Shadowing-Übung: If I Had to Learn English Again, This Is Exactly What I'd Do !! - Englisch Sprechen Lernen mit Video

Lektion wird erstellt...
1
If I had to start from scratch and learn English again today, this is exactly what I'd do.
2
This is the roadmap I would follow.
3
The interesting thing is, I never actually had to do that.
4
I studied in an English medium school, so English became a part of my life from a very young age.
5
I never had to sit down and ask myself, what's the fastest way to become fluent?
6
But for most people, especially here in India, that's not the reality.
7
Most of us have studied English for years.
8
We have learned grammar, we have memorized vocabulary, we have passed English exams.
9
And yet, when someone suddenly asks, can you tell me about yourself, our mind goes blank.
10
If that's ever happened to you, you're definitely not alone.
11
Over the last few years, I have spoken to hundreds of English learners on this channel.
12
Some could understand almost everything but couldn't speak Others knew grammar better than I did But froze during a simple conversation
13
And after listening to so many of their stories I realized something The biggest problem isn't
14
that people don't know enough English The biggest problem is they don't have a road map Everyone tells you to learn vocabulary,
15
improve your grammar Watch English movies, read English books
16
practice speaking all of that is good advice
17
but very few people tell you what should come first what should come next
18
and what actually deserves most of your time
19
so in this video i'm going to share the exact roadmap i would follow
20
if i had to become fluent as an adult no shortcuts
21
no unrealistic promises just the smartest most practical roadmap i'd follow based on everything
22
i have learned from speaking to a lot of english learners
23
by the end of this video you'll know the five step
24
roadmap i'd follow what i would stop wasting time on
25
and the exact 45 minute focused practice routine i would use to improve consistently
26
so let's begin step one i would train my ears before i train my mouth now this might surprise you
27
because most learners think if I want to speak English, I should start by speaking.
28
Sounds logical, right?
29
But the learners who struggle the most with speaking usually don't spend enough time listening.
30
Think about it.
31
Imagine someone asks you to sing a song you have not heard before.
32
Could you do it?
33
Probably not.
34
First you listen to it, then you become familiar with it.
35
Only after hearing it several times can you sing it confidently
36
english works in a similar way before your mouth becomes comfortable
37
speaking your ears need to become comfortable hearing english now here's
38
the mistake many learners make they open a hollywood movie they understand almost nothing they feel frustrated
39
and they conclude that english is too difficult no the content was too difficult
40
if i were learning english today i would choose content where
41
i understand around 70 to 80 percent not every single word just enough to follow the message why
42
because that's when your brain starts noticing patterns you begin recognizing common expressions you start understanding pronunciation naturally
43
and without even realizing it you're probably preparing yourself to speak now you might ask so should i listen all day No,
44
listening alone won't make you fluent, but it builds the foundation speaking becomes much easier
45
when your brain has already heard English thousands of times
46
so every single day I would spend a lot of time
47
listening to English I can mostly understand not passively I'd actually pay attention I try to understand the message
48
and here's a small tip that I think can make a huge difference.
49
Don't keep changing videos every two minutes.
50
Find one interesting video or one conversation and listen to it more than once.
51
The first time, just understand the idea.
52
The second time, notice useful expressions.
53
The third time, pay attention to pronunciation.
54
You'll be surprised how much you missed the first time.
55
This video explains the best free resources for listening practice check it out
56
so this would be my first step train my ears
57
because once i understand english better everything else becomes easier
58
but now comes the part where i think most learners wait for too long
59
and honestly this is the biggest reason they stay stuck now let's talk about
60
that step two i would start speaking long before i felt
61
ready now this is where i think most learners lose months
62
sometimes even years they keep telling themselves i'll start speaking after i improve my grammar
63
or after i learn more vocabulary or i'll start speaking
64
when i become confident
65
but let me ask you something how many people have you
66
met who have been preparing to speak English for the last maybe months
67
or years quite a few right the problem isn't preparation the
68
problem is they never moved beyond preparation in my experience I
69
have noticed one pattern the people who improve the fastest are
70
the ones who start using the English they already know remember
71
most of us in India are not starting from zero we
72
already know many English words the real challenge isn't learning English it's using English so
73
if I had to learn English today I wouldn't wait until
74
I felt confident I'd create confidence by speaking a little every
75
single day I'd start by talking to myself yes it's one of the safest ways to practice for example
76
while making tea I might say I'm making tea I need
77
to leave in 20 minutes I forgot to charge my phone
78
simple thoughts simple sentences no pressure then i'd answer one
79
or two questions every day because asking questions
80
and answering them is important too like what was the best
81
part of my day what am i doing tomorrow what did
82
i learn today notice something none of these questions require advanced english they require simple english used consistently
83
and that's exactly what builds fluency
84
and today i definitely use ai it's one of the easiest
85
ways to get speaking practice whenever you want for example check
86
out this ai known as sparky it has conversations with you rectifies your mistakes tells you why
87
and where you're going wrong it provides the reading articles and it provides translation from different languages like hindi Canada,
88
Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, etc. Helping you understand English better if you are an absolute beginner.
89
It also provides shadowing practice through repeat and speak and a lot more.
90
If you want to check out the AI, I have left the link in the description box.
91
Along with that, I'd read a short paragraph aloud because it helps your mouth get used to producing English sounds.
