1
You get discouraged by how many people want the same thing, but the real question is, how many of them will still be here six months from now?
2
Hi muses!
3
Welcome back to my channel where we talk about how women can have their cake and eat it too.
4
I'm your host Nadine and I'm here to rebuild the village women once had
5
so we can have the right conversations and create lives that feel as good as it looks.
6
Please like, subscribe, and turn on the notification bell so you don't miss anything.
7
A lot of women talk themselves out of trying anything for one of two reasons.
8
They either think something is too saturated or they think everyone else is already ahead of them.
9
And those are two very different emotional experiences.
10
When you're building something like a brand, a business, creating content, or going after new opportunities,
11
you psych yourself out because you think there are too many people doing the same thing already.
12
And when it comes to your own reinvention or your next glow up or elevating your lifestyle, or when you see another woman who embodies something you really desire,
13
now you're thinking in scarcity and feeling like there's no room for you to become her too.
14
Have you ever catch yourself scrolling, looking at these beautiful influencers and just starting to compare yourself?
15
And instead of getting motivated to maybe, you know, work out or go to the gym or eat healthy or try all these hobbies, you're like, what's the point in even trying?
16
I'm not going to look like her anyways.
17
I'm not going to be her.
18
See, that is what I'm talking about.
19
Different emotional starting point, same result.
20
You hesitate, you overthink, you delay, you talk yourself out of doing something you were really excited about before you even tried.
21
So today I want to talk about why consistency makes you so rare.
22
As always, we don't gatekeep, so let's step into it.
23
I really need more women to understand this.
24
You are usually not competing with everyone you see.
25
You are definitely not behind just because other women are more visibly where you want to be.
26
Most people don't commit to doing something long enough to see real results.
27
And that is the real tea.
28
I hear a lot of people stop themselves from even starting something because they feel like it's oversaturated.
29
But what that really means is that they see a lot of people who are trying, a lot of creators, a lot of business owners, a lot of women posting online,
30
a lot of people launching businesses, a lot of beauty brands, a lot of podcasts, a lot of resumes being submitted.
31
And yes, from the outside, that can feel a bit intimidating, but what people forget is that visibility does not equal stamina.
32
If you are in a season of trying to build something, trying to reinvent yourself, or finally go after the life you keep saying you want,
33
but you have a million excuses as to why you are not doing it yet, this is going to change your mind.
34
Just because a lot of people are interested does not mean a lot of people are committed.
35
Just because a lot of people started does not mean a lot of people are still going at it.
36
And just because the space looks crowded at first, it does not mean
37
that all these people are actually going to stay long enough to become really good at what they're doing.
38
So if you want to build a personal brand, if you want to create content, if you want to start a business or whatever it is that you want to do,
39
you do not need to sit in a space that is empty in order for you to succeed.
40
You also do not always need a super sharp competitive edge.
41
You have an already tested market.
42
There is demand because all of these people are trying to do it.
43
Now you just need endurance.
44
Of course, there is a skill gap, but you can learn and you can pick things up.
45
But how long you stay in the game and keep refining and keep getting better, that is what determines who gets a piece of the pie.
46
Because the world is full of people who are trying to figure themselves out and doing all these things because they're curious, but not a lot of people can actually follow through.
47
So many women say they want to become creators or founders or thought leaders.
48
They want to be known for something.
49
They want to build something real.
50
They want their ideas to become income.
51
But how many people will still be posting six months from now, a year from now?
52
Because think about it.
53
How many people will still work on fine-tuning their messaging
54
and figuring out how to make whatever they're doing work when they are not getting instant gratification, when they're not getting instant validation?
55
How many people will still keep learning how to position themselves, how to cater to their clients or audience when they are not getting the results they want?
56
That number drops super fast.
57
I can tell you right now, half the girls I connected with online when I first started posting on social media, they've all quit and they are all doing something else now.
58
I'm not even kidding.
59
It took like what?
60
Less than two years, three years?
61
And yes, there are so many other creators ahead of me and doing better than me, but I have my little slice of the cake now.
