1
The ancient city.
2
Who built it?
3
What happened to it?
4
What is the warden?
5
And where does the portal go?
6
I'm here to answer none of these questions.
7
I'm just here to restore the city.
8
In all seriousness, I love the ancient city.
9
It is a very awesome place.
10
Since the first time I saw it, I wanted to restore the city to its former glory.
11
I actually played for 100 days doing exactly that in survival mode.
12
You guys might want to give that a watch afterwards if you like.
13
But I have returned once more.
14
Just this time I'm in creative mode and together we're gonna flip this place
15
and I don't sell it for double value Yes
16
So I just loaded up a random seed
17
and teleported it to the nearest the Asian city all the cities aren't the same But this one seems fine enough, so Where do I begin?
18
Hmm Where do I begin?
19
I guess the most reasonable thing will be by removing all of the sculpt and other sculpt blocks Yeah, yeah, that would be a good start
20
So I replaced all the sculpt blocks with the deep slate
21
and other blocks with just air
22
and just look at all the sculpt disappearing It's actually very satisfying to look at
23
and this place Wow I mean just look at this place it already looks much better and we have barely started Okay, so before we move on there's one thing I quickly would like to do first
24
and that is to increase the ceiling height It's not terrible right now There are just certain places
25
and especially around a center portal that I would like to have a higher ceiling
26
so that the portal will be clearly visible from any direction in the city.
27
And instead of everything being deep slate and dark, I used some dripstone blocks.
28
But this is just a start, I'm not finished here.
29
I'm going to return to the ceiling later in the video and make it more pretty.
30
And that is going to be pretty nice.
31
Okay, so let's actually restore something.
32
And I will begin with something simple.
33
And that is these columns next to the city entrance.
34
The goal here is not to change the structures, just mainly adding the missing blocks.
35
Still, I would like to put some life to it.
36
So I did add some tiny extra details such as these new trapdoors.
37
I don't know, I kind of like them.
38
They might become a theme down here in the ancient city.
39
Let us continue working on the city entrance.
40
And I began by fixing the main center path.
41
Even through some wood flooring in there too.
42
Then I actually added grass blocks to the ground and it changed everything.
43
I mean, it looks so different and nice now.
44
And then I thought it would be cool if we had a big water pond here at the edge.
45
I mean, it's very likely that the ancient city people had access to water.
46
So yeah, they used to have water here, I have decided.
47
And now there's just one final thing to do, and that is to fix the scouting tower.
48
Just look at how it used to be and how it is now.
49
That is a big transformation.
50
Next thing I want to tackle are the city walls, and they are all over the place down here.
51
But once I've restored a single piece, I can just copy and paste it through the other sections.
52
There was also a really cool gate bridge here that was mostly intact, so that didn't take long to restore
53
and next to the walls was a portal statue that I also restored and rotated in a better position.
54
Now this corner of the city is complete.
55
Before I moved on, I returned back to the entrance pillars
56
and added a blue flame to the top of all of them.
57
Since there's blue flames below the portal, I thought it would be fitting with some extra blue flames up here too.
58
The key, I kind of broke my own rule here on this next build.
59
There was just a random wall section that felt a bit out of place.
60
So I deleted it and built something else original.
61
I was not supposed to do that, but I really wanted to have a wheat farm area, and I built something that was inspired and looked similar to other ancient structures, so nothing too fancy.
62
And I may have built a long road too.
63
I don't know, there might have been plenty of roads
64
and paths here in the ancient city before it got destroyed and infested with skull.
65
I'm pushing forward, and I slightly changed the position of this wall here to fit with the previous area, and I made it unbroken.
66
Also added a long but tiny river, just to make it nicer.
67
Then I moved and began restoring a new structure called the barracks.
68
Again, I'm mostly adding blocks to the destroy sections and adding tiny extra details and this thing is coming together.
69
Then I also placed down a ruin that I believe used to be a house at some point.
70
There we go, we got a barracks and a house here.
71
The barracks is a very cool structure.
72
It has two entry points, two chests, a skeleton skull, can you believe that?
73
And a nice portal statue.
74
The ruin that I turned into a house also has a chest.
75
I even placed some blue carpet on the floor.
76
You can find those carpets here in the city, In places where they actually don't fit.
77
So I imagine the people here took the carpet from the house and used it to sneak around in the city.
78
So I realized that my ancient city was actually missing a couple of structures.
79
And I would like to have all of the main structures here in my city.
80
So I just randomly flew away in spectator mode and I found a new ancient city.
81
I don't know what to say.
82
I need you guys to fill me in here.
83
I found an ancient city that had two center portals.
84
Uh, that is not supposed to happen, right?
85
Is this one city or is this two cities that have somehow merged together?
86
What is the spawn rate or rarity of the ancient cities?
87
I am somewhat confused here.
