1
There is a bus ticket that takes you all the way from New York to Los Angeles.
2
One ride, 3 ,000 miles.
3
It takes days, and most people say they wouldn't wish this trip on their worst enemy, citing delays, lost luggage, no sleep, and dangerous interactions.
4
I looked at the route and it looks beautiful.
5
If the reviews are true, this is a terrible idea.
6
But there's only one way to find out.
7
Let's get on that bus!
8
Beep.
9
That was me, I made that noise.
10
I didn't know how else to interrupt the song.
11
This is our bus, it looks awesome, and now that we've boarded, let the adventure begin!
12
I am on the cheapest available seat on this bus.
13
And we're off!
14
The journey across America on the longest bus ride has begun.
15
this bus.
16
The first leg of this trip is from New York City to St. Louis, Missouri.
17
It's 22 hours until that stop.
18
It's also completely silent on this bus.
19
No one else is talking.
20
I feel like I'm screaming at the top of my lungs.
21
Now is probably a good time to introduce you to my secret mission, the Oceanic Exchange.
22
Basically, I just got this cup and went to the Atlantic Ocean before I left.
23
I filled it up with ocean water, and now I'm trying to see if I can bring this cup all the way to the
24
Unite two oceans that have been separated by thousands of miles of terrain.
25
I just cannot spill this cup of water no matter what.
26
I am already a little stressed out because of how bumpy the ride is.
27
Hopefully this is just a New York City thing.
28
And to make the oceanic exchange even more of a challenge, I removed the lid from the cup before boarding the bus.
29
I'm basically an adrenaline junkie.
30
I regret doing this.
31
This is our domain for the next 22 hours.
32
I think it's time to introduce you to our seat.
33
This seat is so basic.
34
That's what it's called on the ticket.
35
It has some pretty good leg room.
36
My backpack and stuff fit in front of me.
37
There's a cup holder big enough to fit the Atlantic Ocean, storage net, The ceiling has air conditioning and a personal light.
38
Mine's not working, that's okay.
39
I put my travel pillow in the overhead bin because I won't need it until I sleep tonight.
40
But the best part about this seat is that it is just feet away from the bathroom.
41
Bus bathroom tour.
42
I'm in the bathroom on the bus.
43
There's a toilet, that is ideal.
44
I think my favorite part is this handlebar that you grip onto when the bus is shaking and you're peeing.
45
It's probably dirty though, but luckily there's hand sanitizer.
46
The next long stop is in like five hours.
47
Honestly, I don't think I've spilled any of the water yet.
48
So fingers crossed.
49
I Know we kind of just started but I feel like this trip is gonna fly by
50
America is a big country though, and I don't know if you noticed this guy right here, but in my last video I included my personal Memoji, but all the comments on the video were just making fun
51
of my Memoji No one was even talking about the actual video.
52
They were just commenting on my Memoji.
53
So I have a new one pack water that I can actually drink, but luckily we're at our first rest stop.
54
Time to stretch our legs.
55
Our first rest stop, that's our bus.
56
We're somewhere in Pennsylvania.
57
I needed water.
58
I was getting desperate.
59
I was close.
60
Wow.
61
This place is awesome.
62
This rest stop has a 7 -eleven.
63
What?
64
Y 'all already know what I'm looking for.
65
Oh my gosh, there it is.
66
Joyride! That is so cool.
67
I already got some when I was in New York City, so I don't need any more, but that is so cool.
68
I had to put down my cup to record myself getting snacks for the ride.
69
Also got a latte with a cup holder, and I made it back to the bus with time to spare.
70
A few more hours until the next stop.
71
So far, so good.
72
I successfully got back on the bus and started drinking my latte when I realized I forgot to buy water.
73
It might be a while until the next rest stop, but I'm all right.
74
It's going to be okay.
75
Someone from Texas being able to see snow like this feels truly magical.
76
I watched the sunset on Pennsylvania and I even got to take some photos on my disposable camera.
77
It is night time and we made it to Pittsburgh.
78
I just didn't realize this is when things would start going wrong.
79
This is by far the longest stop of the day.
80
They have to service the bus.
81
First things first, Stretch.
82
Honestly, I feel a lot better.
83
Next, Chuck and I need to find dinner.
84
That's what I named the Cup of Atlantic Ocean.
85
Chuck the cup.
