1
Hello everyone and welcome back to the channel IELTS with Charles.
2
Today guys we are looking at the hottest topic of all and one of my personal favorites the topic of travel.
3
While discussing this topic I want to explain something to you and that is the power of giving personal examples.
4
Remember in part one we are trying to introduce ourselves
5
and therefore if If you can give a little example to support your idea, it really makes you stand out.
6
But be careful with your tenses when giving examples, especially with the past tense.
7
So while listening, I want you to be aware of my final sounds.
8
Without further ado, guys, let's have a look at the topic of travel.
9
Question one.
10
Why is it important to travel?
11
Well, getting away from it all is essential, not only because we can discover new cultures,
12
but also we can try new mouth-watering cuisine.
13
For instance, last year I travelled to the traditional city of Hue and sampled the local Bumbu Hue,
14
which tasted non-delicious.
15
Number two.
16
Which places have you visited in your country?
17
Well, I have been very fortunate.
18
I have travelled to the breathtaking views of Dalat.
19
Moreover, I have visited the golden sandy beaches of Nghietrang.
20
But for me, my favorite place has to be the cultural capital of Vietnam, Hanoi.
21
Because I can vividly remember last year, I enjoyed a special romantic time around the lakes in Hanoi with my girlfriend,
22
the person I love most in the world.
23
Number three.
24
Would you like to live abroad?
25
Why or why not?
26
Yes, absolutely.
27
Nothing would give me more pleasure than to reside in a foreign country, specifically London in England.
28
Why?
29
Well, because I dream of enriching my knowledge about the English language.
30
Moreover, I would love to have a cup of tea with King Charles.
31
What things would you recommend a foreign tourist do in your country?
32
For me, I would suggest an international visitor.
33
Explores the breathtaking countryside of Vietnam.
34
Moreover, I would also recommend that they immerse themselves in the local culture.
35
Specifically, they should hire a motorbike and explore the stunning villages around Da Nang.
36
Especially, they should visit Hoi An and get a new suit made.
37
These unforgettable memories are something you simply can't put a price on.
38
Number 5.
39
Have you ever had any problems while you were traveling?
40
Oh yes, absolutely.
41
I can vividly remember when I visited Japan and I had a big issue.
42
I was in the local train station and I really needed the toilet, but unfortunately I could not speak Japanese.
43
In that moment I felt shock and despair.
44
I did not know what to do.
45
But thankfully, a charming local guided me in the right direction.
46
So guys, you notice with those answers, I tried to give examples to support my ideas.
47
Now, you don't need to do this for every question like I just did.
48
I just wanted to give you some inspiration.
49
But a little example in the past tense to support your idea will go a long way.
50
Moreover, advanced tip.
51
You notice with the final question about problems that I'd had while traveling, this is a negative question.
52
So you notice that my voice was slightly lower
53
and I stressed my ideas to show that this was a rather embarrassing moment I experienced in Japan.
54
Remember, try to make your answers feel natural in a chatty style in part one.
55
As always guys, please leave a comment down below
56
and let me know where is the best place you have traveled in your life.
