1
guys welcome to today's tutorial man what we're going to be
2
doing today is breaking down a very simple easy to follow system
3
that you can apply to any texture of hair today we're
4
going to be giving my client a nice low fade as he grows the top out
5
but today's principles are going to be able to be applied
6
to any hair texture long hair short hair high fades low fades straight hair curly hair
7
so we're going to jump right into it
8
and not waste any time guys since this fade is going
9
to be skin tight i like to start this with the clipper all the way closed
10
so i always like to start these fades guys with the
11
clipper all the way closed you see a lot of times at least the way
12
that i originally learned how to cut hair is going in with the trimmer for the bald line
13
and there's nothing wrong with that a lot of youtubers will teach you
14
that you want to start with the trimmer but in my personal opinion
15
and experience that slowed me down for years it's too harsh of a line and especially
16
if you're in the beginner stage you don't want to give yourself more challenges than necessary just go ahead
17
and start off with this clipper all the way closed here
18
it's still a bald line you see i can still have the precision
19
that i need to create the shape that i want by using the corners
20
and just taking my time chipping away at it right that's a nice precise bald line
21
but you're about to see how easy it can be to
22
fade out now that's the primary guideline primary line bald secondary
23
guideline half guard with the lever closed a lot of youtubers will tell you you got to go in
24
and do this guideline here with the clipper open no guard now the challenge with
25
that is you know it's cool it works
26
but at the same time there's an easier way to get
27
that same length there's an easier way to get a fadeable line, a more fadeable line.
28
And in my opinion, it's going to be with the half guard all the way closed.
29
It's a very similar length to no guard all the way open.
30
But I think you're going to see as this tutorial moves
31
on how much easier this line is going to be to fade out.
32
Because if we start thinking about the method, right, like the system that we're going to be following, this haircutting system sets a primary line, a secondary line,
33
and then we fade down using plastic guards from here to
34
here to here it's much much easier to fade out plastic
35
to plastic than it is to fade out plastic to metal and
36
if you don't know what i'm talking about already stay tuned i'm going to show you guys here make sure
37
that you create some space with this guideline too guys i
38
like to go at least a finger's width you know um
39
if you want to have a much more compressed type of fade you can definitely do
40
that but you're going to need to do it with you know like i don't know a lot tighter guidelines
41
and it's not going to look as spread out faded you know not most clients most clients don't like
42
that now we're going to start working our way up into this bulk
43
so i like to use the one
44
and a half card with the lever open for sure
45
but i want to show you the motion
46
if i have my my clipper tight against the head here at the bottom
47
when we hit that line and i'm going to float it up
48
and off the head up and off the head if you're looking at this from a side angle
49
up and off the head now you definitely they're the more beginner friendly way
50
if you've never done this motion before you can go through
51
and practice this motion with
52
so many different guards you can practice this with the four
53
guard then the three guard then the two guard you know
54
you can get your reps in to learn the motion like
55
that first but i would encourage each
56
and every one of you to at the very least work
57
your way up to where you can do this with the one and a half guard.
58
I mean you can see this is definitely it's not even
59
a guard length up on top it's definitely scissor length up on top
60
and you're able to smoothly blend your way up when you get your wrist movement on lock like this.
61
So we're going to take this all the way around the
62
head 1 .5 with the lever open now in my opinion
63
the point the 1 .5 open is a great guard to do this step with
64
because it leaves the hair dark enough it leaves the hair dark
65
and long enough that you can play with that you know like
66
if i were to go in here do it with a
67
half guard it would take a lot more skill to float
68
it up to where it's dark enough to blend into scissor
69
length up on top to me this 1 .5 is a
70
magic guard man like you know you can see it's leaving the dark enough
71
that we can play with that gradients and blend up into the length here
72
now we're going to continue to fade down after this step is done here right so
73
you can see here we're going to go ahead
74
and debulk this last little section I'm going to go to the next section.