86
Let me have this.
87
I'm pretty sure this bus station only has vending machines, but I love vending machines.
88
Let's go find some dinner.
89
I opted for the oven roasted turkey sandwich.
90
I ate it and then went up to the guy I kept making awkward eye contact with on the bus.
91
His name is Mike.
92
Me and Mike are on the same bus.
93
You're going pretty far.
94
Where are you headed?
95
I'm gonna end up in San Diego, but I'm going to Phoenix right now.
96
I'm hoping I can get a little bit of a nap, that's for sure.
97
I'm trying to pour the Atlantic Ocean into the Pacific Ocean, Thoughts?
98
Go for it.
99
Enjoy life while you can because you may never get the chance to do it again.
100
You never know.
101
Well, if I need anyone to watch the water cup so I don't spill it, I can count on you, huh?
102
Absolutely, I'll guard it with my life.
103
Okay.
104
I couldn't tell if he was serious or not about guarding my cup with his life.
105
But I think Mike is my first friend on this trip.
106
I'm getting back on this bus in five minutes, but before I do so, it's very important that I share with you my sleep plan.
107
That's right, I have a plan for everything.
108
- We are leaving from here at 8 p .m and we have stops overnight, but the big one, the most important one, is at 7 a .m in St. Louis, Missouri.
109
In St. Louis, I will have exactly one hour to transfer to a different bus to continue the adventure across America.
110
Different driver, different people, same goal.
111
Which means I cannot oversleep, but I have to sleep enough to not become delirious and spell Chuck.
112
Oh, I'm so sleepy.
113
Ah.
114
That's an example of what might happen if things go wrong.
115
So back to the sleep plan.
116
I have earplugs.
117
I have the pillow in the overhead bin.
118
I have a sleep mask.
119
I forgot the sleep mask.
120
So there you have it.
121
That's my plan.
122
Are you ready, Chuck?
123
He can't talk.
124
He's a cop.
125
- Thank you.
126
Let's go night -night.
127
I didn't realize this in the moment, but I was about to stumble into a very high stakes situation.
128
So this schedule will be delayed until further notice.
129
You mean that was your problem?
130
Huh?
131
What's the problem?
132
There's an issue with the tie.
133
So we have to wait for a bender to come out.
134
And we don't know when it comes.
135
It said we don't have your vehicle location at the moment.
136
Yeah, our vehicle's set in idle.
137
That's why.
138
Didn't sound too hopeful, but we need an A -T -7.
139
Five hours later at the bus station, we have a new bus.
140
If you have stuff from this old bus over here, you're gonna take that stuff off and bring it to the new bus.
141
Beep.
142
See this 20A, last seat in the back.
143
Okay, let's go.
144
You're stuck from all the other bus.
145
Oh, yes sir.
146
You're not the Atlantic 1.
147
I know, got protected.
148
Thank you, Mike.
149
Yeah, no problem.
150
Appreciate it.
151
At this point, I'm getting ready to execute my sleep plan.
152
By the way, no sink in the bathroom on the bus.
153
I thought I was gonna get in trouble for spitting toothpaste into the toilet, but when I walked out of the bathroom, police were literally on the bus.
154
I heard somebody got arrested, I don't know.
155
But the good news is, we are officially back on the road.
156
Rest up.
157
We're in Springfield, Missouri.
158
No, Ohio.
159
We're here for about 30 minutes.
160
We've actually been stopping many times per hour.
161
This video has actually been happening constantly.
162
Forgetting my face mask seems to have been a dire mistake.
163
Other than that, though, things are going great.
164
I do think I've gotten a couple hours of sleep, which is good.
165
I'm getting a little nervous for this bus transfer just because some of these stops are five minutes, some of them are off schedule from what it says on the app.
166
My nose hairs are frozen.
167
I'm just kidding.
168
I spilled a little when I was peeing in there.
169
As I made my way back to my seat and got my eye mask bandana ready, I just had a good feeling about the rest of this trip.
170
"It's going to be about two hours before they can get out there." "Alright.
171
You just made my day." Turns out we have a flat tire, but the good news is the person who can fix it is only two hours away.
172
You're never doing this again?
173
Absolutely not.
174
You couldn't get me on this if you had a pistol to my head.
175
Nope.
176
This is going to be quite the adventure.