62
I know I'm going off on like a slight tangent here, but starting your own thing or trying to build something, I consider that entrepreneurial.
63
And being an entrepreneur will make you face almost all of your shadows at one point or another on your journey.
64
And that's where most people fail because they can't overcome their setbacks or deal with their own issues.
65
You get rejected by a customer.
66
Are you gonna be butt hurt?
67
Someone says your content sucks.
68
Are you going to take it personally?
69
Your ideas aren't doing so well.
70
Can you cold call or cold message 100 people asking for their feedback?
71
And then you're going to be faced with self-doubt, like whether or not you actually think you'll succeed.
72
You'll be faced with the fear of failure.
73
So if you don't try at all, you're safe.
74
You'll be faced with the fear of success.
75
If you make it, what are you going to do with all this money?
76
Are the people around you going to change?
77
Are you going to change?
78
If you're a perfectionist, You're going to be in your own way every step of
79
the way until you get comfortable with the idea of good enough Not a lot of people can deal with
80
that But if you can and
81
if you're willing to keep going at it You'll be one of the few who make it
82
so bringing this back to what I was talking about Just
83
because another girl has done it
84
or she already has it There is still more than enough
85
to go around There are still more seats available in the same rooms It doesn't matter
86
if another type a girly has the most aesthetic routine and organized life
87
If getting your life together is important to you and you want to try hard doing it, then do it.
88
It's not embarrassing, okay?
89
Becoming disciplined, elegant, magnetic, self-respecting, well-spoken, well-dressed, healthier, calmer, more in your power.
90
None of that is dependent on or impartial to other women who are on the same journey as you.
91
But I get it.
92
It can still feel impossible to get to where you want to be
93
when you're looking at everyone else who's already at the finish line.
94
You look around feeling a bit defeated because that girl already has the body.
95
She already has the style.
96
She already knows her knee.
97
She's already confident.
98
She already looks polished.
99
She's already figured it out.
100
And then you internalize someone else's visibility as proof
101
that there is less room for you to have the same thing or do the same thing.
102
That is the trap because someone else being ahead of you is not evidence that you are late to the game.
103
It is evidence that demand
104
or interest exists someone else embodying confidence does not cancel out
105
your ability to become confident someone else living your dream life
106
does not remove your permission to create one too it just means
107
that you are witnessing a possibility that you now have to decide whether
108
or not you are going to participate in and pay attention
109
because comparison has a way of disguising itself as logic you tell yourself you're being realistic.
110
You tell yourself the market is crowded.
111
You tell yourself that everyone is already ahead of you and you missed your moment.
112
But a lot of the times what's actually happening is that you are letting discomfort decide your future.
113
You are letting intimidation push you away from the things you truly want.
114
Take me as an example.
115
I have wanted to start a YouTube channel for like eight years now since I quit my tech job back in 2018.
116
I was like, I should really document my journey.
117
I should get started on YouTube.
118
And I kept telling myself that maybe I'm too late.
119
There's all these big creators now.
120
I wouldn't be able to compete with them.
121
And year after year, I kept seeing new creators pop up who blow up.
122
And I'm like, wow, I really should have started.
123
And I kept waiting and waiting and talking myself out of it.
124
And I finally did it six months ago.
125
And as of this episode, I think I'm over 50,000 subscribers.
126
It's not 200,000.
127
It's not 2 million, but there's over 50,000 of you who are here to listen to me talk and share my wisdom.
128
And if I hadn't started, if I hadn't kept at it after my first few videos that flopped, I wouldn't be here.
129
Do I fall into the comparison trap?
130
Of course I do sometimes.
131
I feel like I'm not doing enough.
132
And I look at all these creators with hundreds of thousands of followers, but then I realize they've been on this platform for years and I'm really just starting out.
133
You can't compare your chapter one to someone else's chapter 10.
134
And that applies to everything in life?
135
Are there lucky ones who just make it big?
136
Of course, and we love that for them, but those are the exceptions and not the rule.
137
And the truth is, in public arenas like business and content, even when you're applying for jobs, most people drop off or don't get past the first stage.
