What's up guys?
2
We're doing something a little bit different today.
3
I asked you guys to submit questions on my Patreon about pregnancy and parenting.
4
You guys did exactly that.
5
So today we're going to talk about it.
6
Guys, before we get into today's video, please consider liking and subscribing.
7
Today we are headed over to my Patreon to answer some questions that you guys submitted in pregnancy.
8
So we are almost to the end of the road here.
9
I asked you guys to submit any questions that you had.
10
And if you want to get active on my Patreon, you can head to the link in the description down below.
11
So you don't miss out on future videos like this.
12
We're going to get straight into your questions here.
13
Lillian or Lilian asks, how are you feeling?
14
How close are you to giving birth?
15
So my due date is August 3rd, guys, and it is quickly approaching.
16
Do I feel not.
17
How are you feeling?
18
I feel fine.
19
And this has been amazing because so many people have walked up to me.
20
Of course, when you're clearly pregnant, people are always asking you questions and asking you how you're doing, which is so nice and so cool.
21
And I've been doing great this entire pregnancy.
22
I dealt with very little nausea, very little aches and pains.
23
I've stayed super active throughout pregnancy.
24
I've been able to eat super healthy throughout pregnancy, which has just been a blessing.
25
And I know it's not the story that most people have when it comes to pregnancy.
26
So so lucky to have avoided I think so many of the pitfalls that can come along with carrying a baby.
27
And I don't know, I feel hesitant about saying
28
that I've had a positive experience because I feel like
29
so many people have had super negative ones in pregnancy or it's just not the easiest thing to go through.
30
But I do think it's important to talk about the positive aspects
31
that carrying a child can have for your body
32
because I think most people prepare themselves for a super negative experience and So good.
33
I'll keep you guys posted if it stays that way.
34
Now our next question is from Andrew Mitchell.
35
He says, "Gotta ask any weird cravings, pickles and peanut butter or anything fun like that.
36
My wife's was fried pickles and French toast sticks."
37
And I've actually covered some of what I like eat in a day in a nighttime routine
38
that is posted for the tea drinkers on Patreon.
39
You guys can check that out.
40
I've been so normal.
41
Is this video going to be boring?
42
I don't know.
43
One thing I've really wanted is in and out.
44
Second thing, pancakes.
45
Not weird at all.
46
I'm pretty sure that's for normal.
47
That's for normal albolo.
48
So I haven't had anything super weird.
49
I love spicy food.
50
That has not changed in pregnancy.
51
The only issue is, is as I've gotten further and further and further.
52
I have heartburn.
53
So that is one thing that I have been experiencing lately.
54
And that has created quite a few issues with what I like to normally eat.
55
But they do say, if you have heartburn, your baby's gonna have a lot of hair.
56
So I guess I have that to look forward to seeing when she's born.
57
Survivor2011 asks, have you decided on a name?
58
No need to share it.
59
"Just wondering." He also says, "I'm so happy that your partner is excited to be a father." He or she, actually.
60
I don't know if Survivor is a he or she.
61
They're very active on Patreon, though.
62
So shout out to them.
63
We have a name that we've been thinking of, OK, the entire pregnancy.
64
So I don't know if it's going to stick.
65
I have a feeling I will know
66
if the name is going to stick as soon as she's born and I see her face.
67
Whether or not that's true, I do not know.
68
But there is a name that is circulating.
69
I will not share it just yet, just in case it changes.
70
I don't want to like jinx myself or put it out there before it's ready.
71
But I do think part of the name, the middle name at least, is going to pay homage to one of my family members who's probably watching.
72
right now okay d asks
73
if you had the power to change one thing about this
74
country to make your child's children's future generations life better what would
75
that be i just didn't think about this one four
76
a little while and it's a tough one there's
77
so many different answers to it you know having kids have healthy food the screens the mental health issues
78
that so many kids are dealing with but
79
if i could come to one answer i guess i would say just shrinking the bubble of external influences
80
that kids have in their lives right now when i think about
81
when i was growing up i grew up in a I went to school.
82
I hung out with kids from my school.
83
I had a small set of teachers.
84
I had a small set of classmates.
85
And that was the influence that my parents and my grandparents had to navigate and,
86
you know, build values through and build a regimen through.
