레슨 만드는 중...
1
This video is your free English study guide for this year.
2
Welcome back everyone.
3
In this video I am going to give you a step-by-step plan to improve your English in just six months.
4
If you are an intermediate learner now or even an upper elementary motivated learner and you follow this plan,
5
six months from today, you will be a confident English speaker.
6
Before the monthly plan, three rules.
7
Rule number one, consistency beats intensity.
8
20 to 30 minutes every day is better than three hours once a week.
9
Rule number two, you don't just study English, you use English.
10
I want you to speak out loud, even if you are alone.
11
No more passive studying in your head.
12
Rule number three, you need structure.
13
This is why guided practice matters and why having a membership,
14
a daily routine, or a program keeps you moving when motivation disappears.
15
And the good news is my membership is finally open and you can join now.
16
Month one, build strong, basic sentences.
17
This is the only easy month.
18
So if month one is too easy for you, jump to month two.
19
In month one, you focus on building strong, basic sentences.
20
using the simple present, simple past and simple future,
21
statements, questions and negatives and useful English verbs.
22
I have made a free PDF workbook for this study guide with the vocabulary you need to focus on month by month.
23
It's free and it's below in the description and the comments.
24
Every day I want you to revise the focus verbs and structures for 10 minutes,
25
about two or three verbs per day.
26
You need to use the verbs on the PDF to write your own sentences.
27
For five minutes you will listen to a short clear English video.
28
I suggest BBC News on YouTube for higher intermediate learners.
29
Or if that's too difficult, BBC News Round for lower intermediate learners.
30
And finally, you will spend 10 minutes repeating full sentences out loud from the video you watch.
31
Pausing and using subtitles if you need to.
32
Copy what you hear, not what you think you hear, what you hear.
33
By the end of month one, you will stop guessing grammar and you will speak in complete simple sentences.
34
Month two, understand real spoken English.
35
This month focuses on understanding and using fast spoken English.
36
Linking sounds, reductions and weak forms.
37
The rules for these are in the PDF.
38
I have also made a video explaining reductions, weak forms and linking in natural speech.
39
So you can hear examples.
40
I will put the link below in the description and in the PDF.
41
Understanding fast spoken English is key to improving your fluency.
42
Every day in month two,
43
I want you to listen to 10 to 15 minutes of English videos like TED Talks on YouTube.
44
These are great for different accents.
45
Then spend 10 to 15 minutes repeating and copying the speakers.
46
I want you to focus on rhythm, reductions, weak forms and linking sounds.
47
Month two is about recognising and practising natural speech.
48
By the end of month two, you will understand much more when people speak.
49
English will sound less fast and you will feel less lost in conversations.
50
This only works if you practice every day.
51
Month three focuses on speaking without panicking,
52
answering common questions, talking about daily life, the past and future plans,
53
as well as speaking without stopping.
54
There is a long list of questions and speaking topics in the PDF workbook below.
55
In your daily practice, you will listen for 5 to 10 minutes to interview style videos.
56
I suggest the Wired channel on YouTube.
57
There are lots of interesting interviews to choose from there.
58
Then you will spend 10 minutes answering questions or talking about topics out loud from the PDF.
59
For example, what did you do today?
60
Or describe a person you know well.
61
And then five to ten minutes of timed speaking using the 4-3-2 method.
62
You talk about a topic for four minutes.
63
You talk about one aspect of that topic in detail for three minutes.
64
And then you summarize everything you have said for two minutes.
65
By the end of month three, you will be more confident and you will freeze less.
66
Now we accelerate.
67
Your foundation is stronger after 90 days of daily work.
68
So months four, five and six are where the big transformation happens.
69
Month four, vocabulary, pronunciation and clarity.
70
This month is about sounding clearer
71
and richer without complex grammar you focus on core phrasal verbs for daily life work
72
and health there is a list in the free pdf below
