Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the Ford Mustang Dark Horse.

The Dark Horse isn't just a Mustang GT with more horsepower.

Ford reinforced the engine, upgraded the cooling, and added track-focused hardware and created what is essentially the ultimate naturally aspirated Mustang before you step into GTD territory.

This Mustang has a 5-liter naturally aspirated Coyote V8, making 500 horsepower, 418 pounds of torque, and has a 0-60 of 4.1 seconds.

When this launched in 2024, it was Ford Mustang's most powerful naturally aspirated 5.0 ever produced.

And the release of the Dark Horse was the first Ford Performance subsidiary brand released in over 20 years.

But now let's get into the review.

So starting with the exterior, the Mustang has always had its staple aggressive look.

But what is new for the Dark Horse?

We have these upgraded headlights.

They're beautiful LED lights that look super aggressive.

And we also have an intake right here to cool the engine.

It's also equipped with Brembo brakes, which are amazing for stopping on the dime.

We also have the upgraded badges for the Dark Horse, which features the Dark Horse emblem.

From the back, we do have the standard wing and four tip exhaust.

And before I show you guys the inside, I'm going to go ahead

and show you guys how it sounds to Rev. I'm going to do it in all the different modes.

Um, yeah, this thing sounds great.

That sounds absolutely insane.

I'm smiling so hard right now.

Like that is wicked.

Okay, now let's get into the interior.

To be honest, the interior of this thing is actually quite amazing.

So this is an overview of what it looks like.

There is a Recaro seat option on the Mustang Dark Horse, although this one is not equipped with it.

But if you get the Recaro seats, you don't get ventilated or heated seating.

But with this one, you do.

You also have this beautiful Mustang Dark Horse emblem right here on the door slit in blue.

And it actually matches the blue on the interior of the car as well.

If you're like me and you like to customize your interior, you're going to like this next feature.

If you press this button right here, you're taken to the My Mustang menu where you're able to customize all the colors of the infotainment system screen.

So let's say if I want all these numbers on the dash and everything to be blue, I can literally press this button.

And as you can see, now all of the text is blue, which is pretty cool.

I like that you're able to customize it like that.

And honestly, this looks great for the 4th of July.

It actually kind of matches my C4.

So here's what normal looks like, Pretty cool.

And then there's sport.

There's track, which is one of my favorites.

There's calm, you know, if you want something very minimal.

Then this is where it starts to get interesting.

You can literally choose a Cobra, a timeless car, and an icon for Ford and in the automotive world.

I think this looks pretty cool.

Very, very unique.

You can even go Fox body or the classic aesthetic for the Mustang.

I mean, look like that, that is so cool.

I love how it's like literally so appealing to people who have even been with the Ford brand for so many years.

This steering wheel is new for the year that this car was produced.

We also have paddle shifters right here.

And what's really cool is that on the screen as well, you can choose your type of exhaust mode.

Obviously, this one's going to be my favorite, but if you want something a little bit more low-key, you can choose this one as well.

So this is revving in quiet mode.

I'm going to lower the window so you guys can hear it a little bit better.

And now I'm going to put it in the max track exhaust mode.

Oh my gosh.

Yeah, it's a huge difference.

But the fun does not stop there.

Using the track apps, this is great.

If you're ever trying to test the limits of this car, you have an acceleration timer,

brake performance lap timer, and over here in auxiliary gauges, you're even able to see how many Gs you're pulling right here on the gauge cluster.

And this right here may look like a normal handbrake.

So this is actually the e-brake, but it also doubles as a handbrake for drifting when you go into drift mode.

So as you can see, now the drift brake is on and we are in track mode only.

It even says right here, track use only.

Aside from all of this, another really cool feature is this right here.

Every single Dark Horse gets its own serialized badge, meaning its build number is 274th in the Dark Horse production sequence.

So we are now going to get into the driving portion of this video, but sometimes it's really hard to get my camera in a position that actually looks good and is stable.

Okay guys, so this is actually my first time ever driving a Mustang.

I'm not gonna lie.

So I've had the opportunity to drive so many different cars

but I've actually never driven a Ford Performance vehicle other than the Bronco Raptor that I reviewed.

And I'm enjoying it so far.

I've gotten the opportunity to drive so many different cars in my life, but I've never driven a Mustang before.

If you guys don't know what the GTD is, that car is insane.

I've had the privilege to see a couple in person at the Amelia Concord and they are just absolutely insane.

You even have to go through a whole application process just to be able to get an allocation for one.

But if you want something that is quite literally a fraction of the price, but still very fun, this dark horse is incredible.

This is my first time ever driving a Mustang, as I mentioned, and I can really confidently say that I am super impressed with this car.