75
because this this 1 .5 guard accomplishes a few things it it debulks it
76
it debulks it creates the shape and it also establishes the tone for the blend
77
you know this this 1 .5 open is actually going to have it pretty dark
78
but you'll see
79
that once we close the 1 .5 it's going to start
80
to lighten up a bit that's going to be the next step
81
so let's go ahead and keep scooping away at this last, this last little section right here.
82
all right guys
83
so look we have pretty much debulked right now we're going
84
to work our way just a little bit lower with the same 1 .5 yard I'm gonna close the lever
85
and I'm not gonna go too crazy here I'm really just gonna repeat the same motion
86
that I just did however it's gonna be just a little
87
bit lower incrementally lower than what I just did right since
88
we're fading our way down since we're fading our way down I'm slowly closing in on that secondary guideline that we set.
89
So here's the 1 .5 closed chipping away at any dark spots that I can reach with this 1 .5 closed.
90
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
91
no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
92
no, no, no, no, no, no, no
93
all right guys so we have done everything
94
that we can with the 1 .5 open 1 .5 closed
95
now you can just barely faintly see the the secondary guideline
96
that we put in with the half guard closed now earlier
97
when i said plastic fades into plastic better
98
that means i'm gonna go in with the same guard
99
that i used to put
100
that line in i'm gonna take this half guard all the way open first right
101
and i'm gonna float my way up into what i was
102
doing with the 1 .5 guard now you just just like
103
with the 1 .5 guard guys like you saw me float up with the 1 .5
104
and you know skip the four the three the two all
105
that stuff you don't necessarily like you can't i would highly
106
encourage you guys to skip the one guard as you develop the hand motion
107
but if you think about it why is this working why did
108
that blend perfectly up into it when i skipped the one guard it's
109
because the 1 .5 with the lever closed
110
that covers the length of the one guard with it open
111
with the lever open okay now this half guard with the lever all the way open
112
that covers the length that the one close covers right
113
so really the only thing
114
that you have left over is the one guard with the lever halfway open okay
115
and I personally think that if you work really hard to develop your hand motion
116
and you know you learn how to control your clipper more with your hand motions using the corners
117
when you need to I think you're more than capable of never needing to use the one guard again
118
in your barber career obviously unless
119
if you're gonna like even somebody out like balled up you know hit the top with a one
120
or something but for fading purposes I never need anything more than a 1 .5
121
and a 0 .5 it's a pretty simple system guys
122
and like i said i apply this same system across my
123
whole entire channel you know with with straight hair curly hair
124
wavy hair it doesn't matter i do this system on all of my clients anything
125
that gets faded down to skin this is universal hair system
126
and i think you guys should try the same every time
127
that a new youtuber would drop a video a new tutorial
128
a new method i would always switch up my method the next day
129
because i would get so excited like yes that's that's the method that's going to fix my career
130
and i would switch and i would switch
131
and i would switch i didn't become efficient being able to knock out fades in 15 20 minutes
132
or less until i used the same system over and over
133
and over again like y 'all can see right now we're only nine minutes into the cut
134
and all i have to do is blend out that bottom line
135
so how do we do that now
136
that you're at the very bottom of this fade remember we put
137
that guideline in with the clipper closed
138
so i'm gonna return to the clipper closed i'm gonna use the corner here to break through
139
that line i'm gonna soften it up a little bit more
140
because the same principle guys remember how i said nothing fades
141
like plastic fades easier into plastic well clipper clothes is gonna
142
fade the easiest by using clipper clothes it's time to go higher, so I'm going to go a little longer with my notch.
143
I'm going to go ahead and notch one, push this fade a little higher.
144
Time to go a little higher, so I'll go a little longer, do this again.
145
Time to go higher, hit the notch one more time.
