1
UX09 Samurai Saber is a right spin attack bay from Beyblade X's second season.
2
And not only does it pack one of the first major blade gimmicks of the entire series,
3
it also has a brand new type of launcher.
4
Samurai is easily one of the most interesting releases of the entire year,
5
but is the performance bad or simply on another level?
6
Get it?
7
Because the bit is called level.
8
Let's move on.
9
The Samurai Saber Deluxe Starter released on November 2nd of 2024,
10
and it has the brand new Samurai Saber Bay as well as the new Hold Launcher,
11
which could be pretty huge for all those Winder Launcher fans.
12
So hit that like button,
13
hit subscribe to join the Nook Nation,
14
and now let's talk about the Bay.
15
Looking at the box first,
16
you can see not only the Bay,
17
but the massive advertising for the new Hold Launcher
18
which is pretty much just the return of the Sword Launcher from Beyblade Burst.
19
It's definitely a little bit more interesting than that,
20
though, so we'll talk about that when we get to it.
21
If you guys are interested in getting Samurai Saber or any of the brand new X releases,
22
make sure to go and check out sponsor the channel Mall of Toys.
23
They have these new bays like Samurai,
24
Nightmail, and Crimson Garuda up for sale right now.
25
So go and check them out,
26
link in the description down below,
27
and make sure to use code ILINUK to get 5% off.
28
And on the back of the box,
29
not only do you see all of the different parts of Samurai Saber,
30
as well as their connected stats,
31
you also see the portrait for the character that uses Samurai,
32
whose name is Tenka.
33
I don't want to spoil too much about her character and her involvement in season two,
34
but she is a pretty major character,
35
so it's a pretty major release.
36
But now let's dive straight into the box,
37
and the very first thing we're going to look at is the new hold launcher.
38
Just to be kind of simple about this launcher,
39
it's pretty much just a grip and winder launcher fused together.
40
However, you do have a different orientation of launching.
41
Instead of pulling the towards you,
42
it goes out to the side, which I definitely prefer.
43
Although there are some people out there that don't like that style as much.
44
With all of the grips that I've released from Beyblade X so far,
45
they either haven't had any accessories at all,
46
or they've been these little little thin pieces of plastic.
47
But here on the Hold Launcher,
48
we get the very first rubber grip accessories, which is huge.
49
I'm not sure if many people will love the purple color.
50
I don't know if I'm gonna use it because it doesn't go with my setup,
51
but it is really nice to see
52
and I hope we get more rubber grips in the future
53
and then maybe metal grips if you want something a bit heavier.
54
It's just the right direction.
55
Let's also look at the Hold Launcher's ripcord.
56
It's going to be a little bit longer than your standard ripcord and the very top of it is a different shape.
57
While standard winder cords have a loop for you to grab,
58
this one is designed more like a string launcher, which is fine.
59
I don't really know why they made the change.
60
Maybe it looks more like a sword.
61
I don't know.
62
Let me know what you guys think in the comments.
63
If you don't want to use this hold launcher ripcord on this new launcher,
64
and you want to use it on your own setup,
65
you can do that as well as they are perfectly cross compatible.
66
But now let's move on to the actual bay itself.
67
And the very first piece we're going to look at is a three in one style bit with L or level.
68
Level is definitely pretty interesting because it has three different modes in one
69
that just kind of depend on how you actually launch the bay.
70
So if you look at the outer ring.
71
It's going to be very jagged,
72
very aggressive, very tooth-like, and as you get more into the middle, it really simplifies.
73
It kind of seems like an upgraded version of Point,
74
maybe, but I don't know if the performance is going to be as good.
75
The current Beyblade X meta seems to prefer consistency over anything else,
76
so whenever you have a bit that has three different modes of play,
77
it might not be as popular.
78
Next up, we have the Ratchet, which is 270.
79
And as of right now,
80
this is absolutely the weakest part of the entire bay.
81
260 originally released on Cobalt Dragoon.
82
And while it has a interesting looking design,
83
because those outer prongs are so big,
84
it's just like your bay has an extra target and it makes the bay worse by making its burst resistance worse.
85
And what makes 270 a little bit more disappointing,
86
specifically on Samurai Saber, is that the two larger areas of the ratchet aren't really covered up by the blade at all.
87
So I think this is going to be a major weak spot for at least the stock combo of the bay.
88
Although the clear and lime neon green color is,
89
uh, it's nice, I guess.
90
But now let's finally move on to the blade itself,
91
which is Samurai Saber.
92
And the design here is definitely really interesting.
93
It looks really cool as well.
94
You have two major blades,
95
which is supposed to look like katanas.
96
It's the whole point of the design.
97
I also like the shape of Samurai as well.
