Growing up I was always really into art and making things

and crafting but throughout middle school and high school I actually never really took any art classes.

I think I was just really lost on who I was

and then during my senior year of high school I had this epiphany.

I wanted to be an artist.

I didn't know what kind of artist, but I just knew that's what I wanted to do.

I applied to my local university for graphic design.

I live in Denver, Colorado, so it was not very competitive at all.

It was also a very affordable university.

I did not care about prestige.

I just wanted education.

It was there in graphic design school that I really discovered my love of design and art and, most importantly, storytelling.

I think my program did a really good job at teaching

me the merits of graphic design in terms of marketing and branding and selling a product.

So during my second year of college in 2020, the pandemic happened of course.

My parents were really struggling with money back then so I was thinking of ways that I could ease their load.

I saw a ton of people online sculpting with polymer clay

and polymer clay was actually my favorite medium when I was a kid.

It felt like fate.

I started my business called Uncomfy Studio.

I started posting online and that's kind of how I got my start on my career.

Over the years, my brand

and my art has really just become a love letter to my inner child

because I know what it's like to not believe in yourself and I just want you to believe in yourself too.