92
And finally, I'd spend a few minutes shadowing.
93
If you've ever tried shadowing, it's very simple.
94
Just play one sentence, pause, repeat it immediately, try to copy the pronunciation, rhythm and emotion.
95
Because here's something I wish every learner understood.
96
Fluency doesn't come from knowing more it comes from using more
97
and that's why speaking even for 10 to 15 minutes a
98
day is far more valuable than waiting for the perfect time step three i would stop memorizing words
99
and start collecting sentences let me explain this with an example
100
suppose i teach you this word recommend now imagine someone asks
101
you what movie should i watch this weekend will your brain
102
automatically remember the word recommend maybe maybe not now listen to this i highly recommend watching this movie
103
or i'd highly i definitely recommend reading this book see the
104
difference you didn't just learn one word you learned how people actually use it
105
and that's exactly how i would learn vocabulary not one word at a time one useful sentence at a time
106
because every sentence teaches you four things together vocabulary grammar pronunciation
107
and sentence structure it's like getting four lessons for the price
108
of one in fact think about your own conversations nobody speaks
109
one word at a time we speak in chunks we say
110
things like to be honest it depends i'm not sure we never thought about it like
111
that these are the expressions that make conversation sound natural
112
so instead of asking yourself how many new words did i learn today
113
ask yourself what useful sentence can i use today that's a much better question
114
because your goal isn't to win a vocabulary competition your goal is to communicate
115
and communicating happens through sentences not isolated words
116
so from today whenever you hear a sentence
117
that makes you think oh i could actually use that write it down build your own collection of useful sentences
118
i promise you six months from now those sentences will help
119
you much more than a notebook filled with random vocabulary now
120
by this point you will understand english better you will be speaking a little every day
121
and you'll have a growing collection of useful sentences most people
122
think okay now i just need to keep studying actually this
123
is the stage where i would do something completely different
124
because this next step is where real confidence begins step four i would have real conversations even
125
if my english wasn't perfect this is the step where everything
126
starts coming together you have spent time listening you started speaking
127
every day you've been learning useful sentences instead of random words now it's time to use all of the
128
that and here's the biggest mistake i see learners make they think i'll start having conversations after i become fluent
129
but think about it how can conversations be the reward for fluency
130
when conversations are the ones that create fluency
131
if i waited until i was fluent i'd probably never start
132
so instead i would start small a five minute conversation maybe talk to a friend
133
or talk to another English learner because today it's easier than ever to find partners to practice English.
134
This video explains free websites for conversation practice.
135
Check it out.
136
Remember the goal isn't to impress anyone.
137
The goal is to get comfortable expressing your thoughts.
138
Every conversation teaches you something.
139
Maybe you realize, I don't know how to express my opinions.
140
Great.
141
Now you know what to practice.
142
Maybe you keep repeating the same words.
143
Perfect.
144
Now you know what vocabulary you actually need.
145
That's why conversations are so powerful.
146
They don't just improve your English.
147
They show you exactly what to improve next.
148
and once you know your weak areas your learning becomes much more focused
149
so don't wait until you feel ready start before you are
150
ready that's how confidence is built step five i would start living english now we have reached the final step
151
and honestly i think this is the habit
152
that keeps people improving even after the video ends most learners study
153
or practice english for 30
154
or 40 minutes then english disappears until the next day i
155
do the opposite instead of finding more study time i would
156
bring english into the things i'm already doing for example i'd
157
change my phone language to english i'd search google in english
158
if i watch your if i wanted a recipe
159
or wanted to learn something new i would watch a video
160
in english these are things i'm already doing every day i'm just changing the language
161
and that makes a huge difference
162
because little by little english stops feeling like a school subject
163
it starts feeling like a part of your everyday life
164
and that's exactly what fluency is not knowing every grammar rule
165
but being able to use english naturally without overthinking every sentence
166
so what would my 45 minute focused practice routine look like
167
now ideally i wouldn't limit english to just 45 minutes a
168
day i try to live english throughout the day by changing
169
my phone language searching in english consuming content in english whenever i could but sometimes
170
if i had only 45 focused minutes each day this is
171
exactly how i would spend them 15 minutes listening actively something
172
i understand around 70 to 80 percent not too easy not
173
too difficult i'd focus on understanding the message 15 minutes speaking talking to myself shadowing answering questions
174
or having a short conversation with a friend
175
or ai 10 minutes reading short article a conversation a story
176
while reading i'd look for useful sentences not difficult words 5
177
minutes review i would go through the sentences i collected that day
178
if you do this every single day for the next six months your English will not be the same not
179
because this routine is magical but because it's realistic
180
and realistic routines are the ones people actually follow before I
181
finish I want to leave you with one final thought for years I couldn't understand why
182
so many people struggled with English because my journey was different but after speaking to hundreds of learners, I understand it much better now.
183
Most people don't need more information.
184
What they need is a clear direction.
185
So if I had to learn English again today, this is exactly the roadmap I would follow.
186
Now, I would love to hear from you.
187
Which of these five steps do you think you've been ignoring, listening, speaking, real conversations or making English a part of your daily life?
188
Let me know in the comments.
189
And if you know someone who has been learning English for years but still feel stuck, share this video with them.
190
It might be actually the roadmap they needed.
191
Thank you so much for watching.
192
I'll see you in the next video.
193
Take care and keep learning.