73
and there are many more worksheets on phrasal verbs included in all levels
74
of my membership every day for five minutes you revise this month's vocabulary
75
and you create your own sentences with the vocabulary make sure you say new words out loud
76
and you can spell check online the sentences you create
77
if you wish then you need 10 minutes of input you need to listen to a video
78
or podcast and when you listen you need to write down new words.
79
I suggest this month that you watch the National Geographic channel on YouTube.
80
And finally 10 minutes of output speaking.
81
Here I want you to describe what you watched or listened to as if you are telling a friend.
82
So for example, I watched a video on the National Geographic channel about indigenous women climbing mountains in skirts and traditional clothing.
83
It was very interesting.
84
By the end of month four,
85
you will actively use 300 to 500 new words and you will sound clearer and more confident.
86
and you will be easier to understand.
87
Month five, fluency and automatic speaking.
88
This month is about speed and flow.
89
You focus on ready-made speaking chunks.
90
Chunks are words together in ready-made phrases and not just lists of single words.
91
You will also focus on vocabulary for linking ideas naturally.
92
The chunks and the linking words are, can you guess, in the PDF below.
93
Every day you will spend 5 to 10 minutes listening to real conversations.
94
There is a channel on YouTube called Big Think.
95
I suggest this for month 5.
96
you can use english subtitles or slow the speed
97
if you need to then for 15 minutes i want you to shadow full sentences from the video you watch
98
that means copy full sentences from the video you watch with correct reductions
99
and intonation and finally you need to speak for five minutes without stopping.
100
This month I want you to describe what you are doing out loud during your daily activities.
101
Like this.
102
I am cooking my dinner.
103
I am chopping the vegetables and I am waiting for the water to boil.
104
Describing what you are doing when you are doing it will train your brain to think in English.
105
By the end of month five, you will speak faster.
106
You will translate much less in your head and English will feel more automatic.
107
Month six, real confidence and advanced control.
108
This month is about using English in real conversations,
109
explaining ideas clearly, organizing thoughts and opinions,
110
speaking logically, and using simple linking phrases.
111
This month, you are learning how to think and react in English.
112
Every day for 15 minutes I want you to listen to real-life English.
113
I suggest the Business Insider channel on YouTube.
114
It will help you practice listening to American accents.
115
When you listen I want you to focus on how ideas, opinions and connections are made.
116
and I want you to write down three useful phrases from
117
the video you listen to every day then I want you to do a five minute recorded monologue
118
so I want you to record yourself speaking with your phone
119
or your computer choose a topic from the PDF explain it clearly give your opinion,
120
explain why and add one example.
121
And finally, I want you to spend five minutes listening to your recording and noting one thing you did well,
122
one difficulty you had and one small thing you can improve the next day.
123
By the end of month six, you will speak for several minutes without freezing.
124
You will be able to explain ideas clearly and you will be able to give opinions with reasons and examples.
125
Here's the truth.
126
This plan only works if you show up.
127
only if you do the work if you follow this plan not perfectly but consistently
128
six months from now your English life will be completely different
129
hopefully this study plan will help you reach a strong B2
130
or maybe even a C1 and I am here to help you every step of the way.

첫째, "20 to 30 minutes every day is better than three hours once a week"와 같은 비교 구조로, "~보다 ~이 더 낫다"는 표현을 자연스럽게 사용할 수 있습니다. 둘째, "you will be a confident English speaker"와 같은 미래 시제 문장으로, 목표 달성에 대한 확신을 표현할 때 유용합니다. 셋째, "if you are an intermediate learner now... you will..."와 같은 조건문은 상황에 따른 결과를 설명하는 데 필수적입니다. 이 외에도 "focus on building", "spend 10 minutes repeating"와 같은 동명사 구문을 통해 행위의 중점을 명확히 할 수 있습니다.

발음의 함정, 주의해야 할 점

영어 발음에서 자주 발생하는 문제점을 비디오에서 찾아볼 수 있습니다. 특히 "weak forms"와 "linking sounds"는 영어 발음 교정의 핵심 과제입니다. 예를 들어 "want you to"는 순차적으로 발음하지 않고 "wanna to"처럼 축약되거나, "focus on"은 "focu son"처럼 연결되어 발음됩니다.
