1
This is after the flood,
2
Noah plants a vineyard and he becomes drunk.
3
He drank of the wine and became drunk and he laid uncovered in his tent.
4
So he laid naked in his tent.
5
And Ham, the father of Canaan,
6
saw the nakedness of his father and told his two brothers outside.
7
Then Shem and Japheth took a garment,
8
laid it on both of their shoulders and walked backward and covered their father's nakedness.
9
When Noah awoke from his wine and knew what his youngest son had done to him,
10
he said, cursed be Canaan,
11
a servant of servants shall he be to his brothers.
12
So in this moment, we see Noah was laid naked
13
and then his son dishonored him and put a curse on the land of Canaan.
14
And I know this sounds really intense,
15
but like imagine the first mention of alcohol in the Bible ever leads to a curse and not a celebration.
16
So people who use alcohol as a celebration,
17
the first time it's ever mentioned in scripture it's not a celebratory thing um
18
and i just imagine like noah is a good righteous man
19
and he ended up in complete shame because of his drunkenness
20
imagine how many people go through that where they drink
21
and then they're like oh i wish i didn't do
22
that i didn't i wish i didn't say
23
that it makes you different i know you know i know
24
but look at even noah the most faithful man fell not just that should that should free you right now
25
that even Noah, who was so obedient,
26
so faithful, a man after God, fell.
27
Fell, yeah.
28
And so while you're sitting there beating yourself up,
29
feeling so far gone, feeling so much shame, be reminded of Noah.
30
So good.
31
That even fell.
32
Yeah.
33
You know?
34
It's so real.
35
I mean, and like what Ari's saying,
36
you don't need to have shame.
37
But the truth is that alcohol,
38
the weed, the vape, that everything is going to lead to more shame.
39
It will lead to more shame.
40
and you don't have to be bound.
41
You can be free.
42
Jesus granted you freedom.
43
He gave you where the Spirit is the Lord and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there's freedom.
44
If you call on the Holy Spirit,
45
if you accept Jesus into your life and then you're baptized in the Holy Spirit,
46
you can receive true lasting freedom.
47
And if you remember my story,
48
remember all those months of praying and then there was the breakthrough.
49
Some people receive breakthrough in a second.
50
Some people, it takes a little longer.
51
We don't always know why God does things the way that he does.
52
But what I know is that he promises freedom.
53
He promises complete freedom.
54
And like Ari said, you might fall and then get back up.
55
The truth is, if you've gotten sober,
56
if you've laid something down and then you pick it back up again because you think,
57
oh, I could just do it one time.
58
I guarantee you it won't just be one time.
59
You'll find yourself directly into the same cycle.
60
Like six years later I could think oh it's been
61
so long why don't I just have one drink I promise
62
you I will be right back to where I was in
63
that brick house within days that that within days yes
64
and for you guys
65
because it's that's how Satan works he doesn't oh I thought there was something on my face no That's how Satan works.
66
And so if you did give in again, just do it.
67
Just get sober again.
68
Just lay it down again.
69
Just submit it to Jesus once again.
70
You can get sober again.
71
You can lay it down again.
72
But there can't be this back and forth wishy-washy,
73
oh, maybe just one more time.
74
It will trap you again and it will keep trapping you until you decide,
75
because it is a decision you have to make,
76
that I'm done with this for the rest of my life.
77
Whether it's alcohol, whether it's vaping,
78
anything that you're addicted to,
79
that you're dependent on, that you want,
80
that you have a craving for, that's not allowed.
81
You can't do that.
82
You can't live like that.
83
It means you're in bondage.
84
It means that your mind,
85
body, or spirit is craving something other than Jesus.
86
and we were not meant to live that way.
87
That's worship.
88
If you're craving anything other than Jesus,
89
you're worshiping that thing and it's idolatry and it will lead you to death.
90
You know what I love what you said?
91
And I think that's really important is like you might fall,
92
just get back up.
93
And that's so real.
94
I think the tension is here.
95
Everyone falls.
96
Everybody sins.
97
Everybody, yeah, I don't drink anymore, but guess what?
98
I sinned probably three times this morning eight times yesterday like with the words
99
that i say the thoughts that i have like of course
100
but this is like the point of maturity in your faith is it's one thing to tolerate sin
101
and then it's one thing to fall into sin of course you're going to fall into sin
102
and then you also get to a point where you decide no i'm never doing this again
103
and you let the holy spirit empower you for that to happen
104
but that can only take place when first you've made the decision to not tolerate something and you have a clear conviction.
105
Because a lot of people are like,
106
one day alcohol is bad,
107
but then the next day, ah, it's okay.
108
And so of course they're going to be falling into sin because you don't even know what you believe.
109
But then it's another thing to know what you believe and then be human and fall into sin.
110
So this is where we begin, guys.
111
We make a decision.
112
Where do we land on this?
113
Are we going to make a decision to never get drunk again?
114
Are we going to make a decision to never buy a vape again?
115
Are we going to make the decision that alcohol is bad for me
116
and there's nothing that good it does in my life?