146
now remember we set that secondary guideline in with the half closed right
147
so now that i've got my clipper all the way open it can float up into and through that secondary section
148
flawlessly the next natural lowest point from the half guard closed
149
that you set that secondary guideline in with is this clipper open right here man
150
so i mean y 'all could just see right you see how well we've been able to lay this gradients
151
and we'll come we'll come behind it with the sean cuts hair shears we'll go ahead
152
and uh you know do any like little detail work
153
that we need to but honestly we're looking really smooth
154
so far this is the part here where guys i would like
155
completely destroy my fades you know i would put the line in with the trimmer
156
and it was way too sharp of a line
157
and you know i would just have to push the fade
158
so high to be able to blend out
159
that line my low fades would become high fades every time
160
and you know you're not going to keep a clientele like
161
that so that's why i switched up my methods guys
162
if you can relate to it leave a comment down below
163
and share your experience you know putting the the ball line in with the trimmer
164
whether you can do it or if you have trouble with it either way share it with everybody
165
another point
166
that i think is important to look over guys is this
167
bulk left at the very bottom you know some of you guys may think
168
that it's a very sloppy way to cut hair some people think
169
that it's lazy on the barber's end you know you just
170
don't know how to i don't know like some people really look at look down on it
171
but my perspective and and maybe this is going to make sense here in a moment
172
when you see me remove that bulk at the end i have a very adhd distraction
173
squirrel brain right i will get too distracted if i have to focus from here all the way down to here
174
versus if i can just focus my energy just in that little section right there
175
it helps me to blend out these fades so much more efficiently
176
because there's absolutely no skill required to bald out effectively right
177
so i'm gonna save all my brain power for just this little band of the fade
178
that we're working on right now i hope that makes sense leave a comment down below what you think
179
I don't know you, I don't know you, I don't know you, I don't know you,
180
I don't know you, I don't know you, I don't know you, I don't know you,
181
I don't know you, I don't know you.
182
um so now that this blend portion here is finished now we can go ahead
183
and just go through and we're going to use these fresh shears the collaboration
184
that sean cuts hair did with them i'm going to have
185
the discount code for this in the description down below it's
186
a nice triple pack bundle um you get some short shears you get some long shears
187
and you get these blending shears as well so
188
and i think my code saves like 30 or 40 bucks on
189
that so i'm gonna have that in the description down below
190
But it doesn't take a whole lot guys like literally at this point
191
We're just looking for any small areas that needs to be nitpick that
192
So we can have a smooth transition You know right here.
193
I see like a little tiny little spot.
194
I may want to hit a few times cool put your head down a little bit a
195
Lot of times this blend work is just gonna be done around the pirata ridge, you know, and if you see anything in the fade you can go ahead and grab it see
196
like i can see this i'm going to be attacking that in a little bit
197
so the key is you just comb your way up into the problem area
198
and when you see the problem area hanging over the comb that's
199
when you attack it you know you can see that lays down
200
so much better now
201
and all it took was a few sniffs same thing here
202
i'm seeing a little dark spot right there i'm gonna lift
203
it with the comb feet looking good now we're gonna get into the trimmers okay so
204
of course we got the zoom 45 trimmers baddest trimmers in the game let's go ahead
205
and start off here with the c -cup
206
sharpen up
207
that corner get a nice curve coming down here into the
208
c -cup something that's going to flow nice into the beard
209
now we can take this trimmer here
210
and this is what i was talking about earlier guys how
211
easily it can be to fade out this very bottom section here
212
there is absolutely no question how high you need to go with the trimmer
213
because you see exactly where you left off with the clipper
214
all the way closed you see how like this takes no effort at all run this trimmer right up to
215
that point and everything below it you can just blast away now i like this clipper
216
and trimmer set a lot you know it's impossible for the
217
blades to get hot literally guys i'll do you know 15 16 heads a day
218
and i never have run into a situation where i use
219
you know more than what the blades can handle of course your cool care in between
220
but you're talking about using one clipper one trimmer one shaver all day every day
221
that's impressive guys you can charge it any way you want
222
you know you could wirelessly charge it you can use the little babblers port usbc like there's
223
so many different ways to get power to these machines as