87
And now kids have so much more going on.
88
It's like as soon as they're born, they are just globally attached to the world and getting so many external points of influence.
89
That's what I would change if that makes any sense.
90
Cutting off so many of the things that you now have to shield your kids from, I think, as a parent, the endless screens that are everywhere,
91
the social media influence that like whether or not they're on social media, they're being influenced from other
92
that are now seeping into the schools with these huge classrooms
93
and all just the different touch points that kids have for things
94
that I think are outside of their scope of understanding and comprehension to where they're just being exposed far too early.
95
And the list goes on and on and on as to what those things are.
96
I don't think I even scratched the surface in answering that question right now.
97
And so many of you will give examples of other ways
98
that they're being influenced in comments down below
99
but that's what i would want to do shrink it down
100
to something closer to what i had as a kid
101
or even what generations before me had as children i was
102
pretty much waking up hanging you know with my family going
103
to school coming back playing outside all the time eating dinner with my family
104
and then going to bed as a kid having read a book
105
or you know like played a game and i think
106
that is so far from what the average childhood looks like for most children now.
107
And that's so unfortunate because just about all we need is good food,
108
time with our families, and space to develop and experience things at the moments we are meant to experience them in life.
109
And we are just tripping over ourselves in putting way too much influence on a kid way too early.
110
So there you go.
111
This next one is from M9 saying, knowing how the education system is, how do you plan on teaching your child and navigating that system?
112
Guys, I've been back and forth on this So, so...
113
long.
114
I think in early development, we're going to do a lot of Montessori stuff, a lot of tactile stuff,
115
just being super present with my child at any point that I can.
116
I'm basically going to be at home at all times as I work from home.
117
So I think that's a really great opportunity
118
that I have in early education to just do a lot with my kid hands on and reading and,
119
you know, speaking them as much as possible and getting them acclimated to their environment and everything education system itself, I have no idea what I'm going to do.
120
At first, I thought homeschooling would be a really cool idea.
121
But will I have the capacity to be able to do that?
122
Then there's micro schooling, but is that really realistic?
123
How many people are micro schooling?
124
And then I talked to teachers.
125
who say, you know, sending them into the school system is totally fine if you set the proper foundation with your kids, if you're really there with your children
126
and you're keeping a watchful eye on everything that they're being exposed to
127
and reinforcing your values and helping them with their education at home.
128
So I'm not against, you know, the public school system here in this country.
129
It has its issues as I've spoken about on this channel over and over again.
130
But I feel as I was a public school kid myself.
131
I think I turned out okay.
132
Tom for life says, "I know this is a weird one, "but I'm honestly super curious about this debate "and super intrigued on what your response will be.
133
"Will you vaccinate your baby girl?
134
"If so, then why?
135
"If not, then why not?
136
This is a big one.
137
I've had so many conversations about this.
138
I have so much more reading to do on this.
139
As far as vaccines go, I'm very much open.
140
I don't have a particularly strong belief in an anti -vax direction or a pro -vax direction.
141
I think I'll take every shot as it comes to me, do the reading on it, and then go from there.
142
As far as when my baby is first born, one thing I
143
that they try to give your child within what the first 24 hours of them being born other than that
144
uh super anti anything on the vac schedule
145
and again i'll take it as it comes i know for
146
many of the appointments at least as far as what i've been told at this point
147
when you take your baby they try to do three or four at a time that's something that i might consider
148
spacing out, but that's really about it.
149
I'm curious, you guys let me know the different resources you have on vaccines.
150
If you have a particularly strong stance on this issue, drop them down below because I am looking into the subject reading about it.
151
But yeah, I had strong opinions on the COVID vaccine.
152
I don't know that that extends to the typical vac schedule that most children have.
153
in this country.
154
So let me know your feelings on that.
155
Now, Michelle Osborne says, Did you consider having your children at home?
156
Pregnancy, labor and birth have become so costly and medicalized.
157
What are your thoughts about that?
158
Here's the tea guys for a long time.
159
Okay, I say this is somebody who has looked into pregnancy and been obsessed with pregnancy my entire life.