98
It's in this more oblong or diamond shape,
99
kind of like Heal Shark or Shark Edge.
100
However, the blades definitely kind of round off a little bit,
101
which might not be the best for all-out attack,
102
but we're just going to have to wait and see.
103
So the entire gimmick for Samurai Saber is
104
that there's these two little pieces of metal that will pop out whenever you launch your bay.
105
There were some questions on whether or not this mode change was manual
106
or if after the battle you'd have to push the little wing pieces back in.
107
And that's not how it is.
108
It just kind of freely flies out of there depending on how fast your bay is spinning.
109
So I don't know how effective the gimmick actually is.
110
And I think samurai would be even better for attack if that gimmick wasn't there at all.
111
Because these little pieces of metal,
112
they kind of round the blade out,
113
which isn't good for attack.
114
At least I don't think.
115
The weight for samurai is also pretty decent as well.
116
Mine's around 36.4 or 0.5 grams.
117
Definitely not the heaviest blade out there.
118
Like Whale Wave for me is 38.4.
119
My Arrow Pegasus is 38.2.
120
So 36.4 isn't huge, but it's not light.
121
But whenever we put the entire combo of Samurai Saber together,
122
it does look really nice.
123
I really like this more unique color scheme of this neon green with purple.
124
It looks really good, even though that's a different color scheme than Samurai Steel,
125
which is sort of like a pre-evolution to Saber, sort of.
126
Samurai Steel was a more generic red and blue,
127
which some people do like a little bit better,
128
but I like Samurai Saber's purple and green.
129
It's just, it's more unique,
130
especially when the team persona members are red, blue, and yellow.
131
Having a purple and green just kind of rounds that out nicely.
132
But now let's put the bay to the test to see if the stock combo is any good at all.
133
And then we'll try a round or two with a maybe competitive combo and see how that goes.
134
Two.
135
Oh, okay.
136
Okay.
137
Two.
138
Ohhhhhhh!
139
Okay!
140
What?
141
What's that noise?
142
Hear that?
143
What is that?
144
What?
145
What?
146
How did it?
147
What?
148
Come on.
149
Oh, oh.
150
Oh, oh.
151
And...
152
Kind of a lame battle.
153
One, two.
154
Oh!
155
What?
156
Dude!
157
What the heck?
158
That counts as a win for me.
159
I won.
160
I won.
161
How?
162
You burst!
163
I'm the people's champion.
164
No, you burst.
165
I'm the people's champion.
166
You burst.
167
One, two.
168
Oh!
169
Uh, one.
170
Oh.
171
Oh, come on.
172
There we go.
173
Okay, okay.
174
I don't think Samurai has this.
175
Place your bets.
176
Who's gonna win?
177
Me.
178
And the winner is...
179
I won.
180
I won.
181
I won.
182
Let's...
183
What?
184
Oh!
185
Extreme dash for Samurai.
186
One.
187
No. The wizard's just avoiding.
188
Oh.
189
And I don't know if Samurai has the stamina for this.
190
Oh.
191
Let's try it again.
192
One.
193
Oh, okay, well.
194
So now we're gonna try a maybe more competitive Samurai combo,
195
it's on 960 and point,
196
up against Wizard Rod 960 ball.
197
I don't know if this is a great combo for Samurai,
198
but hopefully it's better than the stock one.
199
One, oh.
200
Oh, okay.
201
Is a more competitive Samurai enough to take on the King Wizard Rod?
202
Not, uh, not the most exciting battle, that's, that's for sure.
203
Um, maybe, no. Okay, alright.
204
Let's see.
205
Whoa, there we go.
206
Good hits.
207
Okay, okay, maybe, maybe.
208
So what did you guys think of the battles?
209
Overall, I think Samurai Saber in its stock combo isn't the most amazing thing,
210
although Although the 270 ratchet is really ruining this combo,
211
if you were to put almost any other ratchet in there in its place,
212
I think it would do way better.
213
I don't know how I feel about the level bit either.
214
It seems like Samurai Saber did better on a more simple point bit,
215
but I'd have to do more testing.
216
And finally, for the Samurai Saber blade,
217
I think it did okay could definitely hit pretty hard,
218
although stamina was a bit of an issue,
219
and I don't think it's as aggressive as Arrow Pegasus,
220
maybe even Phoenix Wing, or Duran Buster.
221
It's just not going to hit quite as hard,
222
so is it going to be top tier?
223
I kind of don't think so,
224
but the hold launcher is great,
225
especially the little rubber accessories you get with it.
226
The extended ripcord is nice,
227
and there could definitely be some competitive appeal with Samurai Saber,
228
but we're going to have to do more testing over time.
229
But that is going to wrap up this video.