88
I'm not even done I found a few structures, but I want them more so I flew away
89
and within a few blocks I ended up in another ancient city
90
So apparently there are three cities extremely close to one another and two of them are even merged.
91
That is crazy, right?
92
But anyhow, I got the structures that I needed
93
and I went back to my ancient city I was originally going to wait a bit longer with this one
94
But I decided to do the center portal now easily the
95
most time-consuming transformation of them all I went through all of the outer walls and fixed them.
96
That sure took a long time
97
And I thought it would be nice with some greenery right below the portal too
98
And the portal itself needed much work and I tried highlighting certain spots
99
and brightening it up more I was not sure what to do at the bottom, but I made some water canals I thought it was cool
100
and to finish up the center portal I added a blue
101
tinted glass in the center to simulate an active portal I'm really happy with this
102
and I must show you guys how I used to look before I arrived
103
and how it looks now What do you guys think?
104
If you guys are happy with the results so far, please drop a like for me.
105
Great, so now I just continued expanding the wall and I slightly moved a ruined structure and began restoring it.
106
I like to think that this was some sort of a worshipping place.
107
I mean, I bet the people down here in the Asian city used to be very religious.
108
And once I was done, I moved on and placed a different destroyed structure in the corner of the city.
109
This one looked more like a house to me, so I rebuilt it as one.
110
You may ask yourself, why do these houses have roof?
111
And I think even though they're not getting rain, it's nice to have a roof.
112
And also the dripstone.
113
You won't get that dripping down on you.
114
But yeah, once that was done, I made a simple but nice path.
115
The next structure is very cool, and that is the big tower.
116
It was actually missing from my city, and I found it while exploring the other cities earlier.
117
And wow, this one was basically not destroyed whatsoever, so there was little for me to do.
118
I only fixed a few broken parts, added lights, and added some carpets.
119
And yeah, that was basically it.
120
Before I tackle the next structure, I moved on and expanded my walls.
121
I would say that the half of the city now is basically restored.
122
That is very good.
123
Right next to where I placed the big tower, there was a ruin.
124
Perhaps it used to be a temple.
125
It kind of looks like one.
126
A very cool structure and I love the gate in the front.
127
Once again, with everything I've done so far, I'm mostly just adding the missing blocks with some extra touches.
128
I keep the shape and layout the same.
129
And to finish this area here, I made a path connecting these structures to the walls.
130
Let's just take a moment to appreciate and look at this temple.
131
I really hope you guys have enjoyed the video so far.
132
And once it's done, I have a couple of other videos that you might like.
133
Like when I built a Jurassic Park or the Squid Game and a zoo.
134
Something to think about.
135
But enough of that, let's move on.
136
There's an open space here.
137
And I know exactly what structure I would like to have here.
138
There's a house of some sort that you can find here in the ancient city that has two floors.
139
I'm not sure what this could be.
140
A hotel, a motel, or maybe just a big family house.
141
No idea.
142
And it wasn't in a terrible state.
143
Just a lot of skulk blocks.
144
So once I removed that and added the proper blocks back, I went around replacing the lanterns.
145
I fixed the balconies and added wood flooring and carpet around.
146
Also made the outside part a bit nicer.
147
And there it is.
148
A hotel, a motel, a house, a big house, who knows.
149
Now this next structure is the biggest structure besides the portal that you can find down here in the ancient city.
150
And it's probably one of the most unique ones as well.
151
It is a huge spa.
152
Yes, they actually had a big spa with a pool and a hot tub.
153
The ancient peoples were really enjoying life until, well, they didn't anymore.
154
This one wasn't in too bad shape either.
155
Just a couple of blocks that were missing, and the two rooms in the middle needed some work.
156
And the other walls?
157
Yeah, this structure apparently had very long and tall walls.
158
I guess privacy was very important to the Asian people.
159
Look at this, the spa quickly took shape, and I actually ended up using the same big road that I have outside.
160
And I quickly restored this barracks with the one that I restored.
161
And at the end of the road, I added the wash tower.
162
Well, well, well, well, the spa is back in business, and people can finally once again enjoy a warm bath.
163
How about that?
164
So this area is almost complete.
165
I just need to connect the path and fix this wall here.
166
I also copy and pasted one of the houses that I built earlier.
167
And yeah, I think I'm finished here.
168
Looks good.
169
In the ancient city, there were these tiny pillars that I have somehow overlooked.
170
So I quickly restored one and placed it next to the wheat farm.
171
And added a bunch of trees behind it.
172
The next structure we will work on is the icebox.
173
And it's basically just one huge freezer.
174
What they're reasoning for having this is beyond me.
175
Perhaps you guys know.
176
But I like it.
177
I like it being very mysterious and weird.
178
Anyhow, I placed it in the left corner of the center portal.
179
The general surface down here in Asian City has been very flat all around, and I don't really like that too much, so I built the icebox slightly higher up.