160
I wanted to be a midwife, as many of you know, I even considered going into OB for schooling,
161
didn't end up doing And for a long part of my life, I was like home birth, home birth, home birth.
162
That's what I'm going to do.
163
As long as everything looks healthy, as long as everything looks clear, I'd like a midwife.
164
I'd like low intervention and I'd like to do it at home.
165
I felt like it was going to be more comfortable, more of a smooth process.
166
Then it started.
167
looking into all the ways in which that has gone wrong for people, all the people that have backed out of those stories.
168
There's been many a story recently of women attempting to do this at home
169
and subsequently losing their lives or their baby's life in the process.
170
And these have been perfectly healthy pregnancies up until the point of labor.
171
And then you just can't account for the things that could go wrong.
172
And in taking all of that into account.
173
I thought, you know what, I'm just going to find a really good holistic OBGYN and go from there,
174
because I think I could achieve the sort of low intervention, natural mindset of how I wanted to give birth,
175
while also having it in a hospital setting in case there was any need for major intervention or any emergency.
176
So that's my current thought.
177
on home births.
178
I've heard a lot of successful stories of home births.
179
I heard of a lot of unsuccessful stories.
180
of home births.
181
So my mind was changed.
182
on that one in particular.
183
Susie asked, have you ever cried for a stupid reason?
184
I was waiting for this one, guys.
185
All throughout pregnancy, I watch videos online where a woman gets a sandwich
186
and it has the wrong pickles on it and she starts bursting into tears.
187
I saw a video where a woman wanted her husband to go and get her a burger.
188
He came back with the wrong burger.
189
She cried her eyes out.
190
He went out to get the right burger.
191
He brought it back to her.
192
And by the time he got back, she didn't wanted anymore so she cried so she cried even more
193
and i was sitting here going okay it's gonna hit me
194
at some point it's gonna hit me at some point it's gonna hit me at some point it hasn't
195
at least for me and i don't know why
196
but again this has been a super smooth pregnancy for me maybe me and this girl are just
197
working in tandem on everything.
198
I have not yet cried for a crazy reason.
199
I do find myself more emotionally attached to things.
200
So if I'm watching a show that's particularly sad, I'm gonna cry.
201
instantly.
202
If something happens in my life that's super fulfilling or makes me feel happy, I'm far more attached to that emotion and I have a far,
203
let's say, closer reach to that emotion than I did
204
before and it just feels like you're more in tune with everything then your intuition is really high at least for me.
205
So yeah, not particularly emotional, in the sort of negative sense, in the crying sense, in the angry sense,
206
but definitely I'm sooner to get to certain emotions than I was before.
207
Erin Velasquez Jr., who's super active on Patreon,
208
says, "Have you sung a lullaby that has made your pre -born baby calm?" This is something that I was interested in.
209
I play a lot of music for her.
210
I sing a lot for her,
211
but I don't have that connection of doing something and then noticing a particular reaction from my baby in the womb.
212
A lot of women say that they have that.
213
My sister -in -law, I guess we'll call her, she says that she can say certain things
214
or act in a certain way and she feels the connection to her baby's movements
215
and what he gets up to in the womb.
216
I have not had that.
217
But I think that's pretty...
218
normal.
219
But yes, there's been a lot of singing.
220
I'm a theater nerd, so you can imagine what's going on in this house.
221
My neighbor's like, "I hear you singing from time to time.
222
Or I hear you singing with your sister." So she can vouch that that has been happening in this household.
223
I have, interestingly, since becoming pregnant, had aversions to certain music, super overstimulating music.
224
Can't get into it anymore.
225
Disgusting rap music where you're just like, "Oh, before I would have been able to listen to this No. So sorry.
226
Cause what?
227
And I feel like even if I'm listening to it, like there's some sort of a attachment here.
228
We need to cut this off.
229
I would not expose this to her.
230
I would not allow her to listen to this.
231
Why am I listening to this right now?
232
So that's an interesting thing about music.
233
And I know a lot of other women have stated that they felt the same about that.
234
Orangey234 says, how do you feel about your body changing through pregnancy?
235
The obvious one being the bump.
236
Guys, I have never felt better, okay?
237
And you feel so feminine.
238
I don't know what it is.
239
When you're pregnant, there is something that creates...