177
Good morning.
178
For the record, I woke up so confused.
179
because I was sleeping the whole time.
180
This was a good investment.
181
This worked really well.
182
The only problem is right now I'm supposed to be boarding a bus to Phoenix
183
and that bus is in St. Louis and I am not.
184
This bus is currently delayed by like four hours.
185
I'm pretty sure everyone on this bus is going to miss their next departure.
186
So that's not good.
187
Guys, you are never going to believe it, but we actually arrived to St. Louis.
188
We've nearly crossed America.
189
That's where we show a map and we show how I've really not.
190
We missed the next bus by a long shot.
191
Everyone on the bus is upset.
192
When we walked inside the bus station, we got into a line.
193
and the lady at the front desk was the one to tell us our fate.
194
I need to get to Los Angeles.
195
I don't know if there's another option than the 120.
196
Only thing I can do is give you what they have on here.
197
Okay.
198
It's the first thing to come up on the other side.
199
What's that?
200
- Four.
201
- 4 :30.
202
- 4 :30 PM?
203
- Mm -hmm.
204
Thank you.
205
So originally my route was gonna go through Phoenix, but I guess there's no bus that can take me down
206
that route anytime soon because they gave me a route through Denver, Vegas, and finally LA.
207
Me and Mike are splitting up.
208
What?
209
No!
210
Don't split up with Mike!
211
Who's gonna protect the big goal?
212
I know.
213
I gotta go find him and tell him thank you for being a good friend.
214
It's me and Mike again.
215
Mike, you are no longer gonna be continuing the trip, is that what I hear?
216
I'm tapping out.
217
I'm turning around and going home.
218
I can't take anymore.
219
Hopefully I'll be able to get to the other side of America for you.
220
Has anybody ever called you the goat?
221
No. No. Well I'll be the first to say you're the greatest of all time.
222
Hey, enjoy your trip and I hope it all works out for you.
223
You got this, Ryan.
224
Thanks, Mike.
225
Mike's turning back around.
226
I can't believe it.
227
Since my next bus still leaves in several hours, I decided to check into the nearest hotel room, yes to take a hot shower and make some coffee,
228
and eat some lunch, and to let Chuck watch some TV, but most importantly, to connect to Wi -Fi and play Minecraft.
229
If you've been living under cobblestone, I'm playing one Minecraft day every day for an entire year on my secret channel, Ryan3000.
230
every single day on that channel.
231
But here's the catch.
232
For every subscriber I have on Ryan3000, I must also have one chicken in my world.
233
And if I don't, when the clock strikes midnight on 2027 at the end of the year, I must delete my beloved world forever.
234
I've always wanted to set my mind to something and stick with it every day for an entire year.
235
My first attempt just so happens to be Minecraft, so be sure to go subscribe to Ryan3000, become a chicken in my world, and you
236
bus station very soon i'm not gonna lie i'm actually sad
237
to be getting on a bus with different people mike i
238
will never forget you there were also a few other people
239
that i met off camera
240
that i just felt comfortable with at this point of the ride and
241
because they changed my route to get to los angeles we're
242
all going our separate ways even though everything is changing right before our eyes The mission stays the same.
243
That's it.
244
That's the ocean.
245
That's crazy.
246
Here is our new route to Los Angeles.
247
And without further ado, So Let's cross America.
248
I thought that would land way better.
249
I thought that would be a way cooler delivery.
250
Maybe someday I'll take the longest train in America.
251
How bad could that be?
252
Beep.
253
Okay, you'll know I need.
254
Yes ma 'am.
255
You're in 10A.
256
10A.
257
Thank you.
258
Oh hey, they got me in 10A.
259
The next leg of this bus ride is from St. Louis, Missouri to Denver, Colorado.
260
That's 16 hours if everything goes to plan.
261
A little bit extra to get the next category of seat, which is comfort.
262
I don't think there's anything different about this seat, it's just a little bit closer to the front, I guess.
263
In fact, this seat might actually be worse than the last one.
264
It has the cup holder, thank goodness, but it doesn't have the storage net.
265
It has an outlet though.
266
The sun is setting on day two of this adventure.
267
Can't believe it, but we are making progress.
268
My cup is full.
269
It's kind of a double entendre.
270
I don't really know what entendre means, but...
271
Let's go hang out in the bus bathroom, shall we?
