Hi, my name is Evie and this is a video to help you learn English and to practice your listening comprehension.
2
today i am going to film a video about how i do my makeup um
3
and i need to do my hair as well
4
so let's go so or should i start with my hair
5
because this is literally a mess
6
so i have a fringe that's this hair at the front here
7
and it is such a mess so normally i use straighteners
8
these are straighteners to kind of fix to fix my fringe
9
so I'm going to turn it on with this little switch okay
10
and now we wait until it beeps again when it beeps that means these are ready
11
so while I wait um today I have a day off I have two days off work
12
and I think I'm going to okay these are ready um I think I'm going to spend my day off writing um
13
I really enjoy writing so
14
when I have a day off I mostly go to cafes I go to cafes
15
and I write um so I'm probably going to do that today I also wanted to film this video um
16
this is my my second video on YouTube um
17
and I did try to film a video the other day
18
and it was
19
so bad it was really bad I I have no idea how to use like how to use the camera
20
or kind of how how to set up the audio
21
and I basically the other day I tried to film a video about learning a language through um comprehensible input
22
so just by listening to a language
23
in order to learn it so I filmed this video
24
and it was it was so bad I kept moving the camera
25
and it means that the the shots were constantly changing
26
and it looked rubbish
27
so I'm filming another one um I'm gonna start with I always start with my eyes
28
so i have this eyeshadow palette so this is a palette a palette is basically
29
when you have multiple paints um or eyeshadows in one place like an artist
30
so this is my eyeshadow palette i'm going to use this color here
31
which is sort of like a purple we would call this color
32
taupe actually and I just put that all over my eyelid let me move my
33
fringe so I put
34
that all over my eyelid with this eyeshadow brush this is an eyeshadow brush it's a fluffy one
35
so we use the fluffy brush when we're doing eye shadow.
36
So I actually don't wear very much makeup.
37
I'm not very good at makeup.
38
My sister is a makeup artist,
39
so she's like amazing at doing makeup,
40
but I'm not very good at doing makeup.
41
I'm now going to use this this brown color
42
and i put this on my outer corner this is my outer corner so here
43
um so i have also been oops i have also been thinking about what i want for this youtube
44
channel um what videos I want to make in the future
45
or why why I'm making videos um I think I want to make blogs
46
and kind of relaxed kind of day in the life videos um the reason being
47
that means why the reason why i want to do this i think there are lots of videos online
48
which are kind of very educational so come to a supermarket
49
or go to an airport and we will talk about the things
50
that are there but when i learn a language i prefer to watch content that i enjoy i prefer
51
to watch content that is fun,
52
content that I would also watch in English.
53
So I'm basically, I'm basically trying to do that.
54
I'm basically trying to do that.
55
I'm not very good at talking you through what i'm doing i'm now using this eyeliner it's in brown
56
and i usually them i wear more makeup on my eyes
57
so i put a small line here above my eyelashes i
58
put a line above my eyelashes um i also tight line my eyes
59
so that means i put the pencil on this line here i'll show you So I go like this,
60
which is horrible.
61
When I first wore eyeliner,
62
and this is called tight lining,
63
I tight lined my eyes for the first time.
64
I was like crying, but it doesn't feel uncomfortable.
65
It just looks kind of horrible.
66
so i do this and i do this top line as well above my eyelashes amazing cool
67
um i also like to drag the eyeliner out a little bit
68
so i drag it out i draw a little line here
69
cool
70
and now i look kind of crazy i now just rub
71
it with my finger to make it more soft my finger
72
and i try and shape it into a wing so a wing is when you have the little lines
73
coming off your eyes a wing amazing um before i do my mascara i like to wear concealer
74
so i have this concealer which is really old um and yeah i just put some here and here here
75
and on my chin and some on my nose.
76
I blend my makeup with my finger so I tap it
77
if you tap tap tap tap tap tap it's like this
78
so I tap it um I do have a really old beauty blender a makeup sponge but I don't really
79
use it because I'm quite lazy and I don't wear loads of concealer
80
so I just tap my concealer in my under eye this is my under eye
81
and when you have these kind of shadows under your eye They're called eyebags.
82
Eyebags.
83
So I want to make these videos that I find enjoyable.
84
I also think there is not a lot of content available in the British English accent,
85
which I have.
86
So I work as an English teacher
87
and sometimes I meet students who find me difficult to understand because they are more used to hearing the American accent.
88
So I wanted to have more British English available online,
89
more British English content that beginners can understand.
90
so hopefully this is helpful for you.
91
I know lots of people want to learn the British English accent as well so hopefully this is helpful for you.
92
I now I'm going to do my mascara so I use this brand which is Clinique and it's a black mascara.
93
So my eyeliner is brown but my mascara is black.
94
I have never tried brown mascara but apparently brown is nice with blue eyes so maybe I should try it.
95
Maybe in the future I should try brown mascara.
96
I also have an eyelash curler but it doesn't have any pads so to use this it needs to have pads,
97
a protection and I don't have that so I use my finger again and I curl my lashes up.
98
I curl my lashes up and then I put on my mascara like this.
99
I mostly, I usually put more mascara on the outside of my eye.
100
in the UK lots of people want to have cat eyes eyes
101
that are kind of like this
102
so this is my attempt to make my eyes look more like the eyes of a cat like this
103
um while i'm here i also wanted to talk a bit about language learning
104
and why i'm making videos so i said
105
that i want to make videos that people enjoy watching i think this is important
106
because I am learning Spanish at the moment and I learned Spanish by listening to Spanish.
107
It was really helpful for me to listen all the time and then I got better and better and better.
108
So at the moment I have listened to 700 hours of Spanish videos and I can understand Spanish.
109
I now watch native content in Spanish so I think this listening is a really important skill to practice.
110
I also work as an English tutor so So I teach English to people who are trying to learn.
111
And something that is very interesting is the students that listen all the time have the best level of comprehension.
112
We can talk about anything and they have the best grammar.
113
They have the widest vocabulary and conversation is really easy.
114
so if you are learning English I really recommend listening all the time
115
because it means
116
that you develop this instinct you develop this instinct in English
117
where you just know what word to say you just it feels right um
118
and I think that's really important so listen to more English
119
i'm now going to add some bronzer this one is really
120
old you can see i've hit the pan this is the pan i've hit the pan i've used it
121
so much and i use this big fluffy bronzer brush um
122
and i put it here under my cheeks um in the uk we want to be tan
123
so people love to go sunbathing people want their skin to be brown um
124
so bronzer is a really popular makeup product i am very pale
125
so that is not really what most people want okay
126
um i'm not doing anything very special today i'm just going to get a coffee
127
so the last thing i do is i wear a lipstick this is the clinique black honey
128
and it's this kind of dark color but when you put it on when you apply your lipstick it's really pretty so
129
amazing um i then kind of smudge it a little bit
130
and yeah this is basically how i do my makeup each
131
day i think my hair is quite frizzy it's quite fluffy today so i'm gonna use my straightener
132
again to try and and calm it down a little bit um
133
but in general this is this is how i do my
134
makeup um what i would love there we go what i would love to know is i want to know
135
what content you enjoy listening to in English,
136
who are your favorite creators and what do you like?
137
Do you like there to be subtitles?
138
Do you like seeing vlogs?
139
How long do you like the videos to be.
140
And how often do you want me to upload?
141
Right now I am thinking of uploading maybe once a week.
142
So let me know.
143
I want to make videos that you enjoy.
144
And that is everything for today.
145
so thank you so much and I will see you soon bye
