1
I fear to announce...
2
This is even more beautiful in person than I thought it was going to be.
3
So I have the new Natasha Denona Tan Palette.
4
This one in particular I got in PR but I actually did Order it.
5
So my mom has already claimed it because she loves the look of this
6
But the new Natasha Denona tan palette is basically available at all retailers right now
7
if you're in the US the major retailers are gonna be Sephora Ulta Natasha Denona website.
8
I believe it's also on Beautylish.
9
I have a lot of swatches for you today I'm comparing this to a lot of other Natasha Denona palettes
10
and we will get a couple looks done today.
11
This palette is $72 it is the midi style palette
12
favorite it has 15 shades that are interchangeable
13
because this one just like all of the others has the little holes in the back
14
and this is made in Italy now what I immediately noticed
15
upon looking at it in person versus online I think this is a lot prettier in person
16
and I was worried that this was going to be very monotone
17
and not a lot of right I wasn't seeing a lot of writing
18
depth here I do think the palette overall is missing some really bright / light tones
19
but if you have a medium
20
or deep complexion you're gonna love this this is kind of starting at a mid depth level
21
and there are more deeper shades than I thought
22
so I'm happy to report not only does this look better
23
in person it looks like there's gonna be more opportunity for
24
the amount of looks you can create with this overall with it being named in the tan palette it
25
but I am still very very excited about this palette now
26
this is supposed to be for summer think bronzy sandy brown
27
neutrals is how they describe it this formula contains three creamy
28
mattes three slip cream mattes six metallics three sparkling foiled one of
29
which is like a sparkling wet formula there's only one repeat shade
30
which is going to be a soft spot this is just the perfect
31
footage in front of the window it is natural light on my iphone
32
so you can really see the dimension and the textures
33
and everything looked really beautiful with the swatches a couple notes
34
with how the palette swatched overall really lovely really creamy we have a couple slip cream mats
35
which would include sandal and dip and glide and i was a little bit worried about these these have
36
list but in the past they've proven to be harder to get pigment with with the swatches today
37
which would be right here and right here they swatched really lovely full of pigment
38
so i'm really happy with
39
that my biggest concern lies with the focal point of the
40
palette spritz right here now this is a sparkling wet formula
41
however i feel like it's very very piecey taking a look at my swatch
42
the skin and I don't know why my camera just switched lenses like that.
43
My worry with this is if you get it on the eyelid, you take a blending brush, it's just gonna fall all over your face.
44
So I'm thinking this one, wet your brush or have a good sticky base because those glitters are sitting on top of the skin, which I don't like.
45
But other than that, everything's swatched so, so nice.
46
And I'm telling you, this palette looks so much better in person than her marketing images.
47
I mean, this is right up my alley, you guys.
48
most that I needed to cover let's just get in with the looks get these on the eyes
49
because based on swatching I pinpointed I need to use the shade spritz
50
because I'm worried it's gonna leave a lot of fallout and I do want to make sure the slip cream mats
51
have enough pigment, but they swatched really well.
52
There really isn't too many shades I'm concerned about.
53
We're also gonna see, hopefully I can get a couple of different looks here.
54
Now that you're up close and personal, I do have two different foundations on that are very different shades from one another.
55
So one side of my face is darker than the other.
56
The things I do, I'm actually testing the Makeup Forever HD skin alongside their new foundation.
57
And the shades are super different.
58
But I really wanted to see how the two compare to each other.
59
So side note...
60
The new one is definitely more matte but smoothing.
61
The HG Skin has a more natural skin -like appearance.
62
That's what I'm noticing right away with those.
63
But that is not what we're here for.
64
I'm debating where I want to begin.
65
I'll have everything that I'm wearing as a base down below.
66
Just don't pay mind to the different shades.
67
We're doing what we gotta do here.
68
I did prep my base with the Thrive Cosmetics Eyelift Eye Primer.
69
So when I do...
70
My basic reviews of Natasha Denona palettes, I like to put two shades
71
that are close to one another next to each other to make sure they each serve their own purpose.
72
So as much as I want my looks to be pretty, I'm coming at it from more of a review standpoint.
73
And I will have more looks with this in future videos of ones that I would actually wear out.