272
I'm in the bathroom now.
273
It's dark outside, it's night time.
274
To pass the time, I've been watching reels about animals, but now my phone is about to die and the outlet actually doesn't work.
275
After all, I miss Mike.
276
I'm really hoping to get some good sleep tonight, but at the end of the day, the good news is we are on time.
277
We are delayed.
278
I'm just glad we made it to Kansas City bus station.
279
We were all worried that the bus driver was falling asleep because she kept driving on those bumpy things on the road.
280
Hey, you good up there?
281
I haven't been able to make a friend on the new bus yet.
282
I'm trying.
283
Everyone's just on their phone or upset that they're late to their destination,
284
and I don't blame them for either get ready to go night -night on the bus.
285
As I mentioned, we are in Kansas City.
286
It feels like it's been a lifetime since we left New York City.
287
But I just keep imagining Chuck and I making it to the Pacific Ocean, and thus accomplishing our wildest dreams.
288
So even though there's been a little loneliness, A few delays and some sleep deprivation progressing towards that finish line feels so good.
289
Good morning!
290
Gotcha!
291
I'm trying to keep things light because I have bad news.
292
The good news is that we made it to Denver, Colorado.
293
The bad news is that at one point last night, I realized Chuck the cup was no longer in the cup holder.
294
He was on the floor.
295
He spilled.
296
Chuck fell through the very thing that was designed to support him.
297
That's not cool.
298
There is an extremely small amount of water remaining in this cup.
299
My heart is broken for Chuck.
300
I know it was a tough night for him as well, but we can still do this, buddy.
301
You've still got enough in you.
302
I feel like there's still enough water to accomplish the mission.
303
But let me be clear about something.
304
If we lose any more water, it's uncertain that even a single molecule of Atlantic Ocean will be transferred.
305
So no more dilly -dallying.
306
I'm gonna protect Chuck with my life.
307
It's so crazy that we left New York City three days ago.
308
And to think - oh my gosh, I left Chuck.
309
Okay, that is unacceptable.
310
As I was saying, I can't believe we left New York City three days ago.
311
The days are all kind of blurring together at this point.
312
Night's becoming morning, morning becoming night.
313
I guess that's how days work.
314
This is probably the coolest place that I've been to so far: Union Station.
315
Travel by train.
316
Or in my case, bus.
317
We have a little time before I have to get on the next one.
318
We should explore!
319
Let's go explore.
320
I love the state of Colorado.
321
I gotta tell somebody here why I'm doing this adventure.
322
Calling it the Oceanic Exchange.
323
Nice.
324
Maybe the first person to do that.
325
This is the inside of Union Station.
326
It's so pretty.
327
There's restaurants, coffee shops, bookstores, shout out to Hayley, and this is the main bus terminal inside.
328
This is where we're gonna get on our bus.
329
I got myself coffee and a croissant.
330
Ha!
331
- - Life is good, y 'all.
332
Is it possible to eat a croissant without making a mess?
333
Our next bus takes us to Las Vegas, That's 14 hours right there.
334
I'm gonna enjoy my breakfast in this beautiful Union Station and then We ride.
335
At dawn, it's not at dawn.
336
- I just had to go.
337
- I'm going to go.
338
- I hear it.
339
Dang, these are nice.
340
Let's actually go.
341
Believe it or not, this is an upgraded seat.
342
Me and everyone else on this bus is on the way to Las Vegas.
343
I love when it's daytime because that means I can look outside and take in the view.
344
America has so many different landscapes it's honestly unbelievable.
345
I saw this as the perfect opportunity to get my best photo yet.
346
It's pretty good, I don't know.
347
You tell me.
348
I remember when I went to all 50 states in 50 days, one of our favorite drives of the entire trip was through Colorado.
349
And we are taking a very similar route on this bus.
350
It is simply beautiful.
351
This is also the first time in the entire trip that I have not seen snow.
352
which is actually
353
kind of nice the only difference really about this seat is
354
that it's way closer to the front so i can kind of see the road
355
as we drive and also there's not many stops on this route
356
so the bus driver's just giving out free water in the front.
357
Let's go test it out.
358
I feel uncomfortable coming up to grab a water bottle because no one else on board has done it yet, but I am thirsty.
359
And the bus driver said we were allowed to.