240
just an attachment to the feminine world that you exist in and the womanly world that you exist in.
241
I know I'm not the only one who experienced it.
242
Never felt more like a woman in my life.
243
And for obvious reasons, it's so crazy and interesting to watch your body change, to feel a human being living inside of your body
244
and to have that be a consistent thing that you go through throughout the day that is just there.
245
positive, some that feel super negative, but all attached to this outcome that you know is down the line of a child being in your hands.
246
So for me, where I would have had certain insecurities about my body, pregnancy and
247
This acknowledgement that any negative feeling that you have about your body is attached again to you having a child helps,
248
I think, sort of ground the mind out of insecurity and negative thinking about your body.
249
Now, that is not the same for everybody.
250
A lot of people have a really hard time going through pregnancy and witnessing the body changing.
251
For me, I've been dealing with ab separation, diastasis recti, which is super common.
252
A lot of pregnant women go through it.
253
So after birth.
254
My abs are going to be separated.
255
They are separated now.
256
And I'm just gonna have to work to
257
bring back that core strength and bring things back together but nothing that one
258
cannot handle yeah other than that i'm trying to think of what other bodily changes.
259
have taken place.
260
I mean, Not much.
261
I pretty much have the same body with just a huge bump on it. Which, again...
262
Super lucky in that regard.
263
I think my mom said she gained like 80 pounds
264
or something during her first pregnancy with my brother and he was a big boy.
265
So, Again, lucky.
266
Last question is from Naomi Delamote.
267
I hope I'm saying your name right.
268
I don't think I did.
269
Would you allow your child slash children to use AI?
270
Hell no. Hell no. And hell no. I'm not going to have my child on any screen.
271
And I don't know at what point I will even allow that to be introduced.
272
I've seen some Doctors argue two years Some said three years.
273
I think I'm going to try to take it even further than that.
274
I just don't see the value in it now.
275
Is AI going to be a huge part of our future?
276
Absolutely.
277
At some point, is my child probably going to be using AI in some regard, probably without me even knowing?
278
Absolutely.
279
Are there maybe healthy ways that it could be used or, you know, could it be a supplement to something?
280
Sure.
281
I don't know what age that's going to be.
282
13, 14.
283
years old.
284
I don't know what that's going to be for my child, but my through line philosophy for their development and them growing up is to limit screens as much as possible.
285
And that means.
286
limiting AI.
287
I think there's a lot of benefit to having your child naturally develop all the different neural pathways
288
that they need to use their brain and have it function properly.
289
And I Introduction of AI might have a skip a lot of steps.
290
with kids and their development.
291
My friend Sabrina sent me a video the other day of
292
this woman who is creating like this AI slop content on YouTube for kids to watch
293
and this content is getting millions upon millions of likes
294
and views from kids who are just sitting on YouTube kids
295
or TikTok just consuming this and that's what I think of when I think of kids using AI.
296
Maybe you mean it It's not going to be happening.
297
I don't think for studying purposes.
298
I don't think for entertainment purposes.
299
I don't think for general questions.
300
I'm going to be keeping it pretty old school.
301
in my house.
302
John and I have for a long time throughout our relationship had long discussions about parenting
303
and raising kids and for the most part we're going back to our roots baby.
304
We are not letting any of this new in the building
305
and I know that's interesting because of what I do for work.
306
I'm going to try as much as possible to keep my work separate from my child.
307
It's not using screens in front of them to not be doing a lot of this work in front of their eyes.
308
So we will see how that goes.
309
Again, this is my ideal situation.
310
We'll see how things end up panning out.
311
But your girl is not raising an iPad baby.
312
Remember it was iPad kid.
313
Now it's iPad baby.
314
Anyways.
315
Neither here nor there, guys.

Klanken die Nederlandstaligen lastig vinden:

  • Stemhebbende eindmedeklinker — /b/, /d/, /g/, /z/, /v/ niet verscherpen: expose /ɪkˈspoʊz/, microwave /ˈmaɪkɹoʊˌweɪv/, subscribe /səbˈskɹaɪb/, intrigue /ˈɪntɹiːɡ/, medicalize /ˈmɛdɪkəlaɪz/