117
Are we going to make the decision
118
that marijuana does not do what I say it does for my life because it doesn't.
119
Because it doesn't.
120
It's not doing anything for you.
121
Also, you know what?
122
Alcohol and weed and all these substances in Studio 2.
123
It ages you.
124
Ages you.
125
If that's not...
126
If that doesn't say, I'm never touching it again.
127
Can I be honest?
128
That is enough for me.
129
That is enough for me.
130
Hey, if you're vain, here you go.
131
Don't smoke cigarettes because it'll give you wrinkles.
132
No, I'm sick.
133
For vanity purposes, there you go.
134
And more importantly, it leads to death.
135
No, seriously.
136
But make the decision today.
137
And let's just pray for you guys.
138
Lord, we just lift up every single person in this
139
who's watching this video or listening to this podcast who is at a crossroads,
140
Jesus, who hears your voice saying, come to me.
141
They're hearing you, Jesus, for the very first time,
142
maybe, saying, come to me.
143
Lay all of that stuff down.
144
You don't need it.
145
I am better than the thing that you're holding onto.
146
I'm better.
147
I'm more fulfilling.
148
I'm more comforting.
149
And it's real and it's everlasting.
150
So Father, I just pray for every single person.
151
I pray that they would encounter you so intensely right now,
152
Jesus, that they would fall,
153
be brought to their knees in an encounter with you.
154
I pray this very moment,
155
Holy Spirit, you'd fill their rooms and their hearts and their minds with your presence.
156
and that the spirit of freedom would fall upon them and that there would be supernatural breakthrough right now in Jesus' name.
157
That the addiction that is held onto them that has its claws in their neck,
158
the thing that they love,
159
the thing that they're worshiping,
160
the vice that has brought comfort,
161
we break the stronghold in the name of Jesus and we say,
162
be free in Jesus' name.
163
Guys, I just wanna invite you into a moment.
164
If you've never given your life to Jesus,
165
This is where your freedom starts, okay?
166
This is where the spirit of freedom comes over you and inside of you and on you and empowers you,
167
anoints you, and empowers you to live a life of freedom because we need Jesus to do it.
168
He did it in our lives.
169
He will do it in yours.
170
But you have to accept him first.
171
the God who sent his son on the earth to get up on a cross,
172
to die a brutal and painful death,
173
to be beaten, bruised, marred beyond recognition so that by his wounds,
174
the wounds on his back,
175
you could be healed in this moment.
176
He lost his life so that you could gain one.
177
He gave up his life so that he could right now in this very moment,
178
give you a brand new one.
179
And this moment can be your moment of absolute breakthrough and turnaround.
180
But in this moment, you not only have to accept Jesus,
181
but you have to declare repentance,
182
that you repent of the way you've been living your life.
183
You repent of the addiction.
184
You repent of the idolatry.
185
You repent that you have had this thing in your hands and you've said it's more important than Jesus.
186
I put it higher than Jesus.
187
So in this moment, the best thing you can do is give your life to the one who gave it to you.
188
Jesus loves you so much and he wants you to be free.
189
And someone needs to hear that because you're living in sin,
190
shame, bondage and addiction, thinking God doesn't want me to be free.
191
But the truth is, he died so you could be free.
192
So receive freedom and don't settle for not being free.
193
In any area of your life,
194
do not settle for not being free.
195
So pray with us.
196
Dear Jesus, I give you my life.
197
I believe you died on the cross for the forgiveness of my sins.
198
And now you're seated at the right hand of the Father.
199
I believe you resurrected from the dead,
200
ascended into heaven, and now you're seated at the right hand of the Father,
201
reigning in glory forever.
202
Jesus, I invite you to be Lord of my life.
203
I repent of my sin.
204
I renounce my sin.
205
I renounce the world.
206
I renounce the devil.
207
I repent from my addiction.
208
I repent for my substance abuse.
209
I repent for my idolatry and I repent for turning to anything except you.
210
Lord, I turn my heart to you right now and I give you everything.
211
And I declare that my mind,
212
my body, and my spirit is under the submission and the authority of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
213
you said that you would heal us and that you would free us
214
so lord i say i believe you at your word
215
and i declare that i am healed
216
and i'm free in the name of jesus christ amen he's
217
waiting for you he's he he's already after you just like he was in the bathroom with angela
218
when the whole time he was right there
219
and he had her girdled under his arm it's the same with you all you have to do It's so simple.
220
It really is.
221
Help me.
222
Help me.
223
Get into community.
224
He will be your strength.
225
You just have to take that first step and say, I need help.
226
I want to put this under my feet.
227
I don't want to be addicted to this anymore.
228
That is the first step.
229
If you're saying that, we are so, so proud of you.
230
And so is in Jesus.
231
We love you guys so much.
232
We're so proud of you.
233
Go be free.
234
Go be free.
235
May the Lord bless you and keep you.
236
May he make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you.
237
May he turn his face towards you and give you peace.
238
Shalom, shalom.
239
We love you so much.