360
This is a very long ride, so I would be more cautious to drink water if we didn't have a bathroom on board the bus.
361
Nice.
362
You guys know I've been looking for a new friend since we lost Mike.
363
I met a guy named Mike.
364
He turned around back to Connecticut.
365
It's a long story.
366
But I'm here with...
367
Emily.
368
Emily, you are also kind of traversing America right now.
369
Where did you start and where are you going?
370
I started in Worcester, Ohio, and I'm going all the way to San Diego, California, but it's dropping me off in La Jolla.
371
How has your bus ride experience been thus far?
372
you know delays the different types of bus drivers the different type of people you run into
373
it's it's been an experience for sure and i'm in the military
374
so like i've been around people from all walks of life thank you for your service thank you i appreciate
375
that so what are you going to be doing in san diego um i'm a electrical engineer
376
so i build ships
377
so that's what i'm going down there to do new friend unlocked it may not seem like much
378
but making a friend on an adventure this scale is a good feeling.
379
Almost as good as it'll feel to finally make it to the Pacific Ocean on the other side of the country.
380
But for now, I'm encapsulated by this view.
381
It's Chuck's first time seeing the Rocky Mountains.
382
He's freaking out right now.
383
Because this route has only one rest stop, the bus driver parked the bus for a proper bathroom break, but only for a few minutes.
384
We kept driving and eventually drove through a ski town.
385
Look at all these people skiing.
386
I'm not good at skiing, so I get frustrated when I try to do it, but I'm happy for these people.
387
They all look like they're having fun.
388
We are inching closer and closer to our final destination, and at this point I'm honestly going a little stir crazy.
389
We left Denver several hours ago, and I'm doing anything I can to pass the time until we get to a rest stop.
390
We are getting fairly close to finishing the longest bus ride in America.
391
Chuck is doing okay?
392
I guess this is our first stop all day.
393
I am in dire need of a snack and beverage, but there's something I just realized every single state
394
that we have driven through so far has joyride on the shelf somewhere in that state.
395
Even this loves travel stop has joyride.
396
I've been munching on cherry berry ropes this whole trip
397
and my dream for joyride is to make it the next great American candy.
398
No fake dyes, no junk ingredients, way less sugar than the other candies, but still so scrumptious.
399
Don't believe me?
400
Let's see what some fellow passengers have to say.
401
I'm so glad they like it because I recently launched the 50 States Challenge.
402
If you want to help Joyride climb the rankings in your state, take a photo with your Joyride just like this, and tag your state on Instagram like this.
403
So many of you are already helping your state climb the candy rankings.
404
Shout out to all the Joyride runners.
405
And here's a list of stores you can find Joyride in.
406
And we just launched in Publix, which means if you live in these states, you can now find Joyride at your local Publix.
407
I'm still in Colorado, so I just helped their rankings.
408
I should go get some more food because I'm going to be munching all night.
409
The bus is gonna leave soon.
410
I ran inside to Love's and got myself a protein shake, water, a protein bar, and grapes. Of course.
411
Of course I got grapes.
412
We boarded the bus to Las Vegas after a much -needed break.
413
I ate my snacks.
414
I didn't realize how desperately I was craving snacks, because I love snacking.
415
I even had a little bit of ocean water.
416
I'm joking.
417
I'm just joking.
418
I can't afford to lose any more of the water in this cup.
419
As the sun sets somewhere in Utah, I played a little Minecraft to pass the time.
420
long.
421
We got some bad news.
422
Another bus is.. broken.
423
Hmm.
424
Apparently the passengers getting on the bus right now have been
425
stuck in a random town in Utah for the past day and a half.
426
That sounds like a nightmare.
427
On that note, we had to get off the bus because suddenly our bus wouldn't start.
428
It's getting maintenanced over there.
429
At this point I am content because I know nothing is in my control.
430
Our bus is working!
431
Alright, we all got on and rode through the night.
432
Our next bus departs at 2 :30 a .m from Las Vegas, and now I'm just praying that we make it there on time
433
because that would be the last bus we get on to finish this adventure.
434
We are approaching four days straight of being on this bus, and it feels like we are so close.
435
Las Vegas!
436
We made it to Las Vegas with time to spare.
437
Next stop, LA!
438
Woo!
439
Woo!
440
It is currently 2 :00 a .m.
