Do you know all of the names of the meals in English.
5
We will talk about each meal,
6
what it's called, different kinds of foods that people like to eat for each meal,
7
and also example conversations about each meal.
8
By the end of the episode, you will know how to talk about meals in English.
9
The first meal of the day is called breakfast.
10
For me, breakfast is the most important meal of the day.
11
I cannot function in the day if I don't eat a good breakfast.
12
Breakfast is what people typically eat in the morning before they go to work or school or even if they stay home,
13
it is the first meal that they eat.
14
There are lots of people that don't like eating breakfast and that are not hungry in the morning.
15
I am definitely not one of those people.
16
Breakfast is what people eat after they wake up.
17
Some common foods to eat for breakfast are bread or toast,
18
cereal, eggs, pancakes, French toast, bacon, sausage, yogurt.
19
some people like to eat a lighter breakfast such as yogurt and other people like to eat a much heavier breakfast.
20
For example eggs with bacon and sausage.
21
In the UK they are known for having English breakfast,
22
which is a very heavy breakfast, which has eggs, sausage, baked beans,
23
and it is really delicious, but I've had it a few times,
24
and afterwards I just want to go to sleep.
25
It's really hard for me to eat too much of a heavy breakfast in the morning because afterwards I'm just too tired.
26
I personally love to eat cereal.
27
I eat oats with nuts and flax seeds and chia seeds and fresh fruit and soy milk.
28
This is the breakfast that I have been eating almost every day for years now and it never fails.
29
If I don't eat this breakfast,
30
I swear I feel kind of weird the rest of the day.
31
Another part of breakfast which is very important for lots of people is coffee or tea.
32
Some people like to drink coffee or tea before they eat breakfast and some people like to drink it after.
33
Some people also drink coffee or tea all day long.
34
Though some typical questions that you would say for breakfast is if you are asking someone what they eat for breakfast,
35
you would simply say, What do you eat for breakfast?
36
Or, What do you like to eat for breakfast?
37
You could even say, do you prefer eating eggs or cereal for breakfast?
38
So let's try a sample conversation.
39

40
Have you had breakfast yet?
41
Yes, I did.

In the United States, it is typically eaten earlier between 12 and 1 p.m at the latest,
48
and in Spain it is eaten much later.

51
soup, salad, pasta, rice, or some kind of light protein such as beans,