180
It was mainly just the entrance that needed the most attention, but I did replace a lot of cobblestone with bricks to make it look overall nicer.
181
And once I was done with the icebox, I copied and pasted a big tower on the right side, and a tiny pillar on the left side.
182
And in the corner, there were something there.
183
It was a structure which was full of wool, And I honestly had no idea what to do with this.
184
At first I thought it was a wool storage.
185
But once I actually removed the wool.
186
I realized this was some sort of social space.
187
Because beneath all of this wool.
188
There was a bench and a campfire.
189
Very nice.
190
So I guess this is some sort of social space.
191
I still ended up adding some wool back.
192
As I kind of liked having it.
193
And because I used to have it before.
194
We're back in the city entrance in the left corner.
195
There wasn't much space here.
196
So I decided to do my own thing here.
197
And make a hill with a tiny temple.
198
You know for those who want to get somewhat far away from the noise
199
and praying or maybe you just want to go fishing
200
or dive into the water you could do that as well
201
and we're getting awful close to the end it may have seemed fast for you guys
202
but i think i spent up to like 20
203
or 30 hours on this
204
and now i'm adding some of the final structures here in
205
the ancient city i think i've covered all of them now there are some ruins
206
that are just random place blocks that uh
207
that i honestly have no idea what they used to be
208
but i do imagine they were just houses then it's just the final corner
209
and we're mostly done i just restored the barracks added a camp, place down some lava, and restore the temple at the very edge.
210
I'm so hyped for the before and after shots, but before I can show you guys that, I must fix the ceiling, and I would like this cave to be a mix of lush cave and dripstone cave,
211
so I spent some time adding that all over the place here.
212
The glowing berries won't light up or grow right away, I just hope they won't go too far down, but we will see.
213
I'm sorry.
214
you Alright,
215
that's it guys.
216
We have done it!
217
We have restored the Asian City, at least the way I think it used to look.
218
And I just want to give you guys a quick tour.
219
I did have some glow squids, but they all disappeared?
220
I don't know where they went.
221
But yes, this is how I imagined Asian City would have looked if it weren't destroyed by the Skulk.
222
And the Warden and stuff.
223
And I gotta say, I love the dripstone and Lush Cave.
224
Looks so nice.
225
And of course, thank you guys so much for watching
226
and I want to give a huge shout out to my
227
Patreon supporters as well You you will get this map
228
and the map will also be available on my Nexus store So if you want to go grab it, you can do it I think it will include a schematic
229
if it's possible So you can like paste in the ancient city wherever you like
230
or just use the same world seed the same world save I mean, yeah, that's pretty much it flying around.
231
Here's like the temple just ended up flowing some water behind it We have lava pounds, we gotta keep it warm in here.
232
Here's a two story building.
233
We got a barracks with mini barracks actually.
234
And here's a camp.
235
There's another temple and a temple here.
236
I think there are temples.
237
The big watchtower.
238
And we have some houses.
239
Lava.
240
I forgot one thing.
241
Damn it.
242
I did add sheeps but I didn't add any other animals.
243
I was supposed to add cows.
244
I bet they had all types of animals. But I...
245
Okay, it's only sheeps.
246
Sorry.
247
And here we got another barracks and a watchtower, a small scouting tower, I guess.
248
And here's a spa, a big spa with a pool and a hot tub.
249
Very nice.
250
And here's the icebox.
251
No idea what that is for.
252
You guys better film me.
253
That's pretty much it, you guys.
254
Oh, and I actually did add some extra lights around the photo.
255
I guess I can show the entrance.
256
I don't think I showed it clearly, but I made two entry points here too.
257
to go in here
258
and uh i haven't changed anything on the inside with all the red stones
259
and i don't know i have no idea what's in here
260
but i didn't i did i did not touch it only
261
thing i did was outside i made some better way up to the wall
262
and the bridge is still here i did a bell
263
here you can see the portal it's just glass obviously again thank you guys
264
so much for watching i'm glad you watched the entire thing please subscribe
265
and drop a like for me i do a lot of building timelapse builds like this one
266
and I do a bunch of PvP survival videos, like fun videos where me and a couple of friends go together and I don't know, do a fun theme.
267
Like the next one is gonna be Purge.
268
Let me tell you, it was really fun.
269
So we all joined this one server together and we had to play peacefully for seven days, seven real days.
270
But on the last day, the Purge started.
271
That means that people can do whatever they want.
272
They can grieve, they can kill and the The purge will last for 3 hours
273
and I guess the goal is to survive.
274
There can be multiple survivors but I wouldn't say more than that.
275
You guys just gotta wait and see.
276
It's gonna be a lot of fun.

(Ancient city)
(Sculpt blocks)
(Ceiling height)
(Columns next to the city entrance)
(Water pond)
(Restore)
(Add details)
(Grass blocks)