74
So I want to see the shade Lazy right here.
75
And I'm gonna pop this in the inner half and of my crease.
76
This has a little bit of a peachy tone to it against my skin tone.
77
Okay, nice
78
and this as you can see other than the shade of Villa is the lightest shade in the palette
79
and it is only adding depth for me So
80
if you have a lighter complexion
81
if you need something to brighten you probably will need to go into a different palette
82
But I'm not that mad about it.
83
Let's see paddle paddles a little close to it.
84
Let's make sure I It has a little bit more of a tan tone.
85
It's a little bit less peachy.
86
Overall, you guys, when you were telling me your thoughts on this palette, just based on the visuals and the marketing that had been launched, a lot of you were worried that it was going to be too warm.
87
And while there's a few shades
88
that have some warm tones to it with the nature of it being called the tan palette, honestly, it ended up being just more truly neutral.
89
Brown some shades leaning slightly more warm, but for me and my complexion.
90
I absolutely love love the tone of this palette.
91
It's like a true tan brown, not too warm.
92
And you'll see that compared to other palettes when I.. do that portion at the end.
93
For me, it's not too warm.
94
I know for those of you who are very, very cool toned, this will definitely pull more warm on you.
95
But if you're more neutral, it's Perfect.
96
The two shades are similar to one another, same depth level, slight different undertones, Probably not necessary to have both.
97
I'm gonna take some of Soft Spot, which is that pre -existing shade, and I'm just going to run this along the lower lash line.
98
For now, I love this shade.
99
It is the perfect transition tone.
100
It added the perfect shadow here.
101
But actually what I'm more curious about I was saying how
102
I need to use these slip cream match just to make sure they perform in quality
103
because in the past there's been inconsistent performance of this formula however it's gotten better over the years.
104
Oh, this is perfect and it provides a great level of depth.
105
The thing with these is it does provide nice pigment in the beginning,
106
but it is a little bit more difficult to build up the pigment because it is so thin in nature. But...
107
It applies nice and what is nice about these is you don't get any fallout.
108
from them but you can't really build up a ton of pigment with it
109
I mean I just have a lot of mush on my eye but everything is working out nicely.
110
I'm going to demo Dip here which is another slip cream mat.
111
we'll see you see how it stays pretty mess free especially for a shade this dark I do like that about this, for outer inner corner colors.
112
and shading on the eye.
113
I feel like it's been so long since I've done an eyeshadow review, you guys.
114
Feels good to be back.
115
Okay.
116
Now my main focus for this look is to test this Sprint shade
117
because this is the one that I was the most sus about.
118
Everything else felt on par to what I'm used to with Natasha Denona, but this one...
119
I pointed it out in the swatch, but the glimmers kind of sit on top of the skin, which makes me worry.
120
their longevity I'm using a finger to apply this
121
and not too bad I'm not getting any fallout actually I'm just making sure I'm massaging this into the eyelid
122
and it is giving that sparkling wet effect That was the intention.
123
So while the swatch was disappointing, It's looking really gorgeous.
124
I am, for review's sake,
125
I'm going to take my blending brush softening the edges to see if any of the shimmers fall on my Under eye.
126
And honestly, no, I don't have a single...
127
Glimmer Falling, and I just went like this.
128
So obviously this did take some of the glitters off.
129
So you're going to get the longest wear, the best wear, the sparkliest wear if you use a glitter glue or a wet brush.
130
But hey, it's working great like this.
131
Let me take taking a flat shader brush.
132
I'm getting it in that spritz shade, which I'm getting kickback everywhere.
133
That's okay.
134
Just wetting my brush.
135
And this will amp up the intensity as well.
136
Very cool and it actually added more depth than I thought it was going to do.
137
In Pan it looks like a brighter shade compared to the rest but it actually does have a pretty deep base.
138
But hey, that's gorgeous.
139
This is a beautiful kind of smoky eye.
140
I think around this level of depth is what you're gonna get with a lot of shades from this palette
141
because it is so bright.
