1
Let me ask you a question.
2
Are you executing a predefined plan or are you reacting to internal pressure?
3
Because here's the truth.
4
It's not the market that makes traders lose their FTMO accounts.
5
It's unmanaged emotions.
6
My name is Bara and I'm a performance coach here at FTMO.
7
In this video, I will show you how professional trading differs from emotion -driven execution,
8
how to recognize the warning signals and how to shift back into a structured professional approach.
9
Many traders believe consistency comes from strategy.
10
In reality, it comes from controlling your behavior.
11
Most traders do not intentionally abandon their rules.
12
It usually happens gradually, and often without noticing.
13
You start trading without a clear plan, because it feels right.
14
You increase a risk after a win.
15
You enter trades out of boredom, fear, or the need to feel in control.
16
At that point, decisions are no longer based on execution of your plan, but on emotional reactions.
17
Let me give you a real -world scenario.
18
A trader starts with the solid rules.
19
Defines risk, clear setup, calm execution.
20
Then a losing streak hits.
21
One loss triggers frustration, two losses feel personal, and after third loss, a new thought appears.
22
This next trade needs to work.
23
Position size increases, the stop loss gets ignored, the goal is no longer quality execution.
24
The goal becomes emotional relief.
25
That is the moment trading shifts from structured execution to emotion -driven behavior.
26
Professional trading is driven by rules, data, patience and risk management.
27
Emotion -driven trading is driven by urgency, fear and the need to feel better.
28
Here's the key psychological difference.
29
Professional traders work with uncertainty.
30
Emotion -driven traders try to escape it.
31
A professional trader accepts that any single trade can be random.
32
An emotional trader needs this trader to win.
33
For a process -driven trader, losses are data, boredom is normal and emotions are warning signals.
34
For a motion -driven trader, Losses feel personal, emotions drive decisions, and risk becomes a way to regulate stress.
35
This is not a character flaw.
36
It's the human brain under pressure looking for relief.
37
The solution is shifting from an emotional mindset to a process mindset.
38
That means having a written training plan, predefined risk, clear entry criteria, and ending the session when limits are reached.
39
These are rules that protect you from yourself.
40
Consistency is built by creating structure and respecting it, even when emotions push in a different direction.
41
Long -term consistency comes from awareness.
42
Keep a simple journal.
43
Track patterns.
44
Notice what triggers emotional execution, such as boredom, losses, or overconfidence.
45
Support your performance with a proper recovery.
46
Sleep, movement, breaks, and stress management all matter.
47
Professional trading is a learned skill.
48
It is the ability to notice emotional reactions and return to process before they take control.
49
Here is a simple self -check.
50
When trading, ask yourself.
51
Am I taking this trade to change how I feel?
52
Do I want a quick fix?
53
Do I feel urgency, frustration or pressure?
54
If yes, it is not about the market.
55
It's about emotions.
56
If you want to help identifying where your trading shifts away from process
57
or how to build a system that protects your execution, this is exactly what we work on in our coaching sessions.
58
Because professional trading is a business of probabilities, structure and discipline.

About This Lesson

What is the Shadowing Technique?

Shadowing is a science-backed language learning technique originally developed for professional interpreter training and popularized by polyglot Dr. Alexander Arguelles. The method is simple but powerful: you listen to native English audio and immediately repeat it out loud — like a shadow following the speaker with just a 1–2 second delay. Unlike passive listening or grammar drills, shadowing forces your brain and mouth muscles to simultaneously process and reproduce real speech patterns. Research shows it significantly improves pronunciation accuracy, intonation, rhythm, connected speech, listening comprehension, and speaking fluency — making it one of the most effective methods for IELTS Speaking preparation and real-world English communication.
