4
So without further ado, let's please have a look at today's question.
5
Describe your perfect house.
6
you should say, Where you are living now, where you want to live, What type of house you want?
7
And why you want this perfect house.
8
There are many times I have thought about my ideal home.
9
However, I am currently residing in the thriving metropolis Ho Chi Minh City.
10
But I dream of relocating to the majestic mountains of Dalat.
11
My dream home will have a variety of features.
12
Firstly, I will have an infinity swimming pool
13
because I dream of getting a body to die for while enjoying the breathtaking views.
14
Nothing would give me more pleasure than to spend long evenings sat relaxing by the pool.
15
Secondly, I would undoubtedly have a wine cellar,
16
due to the fact that I am passionate about drinking French wine and want to keep it at the perfect temperature.
17
Lastly, And purely for my own enjoyment, I would love to have a Ferrari garage,
18
because I dream of driving fast cars throughout the streets of Ho Chi Minh City.
19
Simply a wonderful experience.
20
The reason why I want this special home is not only because I want to enjoy the breathtaking views of Dalaan,
21
but also in the future I dream of becoming an artist.
22
Therefore, I want to get inspiration from the majestic mountains.
23
Moreover, I want to enjoy the tranquil and quaint atmosphere.
24
Nothing would give me more pleasure than to relax on an evening enjoying this atmosphere, perhaps even starting a family.
25
That is why, in the future, I hope that I can make my dream of moving to Dalat become a reality.
26
So guys, I hope you enjoyed listening to that part two answer.
27
Today I want us to focus on vocabulary.
28
Remember in the speaking part two 25 % of our mark is lexical resource,
29
and therefore the vocabulary that I used in that answer is essential for success.
30
Infinity Swimming Pool is excellent vocab, a swimming pool with breathtaking views.
31
I mentioned wanting to have a wine cellar as well.
32
Perhaps even the Ferrari garage.
33
Notice when I talk about where I want to live, I don't just say Dalat.
34
I say the majestic mountains of Dalat.
35
Moreover, when I talked about where I'm living now, I don't just say Ho Chi Minh City, I say the thriving metropolis of Ho Chi Minh City.
36
So guys, whenever you're talking about where in part two, it's a great opportunity for you to focus on using those more advanced phrases and vocabulary.

  • Conditional Forms: Expressions like "if I could, I would..." highlight desires and aspirations, showing how to present hypothetical situations. This structure is essential for discussing dreams and possibilities.
  • Future Tenses: Phrases like "I hope to make my dream a reality" help convey future plans and intentions. Using the future tense effectively is crucial in speaking tasks, especially when discussing aspirations.

Common Pronunciation Traps

When improving your English speaking skills through this video, pay special attention to challenging words and phrases that may be difficult to pronounce:

  • Infinity pool: The combination of 'infinity' and 'pool' can be tricky, especially in rapid speech. Make sure to practice each syllable clearly.
  • Breathtaking: This word is rich with emotion and imagery. An emphasis on the second syllable can help with clarity.
  • Majestic: A common misstep is misplacing the stress in longer adjectives. Practice saying 'ma-JECT-ic' to ensure proper emphasis.
  • Tranquil: The ‘qu’ sound can often be challenging. Break it down into 'tran-kil' for smoother pronunciation.