142
beginning and more of that mid -tone depth level so just keep
143
that in mind let's see if i can do something a little bit brighter maybe more cool tone
144
on the other eye i don't know maybe you can't get as many looks from this
145
which has been the pattern with natasha denona palettes lately there's
146
not a lot of variety in the shade you get 15 shades
147
but you really only get like three or four looks
148
that you can get from the palette so i am kind of feeling
149
that way now we're not gonna get much variety here
150
but i do like the mixture of like she calls them metallics but some of these shades are more
151
satiny metallic and then other shades have more glitter so
152
that will also help the variety i'm gonna take some of glide which is another slip cream.
153
I do like this formula.
154
I'm always scarred because I did have a very bad experience with the slip cream mats when they first launch.
155
when they first launched but they are definitely a perfected formula now and this has kind of a murky color to it.
156
Remember, there's not really a light shade option for me in this palette.
157
But the slip cream mattes are fabulous for smoky eyes and halo eyes.
158
It's a pretty mess free if you're somebody that does your face makeup first.
159
Great formula for this.
160
Okay.
161
Bye.
162
I'm just putting that on the outer half of the lower lash.
163
I'm gonna take dip again.
164
And this one I'm gonna do a little a little halo eye, Do something a little bit different.
165
I think for my complexion, there's a good amount of one and done shades that will provide just a little bit of depth.
166
You can put it all over and blend it up into the crease.
167
So that's really nice.
168
There's a lot of options for that here, but You want to talk about performance here.
169
And then I'm going to take some of Vila.
170
Pop this in the center of the eyelid.
171
I think it will be better with a finger.
172
It applied fine with a brush, but I feel like I can work quicker.
173
with a finger and then this is the bright shimmer shade in this palette.
174
Very gorgeous.
175
Taking that on the tip of my shader brush and just running it on the
176
inner part i'm actually going to use a pencil brush for this
177
inner part of the lower lash line and the tear duct area So you can get a glowing eye look with this.
178
I think this would have been really gorgeous all over the eyelid without the deep shade to brighten up the eye.
179
And that's a good...
180
inner corner shade, Villa, and pop in right here.
181
I'm gonna blend that right here.
182
And now I'm taking some of Celeste, which has a little bit more reflect in there.
183
and i'm patting this in the center of the eyelid it's gonna give a little bit more glam
184
and i mean these are two very very simple looks nothing too complex about them now one thing
185
that i did notice with just her looks online they looked
186
very messy to me like just like a bunch of mush on the eyelid
187
and i do feel like that's kind of the vibe on my eyelid as well.
188
I think this palette is better served for more simple looks just with the amount of shimmers in this palette.
189
It does kind of just look like dirt on the eyelid, not in a bad way, in like a pretty brown shimmery way.
190
But normally with Natasha Denona palettes, when she releases a palette, there's like tons of variety in the looks.
191
They look really awesome
192
and I just noticed the looks in her marketing this time
193
around it did look just like a bunch of Shades thrown onto the eyelid a little messily
194
and that's kind of the vibe I'm getting as I'm applying
195
this as well I just don't see a ton of opportunity here for a bunch of different looks.
196
I was optimistic
197
when I opened this palette You're gonna get like a mid -tone brown smokey eye with this
198
and slight variety in that but not too much
199
some eyeliner and lashes and you'll love the way the looks are
200
but in terms of artistry and creating a lot of different looks
201
Just as it's been with the most recent palettes from her brand, this is sticking in the one color family limited looks category.
202
I mean this palette is the ultimate...
203
smoky brown glimmery eye palette for looks like this where you have glimmers
204
and special reflex on the eyes
205
and the formulas everything with this palette makes it easy to create a look like this
206
but you are kind of limited to looks like this
207
and you'll see that even with the looks Natasha Denona creates herself
208
but here's my thing I love this kind of look I feel so confident in this kind
209
recommend this palette for you
210
but I think you can get subtle differences with each eye look you create
211
because of the different tones that she's offering in the shimmers
212
and the different depths the different finishes
213
so there will be slight variety in the looks
214
but they're they're gonna kind of look like this right a pretty brown mush on the eyelids
215
and I mean that in the best way possible
216
and I've been trying to lay out the pros and cons of this palette but overall even the cons
217
Simply love the tones in this palette.
218
For me, some lighter shades are missing.