441
I'm hanging out with my friends in the bus station.
442
We're all going to Los Angeles.
443
I cannot believe we did it.
444
We made it to Las Vegas.
445
We're here in Las Vegas.
446
My first time in Las Vegas!
447
Let's go!
448
Party!
449
Emily and I have one more bus to get on before we get to-- actually, you're going to San Diego.
450
I have a couple more, but yeah, I have like four more stops.
451
But I mean, still, we're almost to California.
452
That's what matters.
453
That's right.
454
We're almost to California.
455
We were talking on the bus and you told me that you had this idea for an adventure.
456
So Route 66 over the past, I would say like 15 years or so, people have been going in and buying like all of the abandoned hotels,
457
gas stations, and restaurants.
458
And they've been turning them into these amazing modern spectacles.
459
And I so badly want to start from like the beginning of Route 66
460
and make my way all the way across the country.
461
That would be such a fun adventure.
462
Someday you gotta do it.
463
That would be really cool to do.
464
Alright, well looks like our bus is boarding so we should go.
465
Yeah.
466
I walk up to my stuff and I realize someone has accidentally spilled chuck.
467
This is the worst case scenario.
468
I'll have to check on the bus if there's any water left.
469
This is our last bus.
470
I cannot miss boarding.
471
Luckily we have the best seat in the house on this bus.
472
I can't wait to tell you what they call this seat.
473
As with every bus change, we also have a new bus driver.
474
No smoking, no drinking, no drinking on this bus.
475
The last leg of crossing America on the longest bus ride.
476
This seat that I'm in is essentially the first class of Greyhound.
477
Panorama.
478
I'm pretty sure it's because you have a great view of the windshield.
479
It honestly is a much nicer experience.
480
As for the seat, it's pretty much the same.
481
There's the outlet.
482
Let's be honest, Chuck is hanging on by a thread.
483
It is sad at best.
484
I tried filming at 3 .30 in the morning, but you couldn't see me that good, so I can't really record right now.
485
Everyone is exhausted.
486
We are four days into this trip, and I've officially lost the entire concept of a sleeping schedule.
487
I've been surviving on 30 -minute naps, and somehow, I feel great.
488
The past few days have been a blur, yes, but they've been an epic blur.
489
When I decided to do this trip, Not to mention the Oceanic Exchange, come on that's sick.
490
But I had no idea that along the way, I would meet so many cool people, and I don't know if it's coming through in the video, but I feel like all the obstacles we're facing,
491
delays, flat tires, sleep deprivation, all of it is giving us fellow passengers a shared experience that I feel like has truly made us bond.
492
And with that said, look at the map, look how far we traveled on this bus.
493
The Memoji never lies, it's true.
494
We have just crossed into Los Angeles.
495
Shout out to Keeley for recording this video of me getting off the bus for the last time.
496
We made it to Los Angeles!
497
Before heading to the beach, I dropped my disposable camera off to get the pictures developed.
498
And before long, Chuck and I reached our final destination: the Pacific Ocean.
499
Look at Chuck, he's freaking out.
500
He's like, "There's another ocean?
501
What?" Anyway, it's time for the Oceanic Exchange.
502
Well, the oceanic exchange is complete.
503
It took a few long days of waiting, but I finally got my photos back.
504
This bus right here took me on quite the adventure.
505
Some photos turned out better than others, that's for sure.
506
I also sent Emily a care package for her future adventure on Route 66.
507
The future of all is this one.
508
Because as the saying goes, it is not about the destination.
509
It is truly about the journey and the people on it with you.
510
Shout out to all the joyride runners representing their state.
511
If you want to be at the end of the next video, be sure to tag me just like these guys.
512
And YouTube thinks you will love the video on screen.
513
They think you're just gonna have so much fun watching it.
514
You should click it.
515
Be kind to people.
516
You never know what they're going through.
517
Love you.
518
Bye.

تحليل الجمل

  • "It's also completely silent on this bus." استخدم المتحدث أسلوبًا بسيطًا يعكس الوضع الحالي، مما يساعد المستمع على تصور المشهد.
  • "I feel like I'm screaming at the top of my lungs." هنا، يعبر المتحدث عن مشاعره بشكل قوي، مما يضيف عمقًا إلى التجربة.
  • "My backpack and stuff fit in front of me."
