1
Hello, Nat here.
2
Let's see what's making news.
3
There's been some big news in the world of AI, as some experts reckon it could lead to the end of humanity as we know it.
4
Don't worry about that, that's Joe.
5
He'll tell you about it.
6
Do you see what I did just then?
7
That might be your first reaction upon hearing
8
that researchers from some big AI companies are warning that the tech could wipe out humanity within the next decade.
9
Well, this week, three current and former AI researchers did say exactly that, but that's not the whole story.
10
See, it all kicked off with a post from this guy, Jacob Coxon, saying he quit working with OpenAI and Anthropic
11
because he claims the companies are developing superintelligence without any plan for if things start getting out of hand.
12
Then Evan, who's currently in charge of keeping Anthropic's AI safe, agreed.
13
And even said he reckons there's a 10 % chance of humanity being in trouble within the next decade.
14
Followed by another post from an Anthropic colleague, Samuel, saying they can't really program AI the way they want.
15
These guys also say that AI isn't a threat in its current form, but what they're concerned about is the future, if more rules and safety measures aren't put in place.
16
That's something more than 1 ,300 employees from multiple AI companies agreed in a statement to the US government signed in July.
17
OpenAI and Anthropics say they agree more guardrails are needed, and they're improving their own safety efforts in the meantime.
18
Sunscreen is making headlines once again, with the manufacturer behind 20 recalled products now being sued in federal court.
19
Last year, we told you about 20 sunscreens pulled from shelves after a
20
big investigation found a bunch of SPF ratings were lower than advertised.
21
All of them used the same base formula, made by Wildchild Laboratories.
22
Now, one of the affected brands, Ultraviolet, is suing Wildchild for $7 million over what it's calling misleading and deceptive conduct.
23
The case is a little up in the air, though, because Wildchild actually went into liquidation in August, meaning the company is being wound up.
24
Its assets were sold to a new company with the same CEO as Wildchild, but that company is firmly denying it was set up to avoid responsibility.
25
The Opals have just made it through to the FIBA Women's World Cup quarter -final.
26
Michelle has that and more in sport.
27
In a game that came right down to the sirens...
28
It's so brutal for Italy!
29
..the Opals came out on top, working their way into a quarter -final at the FIBA World Cup.
30
With a 20 -point lead at three -quarter time, it looked like an Aussie win was in the bag.
31
In the corner, yes!
32
But the Italians slowly chipped away, equalising with a minute to go. And...
33
Isabel Borles, who nabbed 30 points, put the Aussies up by two in the final seconds.
34
And a lay -up by Italian Francesca Passa rolled off the rim after the final siren sounded.
35
The Opals will now face Spain in the quarterfinal.
36
They're gonna be crying their eyes out.
37
Elena Rybukkina has claimed victory in the quarterfinal of the US Open and, in doing so, has also claimed the world number one ranking,
38
ending Arena Sabalenka's 99 -week streak at the top.
39
Rybukkina will now face Coco Gauff in the semifinal.
40
Now meet Frio's rocker on the roof.
41
Provided I'm not getting rained on, it's pretty awesome.
42
Also known as Troy Nabobun, this guy has played to thousands of people from 42 metres up in the air on the roof of Perth Stadium.
43
Troy has played at every Dockers home game since 2019
44
and is now preparing to play to 60 ,000 Frio fans in the do or die clash against Geelong on Friday night.
45
Now it's time for some stories that'll make you crush your fingers and hope you were recording.
46
First up, to some impressive new entries that have been added to the Guinness Book of World Records, including the world's biggest hairdryer,
47
the world's tallest horse, and the world's narrowest car.
48
Nice one.
49
There are also new records set for the largest collection of frog -related items
50
and the largest collection of My Little Pony memorabilia.
51
Now to space, specifically China's Tiangong space station where these astronauts are playing ping -pong with a glob of water.
52
They recorded this video as part of a space lecture to
53
teach students about the mechanics of fluid in the microgravity of space.
54
Well that's all from us today we'll see you tomorrow bye for now.

Was du lernst

Zum Beispiel: "don't worry about that" wird oft zu "don'worry 'bout that" (Reduktion von "not" und "about"). Oder "it all kicked off" – hier fließen "it" und "all" zu "itall" zusammen.

B. bei "That's not the whole story!") genau zu kopieren.
