Look what the cat tracked in.
2
Two cats.
3
Two cats.
4
Yeah, it took both of us cats to drag you in.
5
Hello.
6
It was very exciting to have Larry Emder on the desk.
7
Do you know how long it's been?
8
We went through the archives.
9
How long?
10
Is this a guessing game?
11
Is this a price to rise guessing game?
12
Yes.
13
Higher, lower.
14
How long?
15
Eleven years.
16
Really?
17
Okay, have a look.
18
This is what was happening eleven years ago when you hosted with me on this program.
19
Okay.
20
Plus, Plastic Fantastic, the man who spent more than a hundred thousand dollars hundred thousand dollars to look like a Ken doll.
21
And coffee machine cuisine from eggs, bacon and even cakes.
22
We meet the woman who cooks everything in her coffee pot.
23
That is all ahead as weekend sunrise begins right now.
24
And now I look like that guy.
25
Like that guy.
26
I'm having some work.
27
No, so, I mean, is that what's brought you back?
28
The fact that we may well be revisiting the woman that cooks everything in her coffee pot?
29
Yes, yes, yes.
30
I understand you do the big stories here and I just want to be part of that.
31
Yes.
32
I want to be part of it.
33
You're the big me.
34
But I also notice too,
35
you've got like the Mont Blanc pen,
36
you've got the fancy pen.
37
Oh, yes.
38
I've got the one they give away.
39
Oh, here we go.
40
Oh, there we are.
41
Oh, what's that?
42
Whoa, is that a mole?
43
Oh, look at you.
44
You didn't bother shaving last time.
45
No, I was...
46
Oh, look at how much hair you both had.
47
You both had.
48
Oh, my goodness.
49
Oh, look at that.
50
It's always about the hair, isn't it?
51
It's always about the hair.
52
Well, it is for me.
53
I don't know about you guys.
54
You've got the fancy expensive pen.
55
Look what they give the guest host.
56
The one that they give to people at the Royal Easter show.
57
That's work experience.
58
It's the work experience.
59
Anyway, I get to do this on the desk.
60
Welcome, welcome.
61
It is so good to see you this morning.
62
And for you as well,
63
thanks so much for being with us.
64
And we begin with breaking news.
65
Three people are dead after a frightening collision between two cars in Sydney's south.
66
Let's go live now to reporter Jake Lyle,
67
who's there at the scene.
68
Jake, morning to you.
69
So take us through what happened here.
70
Yeah, morning, Mon.
71
Look, just horrific scenes here in Sydney's south this morning,
72
which police are still trying to piece together as we speak.
73
I'll just show you the scene right now.
74
You can see police are still investigating the nature of this crash.
75
Those two cars still on the road.
76
What we do know, though,
77
is that three people have lost their lives in this head-on collision between these two cars.
78
Now, the nature of that collision is still under investigation,
79
but you can see the speed and force of that impact has left one of those cars still on its roof.
80
And then earlier up on the road,
81
you can see the other car,
82
the blue Toyota Camry as well.
83
Now, we believe potentially at one point this white sedan has crossed over the barrier,
84
separating the two lanes and landed on that second car causing
85
that collision but again police are still on the scene investigating the impact involved a male driver driving
86
that white Audi sedan and a driver and passenger in
87
that blue Toyota Camry at this stage all of them are yet to be formally identified
88
but police are asking anyone who may have been driving past at the time
89
if they have any dash cam footage to send it through
90
and there are obviously major traffic delays here at Rocky Point Road at the Captain Cook Bridge.
91
Mon?
92
Yeah, Jake, it just looks like a mangled mess behind you.
93
All right, how horrific.
94
Thank you.
95
Here's Larry.
96
Mon, thank you.
97
The scandal surrounding former Royal Andrew Malbatten Windsor has now expanded to include possible sex crimes.
98
Let's go live to Europe correspondent Isabel Mullen now.
99
Izzy, hi.
100
What are police saying about their investigation?
101
Larry, good morning.
102
You really get the sense here in London that they are broadening this investigation.
103
They want more witnesses and more alleged victims to come forward.
104
Former Prince Andrew is now accused of sexual offences as well as that misconduct in public office.
105
It's being treated as a trafficking investigation amid those allegations
106
that convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein sent a woman to stay with
107
the king's brother at the Royal Lodge back in 2010 allegations that the former prince strenuously denies.
108
Police, they have to get enough evidence together to convince the courts that they can take this to trial.
109
We did see Prince William out and about today in regional England.
110
He didn't acknowledge this deepening scandal.
111
Now, we should note that the former prince,
112
he has never been charged if this does make its way to the court,
113
he faces a maximum penalty of life in prison.
114
Larry.
115
All right, Izzy, thanks for that.
116
Let's get some more news now.
117
And here's Sally.
118
In breaking news this morning,
119
the head of US intelligence is the latest high-ranking official to leave the Trump administration.
120
Tulsi Gabbard has served as Donald Trump's Director of National Intelligence since his re-election.
121
But a short time ago,
122
Ms Gabbard announced she's quitting to care for her husband,
123
who was recently diagnosed with bone cancer.
124
Donald Trump has paid tribute saying Tulsi has done an incredible job and that they will miss her.
125
Federal authorities are preparing for a new group of ISIS brides and their children to fly back to Australia.
126
Seven women and 14 children have left the Alroj camp and are now reportedly in Damascus.
127
It's believed that's where they'll get flights home.
128
The government says they have the legal right to return
129
but will be subject to the full force of the law upon their arrival.
130
Police in Sydney fear the city's underworld could soon explode following the murder of a gang kingpin in Vietnam.
131
Lorenzo Lamalu was gunned down at a restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City on Thursday night.
132
He is thought to be the mastermind behind the so-called coconut cartel.
133
Just because they're overseas doesn't mean they're immune from being assassinated or being murdered.
134
The cartel declared war on the rival Alamuddin gang earlier this year.
135
Lifeguards are wanting Queensland beachgoers to take care.
136
There are huge waves hitting the coast there this weekend.
137
Let's go live to our reporter, Nat's Levy in Brisbane.
138
Nat's beaches, they're closed there today?
139
Well, Sally, that call will be made at 8 o'clock this morning by lifeguards and whether our beaches stay open for today.
140
And we are expecting some glorious weather here in the southeast of Queensland in particular.
141
And this is largely due to a low sitting in the Tasman Sea.
142
Now, that same low is also creating hazardous conditions and massive swell for the coastline.
143
There are two particular warnings in place.
144
One extends the entire eastern coastline of Australia,
145
and that's for dangerous swell.
146
The other is for damaging surf and coastal erosion,
147
and that warning extends from the north in Gari right through to Byron Bay in New South Wales.
148
And we have seen some swell offshore recorded measuring up to six metres.
149
So though the waves and the surf might look very attractive to surfers,
150
swimmers are being advised to stay out of the water and pay attention to any safety notices that are issued, Sally.
151
All right, thanks for that, Nets.
152
you