219
Just for my skin tone, I can easily reach into other palettes that I have.
220
But if you are medium to deep complexion, I really think that you will enjoy this palette even more than I already do.
221
Now, obviously, this color story is nothing unique.
222
It is yet another neutral palette.
223
If you have collected a few Natasha Denona palettes over the years, you're gonna have these shades.
224
within your collection so i'm gonna take you over to my swatch comparisons
225
so hopefully that can help you decide if it's worthwhile for you so this is the i sculpt
226
and dramatic on the left and I mean of course
227
when it comes to the matte colors there's going to be some repetition maybe with a couple shimmers
228
but overall I don't think there's too much overlap between these two.
229
I thought it would be closer to Beba than it actually is.
230
Again maybe some similar mattes but the Beba just has a much larger range of undertones
231
and the tan palette stays a tan palette.
232
I saw a lot of comparisons between the bronze palette and the tan palette and side by side they're nothing alike.
233
Actually the bronze palette is so warm it's making the tan palette look almost gray and washing it out.
234
Here it is next to the gold palette.
235
The gold palette is much more yellow, has a lot more warm tones in there.
236
So I'm loving how the tan isn't turning out as warm
237
as I think a lot of people were commenting they thought it would be.
238
Here it is next to the gold palette honestly these were
239
more similar than I originally thought they were going to be
240
but there's just a different selection of shades in the golden palette like there's a lot more lighter shades
241
and the shades overall lean more yellow
242
and in the tan palette they lean more I don't want to say peachy
243
but take a look so golden palette's definitely more warm the golden is on the bottom
244
and the tan will be on the top for the rest of these swatches
245
so there are some similar mattes and some similar shimmers
246
but there's not a one -to -one match up between the palettes
247
and the shades definitely lean more peachy yellow in the golden palette so similar
248
but not quite not close enough in my opinion here's the i need a warm in the tan palette
249
and on first glance i really can tell the difference between the two
250
But these have a closer one -to -one ratio when having a partner or a match.
251
Let me show you.
252
I'm actually quite surprised at how similar these palettes are to one another.
253
Obviously, I Need a Warm is much more warm.
254
And there are differences between the shades that I swatched against each other.
255
But the general vibes are very similar, just with slightly different tones.
256
But for you, that could make all the difference.
257
Here is I Need a Nude against the Tan Palette.
258
that you'll get a lot of similarities.
259
Now the mattes between the two palettes are a lot more different.
260
The mattes in the I Need a Nude are much more gray
261
but I feel like there's a lot of similar shimmers
262
and transparently I feel like the shimmers in the I Need
263
a Nude felt creamier than the I Need a Tan
264
and sometimes it takes going against one another to be able to tell that difference but it's weird.
265
In the I Need a Nude some of the mattes are much more pink and then
266
gray there's no in -between neutral which the tan kind of fulfills
267
that but the shimmers there are some pretty similar shimmers final comparison with the glam palette
268
and there's a lot of close colors
269
but not quite you'll see the tones in the glam are
270
just a bit different the tan palette is more brown
271
so there's the comparison you can see there are some similar shades a couple shades from
272
because there was a couple of different shades they could have matched up with.
273
So it's not like one -to -one ratio here.
274
But they're close, but they're different.
275
You know what I'm saying?
276
You can see the tan palette's just a little bit more monochromatic in the brown family.
277
I hope that this video was very helpful for you.
278
Overall, quality of this palette is super duper nice.
279
Lacks in variety.
280
It's very monotone as it's been with the last previous palettes.
281
But I personally love, love, love these tones on myself.
282
I can see myself using this palette quite often
283
and you definitely will be seeing the looks I create with this palette in the next few videos
284
and then I will circle back
285
and let you know after creating many more looks how I feel about this palette
286
but overall someone who is very very experienced with Natasha Denona
287
and her formulas and all of her palettes I can say this You will love it.
288
Natasha Denona simply has one of the best formulas on the market and I think you will really enjoy it.
289
So let me know if you have any questions down below.
290
I might do some more in -depth shorts, so maybe I'll answer some of those in the shorts.
291
And I will say get them on the next one.
292
Bye guys, have a good one.