138
And in private spaces like reinventing yourself or elevating your identity, most people never fully commit.
139
That's why so many women get stuck in this strange in-between state.
140
They want more.
141
They crave more.
142
They know the next level version of them is trying to come through, but they do not stay consistent long enough in the external work to reap the rewards.
143
They do not stay determined long enough in the internal work to see the shifts
144
and both matter because building anything meaningful requires repetition.
145
You have to repeat the post, repeat the message, repeat the practice, repeat the standards, repeat the walks,
146
repeat the meals, basically repeat the decisions required to become the woman you said you want to be.
147
This is why I talk so much about identity and self-concept, because the issue is rarely strategy.
148
It's usually consistency and follow-through.
149
It's whether you can become the kind of woman who stays with the process long enough to let it change you.
150
Most people think you have to force yourself to stay in the process so you become the woman you want to be, but it's an internal identity shift first.
151
Because if you see yourself as a woman who has everything you say you want, then naturally the decisions you make,
152
the habits you have, the lifestyle you live would reflect who she is.
153
Your identity shapes how you show up and how you allow yourself to be perceived.
154
And that determines whether you can build something real from who you are.
155
Anyone can be excited for a week and stay consistent for a week.
156
Anyone can have a good idea.
157
Anyone can feel inspired after listening to a podcast or watching a reel.
158
But can you keep going when it gets repetitive?
159
Can you keep showing up when it stops feeling like the next shiny object?
160
Can you tolerate the awkward middle where you're no longer the old you, but you're not fully embodied as the new you yet because that is where everything changes.
161
You already know I'm not interested in hustle culture being passed off as ambition.
162
So when I talk about consistency, I would never ask you to abandon yourself in the process,
163
which means staying consistent shouldn't lead to burnout.
164
It shouldn't be overly performative.
165
It shouldn't make you feel resentful because it's hard.
166
Yes, it requires you to get a little uncomfortable.
167
It requires you to choose what's best for yourself.
168
But if you're dreading the activity, then there's something misaligned.
169
For example, you can hate working out all you want, but you will remain a woman who doesn't take care of her body.
170
The identity of a woman who does value herself and her health and wellness, she loves taking care of her body.
171
She loves movement.
172
She loves feeling in tune with her body.
173
She may not feel excited about every workout, but she loves how it makes her feel after. And so
174
staying consistent and staying disciplined never feels like she is pulling teeth and forcing herself to do something she physically resents.
175
That is the difference.
176
You can move slowly and gently and go at your own pace and still be committed.
177
You can honor your nervous system and still expect yourself to follow through.
178
That is the woman I want more of us to become.
179
You don't need an empty room to do well or permission to start doing.
180
You're not threatened by other women who are a few steps ahead of you or starting with you.
181
Remember that most people will not keep going.
182
And instead of being discouraged by that, instead of saying you will be one of the statistics, decide right now that that's actually going to be your edge.
183
Because the goal isn't to find a path where nobody else exists.
184
The goal is to become so rooted in your own voice, your own standards, your own expression, your own consistency, that eventually your perseverance is undeniable.
185
That's how you become magnetic.
186
That is how trust gets built.
187
And that's also why I never think there's actual competition.
188
Whatever it is you choose to build or do, it will be done with your flair.
189
If you create content or start a business, your personality will be infused with it.
190
And that's a signature no one else can copy.
191
If you glow up right now, no one else looks like you.
192
So therefore, they can't copy your beauty unless you're a twin, but even twins have their own quirks, right?
193
So let this be your reminder, you are not competing with everyone who wants what they say they want.
194
You are competing with a tiny percentage of people who will stay consistent.
195
So stop using the crowd as a reason to shrink yourself
196
and stop counting yourself out before your own life has had the chance to catch up with who you're becoming.
197
Keep going and keep showing up because consistency really is an underrated superpower and your easiest way to success.
198
That's all the cake I have for you today.
199
Thank you so much for watching until the end.
200
I appreciate it so much.

  • What that really means is...
  • Just because A doesn’t mean B. -
  • So if you want to...