224
well um i don't know man it's it's definitely my go -to at the moment
225
so check the youtube shopping links
226
but also compare them to the the amazon prices in the description down below they don't always go on sale
227
but when they do you want to make sure
228
that you're getting the best deal possible so i'll have
229
that link in the description down below for you as well now we're looking sharp bro look at
230
that that's crispy cool you guys want to see the beard work
231
so let's do that put your chin up a little bit now this is not something
232
that i usually put in my youtube videos
233
but i'm feeling generous today guys let's go ahead
234
and you know like easiest way guys lever open no guard press it tight against the skin
235
and the same way
236
that we've floated our way up i like to float my
237
way off the head as well float my way off okay now
238
that catches all the flyaways now if we have this clipper here elevated the tilt elevated
239
we can slowly chip away at that sideburn looking cool we can see
240
that blend now that we've already done it elevated now we can flatten the clipper a little bit
241
and now we reverse we go one notch close one notch
242
close one notch close you see how we're slowly closing in on
243
that area right there one notch closed all the way closed now we can knock that out
244
and by the way guys you can do that for free in a haircut like you don't want have to
245
even
246
if a client doesn't book you know a full beard service
247
never ever leave them with a hard block there they look
248
so stupid doing that at the very least give your clients the courtesy
249
and the level of customer service required to make them feel
250
like you actually care about their appearance not just about
251
that extra five or ten bucks that you're going to get on the cut
252
so look again we're I'm going to elevate the clipper now we're going to flatten the clipper
253
and now we can go notch by notch
254
by notch by notch all the way closed now to knock
255
that out and we have a smooth gradients coming down now let's get into shaping up the actual beard itself
256
now notice guys we literally are hitting the 20 minute mark right now
257
efficiency matters guys all right put your head back your chin up high what's up bud
258
now we're talking about shaping up the beard a nice square shape is
259
so important guys so i like to comb all of this out
260
i like to put the the the wherever you want that neckline put your clipper there
261
and then slowly elevate pull out towards you after i'm done with that you can flip the clipper over
262
and just chip away at the silhouette we're very very focused here on the silhouette of this beard
263
he said i don't know if i'm walking in
264
or i got an appointment all i know is i walk
265
in i see charlie he said don't worry about it mama said don't talk to strangers
266
same thing guys and it's important to comb through a few times because look you may
267
go through comb it cut it and it looks great but then when you comb it again
268
you see more hairs poke out right so this is especially important with the beard cuts because
269
you know it's it's a much more textured hair it's a much more coarse hair
270
so let's keep on doing this guys we're gonna remove some from the bottom comb it out again
271
and chip away at the silhouette Actually,
272
before we jump into the trimmer, I'm going to go ahead and knock down the mustache a little bit.
273
Because that's another part of efficiency, guys, is like, while you have the tool in your hand, do everything that you need to with that tool while it's in your hand.
274
so you don't have to go back and forth and waste, you know, 10 seconds here, 10 seconds there.
275
Now, my goal is to make sure that this bow is nice and even like this, but it also looks good once we pick his head up.
276
So, let's go ahead and start here.
277
Let me make sure this camera angles right yeah okay we'll start here in the middle
278
Very similar to a lineup guys Start in the middle Work your way to one corner
279
Treat this like the vertical bar From the middle To the end
280
Now we'll do the same thing over here and I'll hit the line a few times.
281
I'll come back to the middle, observe it, they'll give it a few cuts while I'm I'm looking at it from the front.
282
i think it's also important guys when you're selecting a trimmer to work with
283
you need one that's not going to be ripping up the hair on your client's neck you know not every
284
trimmer is capable of of shaving away neck hair without tugging on the pores and
285
and leaving your client with a bunch of like mini cuts
286
micro abrasions you know you need something with the power you
287
need something with the the blade capability to be able to
288
give the neck a smooth shave like this without any pain
289
you know it's another reason why i like these trimmers man
290
check the link in the description man if you guys are in the market for something
291
this might be the one for you turn your head this way
292
nothing crazy on the stash guys just just even it out
293
people are not getting you know skinny mustaches anymore these days
294
I'm going to operate on the pistol and have Chester Washington Territory, and I'm going to try to get that management for Chester.
