somewhere.
125
We received a greater source and conceived when our parents decided to confirm that.
126
But my belief is before we get here,
127
we made a decision why we were coming.
128
And we came to experience the contrast and the challenge that everyday life presents to us.
129
See, your creator, which you are a co-participant in that creation,
130
is smarter than you think.
131
As a matter of fact,
132
you can figure out exactly what everything means in your life by asking one question,
133
one word, why?
134
And it's okay.
135
You know, even in dating,
136
ladies, it's good to look at a guy and say,
137
well, why are you here?
138
What is it that you are supposed to teach me?
139
And not thinking, he will probably tell you the truth.
140
The same thing is true about the things that you're trying to court in your day-to-day life,
141
in your career.
142
Ask yourself, why am I doing this?
143
What is motivating me to do this?
144
Why do I feel the way that I feel about what I'm doing?
145
And you know, you do not have to wait for an answer.
146
You can get an answer if you shut everything down,
147
get in a quiet space, and simply meditate.
148
And I don't mean low disposition going um.
149
What I do mean is taking the time to be quiet,
150
to be still, to allow your circumstances to speak to you in such a way that it resonates at the core.
151
You remember I said emotion.
152
It's kind of like that Geiger counter when you're looking around for a metal object.
153
And the farther away you get,
154
the farther away the chirps get,
155
but the closer you get,
156
the closer those chirps get.
157
And the way that you can parallel that to your spirit speaking to you is the better you feel about it,
158
the more you should do it.
159
And if it doesn't make sense to anyone but you, all the better.
160
Accept the facts, but never,
161
ever confuse the facts with the truth.
162
Seek the greater truth.
163
You know, anything that anyone has ever done that has required more caused that individual to confront themselves.
164
They confronted their fears.
165
They confronted other people.
166
They confronted culture and had to make a decision that,
167
you know what, you said I can't.
168
The system says I can't,
169
but something inside me says what?
170
I can.
171
And when you seek the greater truth,
172
you get into direct alignment for that very moment,
173
that very reason, that purpose that causes your emotional intelligence and the laws of attraction to become one.
174
As they become one, you will find this sense of passion resonating,
175
causing and stirring up something inside of you.
176
As that passion is stirred up,
177
your purpose then just comes forth.
178
You know, there's this thing.
179
If you ever watch a football game,
180
you don't see the guy sit there and wait on the ball to come.
181
And you don't see the quarterback throw it after the guy's downfield right
182
when he snaps the ball and that receiver takes off,
183
that ball is in the air.
184
Sometimes you have to run on faith.
185
You have to run not seeing the outcome,
186
but just knowing that there will be the result that you desire.
187
And as you feel, as you believe, you will receive.
188
Because after all, that which you seek,
189
ladies and gentlemen, that which you desire,
190
that which you long for, is equally seeking you.
191
Have a great day.