295
Wee!
296
Wee!
297
Wee!
298
Wee!
299
Wee!
300
Wee!
301
Wee!
302
while you're looking at this all from different angles too
303
this different angles is going to reveal different points of the beard that need to be sculpted
304
and you can almost hit it with a higher level of precision now that you have the the trimmer you
305
know you'd be more selective with the hairs that you're removing
306
but this is what we're looking at now guys let's go ahead and hit that sidebar and after
307
that we're good to go man we're only 27 minutes into
308
the haircut now leave a comment down below how long is it taking you guys to do your haircut
309
and beard appointments it's a valid question because you know i would say average for the industry
310
is 45 minutes but honestly hold on i don't know my camera's tripping but honestly
311
you know a lot of y 'all might be north of an hour
312
so check this out this this came with the fresh this came with the fresh package just drop
313
that razor right in there nice heavy weight
314
pick a point that is high you know unless if your client has very specific instructions for you
315
but i would say pick a point that is high on the beard
316
but also is going to give them a solid line that they can follow all the way through how you doing
317
because we could have lined the beard up all the way up here
318
but there would have been so much dead space in there
319
it's looking clean all right let's go ahead and move over to this side
320
anybody who's curious i use dorko primes puff out your cheek
321
again right here this is what i'm talking about i could
322
line him up all the way up here there's no line looks terrible right
323
so we're gonna pick a point that is high
324
but still gives a very precise a very sharp beard line let go
325
now we can also that's cool puffing out the cheek but now to create that how do you create a curve
326
with a straight blade it's stretching the skin guys so look
327
if i hold this tight
328
and i cut a straight line all the way across this
329
as i release it it creates a nice natural looking curve that perfectly complements.
330
the customer's head right so let's go ahead and chip away at the rest of this
331
uh i don't know if i mentioned already guys or not
332
but this is the blade
333
that comes with the sean cuts hair triple pack um you get the three shears you get the nice carrying case
334
but they also complementarily include this razor holder now guys this
335
is the finished product man i really appreciate you guys sticking through this tutorial please leave a comment down below
336
and let me know were you able to pick up on some techniques
337
that you were not previously familiar with
338
and did you gain a better understanding of why i do things how i do
339
and also leave a comment down below let me know
340
if this is something you think is going to help you in your barbershop process
341
and your efficiency man i'm really looking forward to hearing from you guys
342
and i teach all day every day how to cut hair more efficiently
343
but if you're in the market for more business coaching you're in the barbershop
344
but you're having trouble taking your income to the next level that's another thing
345
that i can help you with guys i am a coach
346
in the six figure barber mentorship i have the link in the description down below
347
so if you want to take the 245 six figure barber mentorship course
348
and have me personally coach you through it this is definitely
349
something i can do hit the link in the description below
350
uh yeah i look forward to seeing you guys there man thank you
351
so much for subscribing watching share this with a friend that you think can benefit from this information.

  • Break down: Zersetzen, erklären. "Wir werden ein einfaches System break down" – hier bedeutet es, eine Methode Schritt für Schritt erklären.
  • Skin tight: Hauteng. "Diese Fade wird skin tight" – beschreibt eine Frisur, die eng an der Kopfhaut anliegt.
  • Chip away at: Stück für Stück bearbeiten. "Ich arbeite chipping away at it" – bedeutet, langsam und präzise an etwas herangehen.
  • Float up and off: Sanft nach oben bewegen und vom Kopf abheben. "Ich float it up and off the head" – eine Bewegungstechnik bei der Frisur.

  • Betonung: Im Satz "it's too harsh of a line" wird "harsh" betont – dies betont die Problematik.
