Bunny's Book Club by Annie Silvestro illustrated by Todd Shanna Mywis Bunny loved books.
5
He'd loved them ever since he first heard the lady with red glasses reading aloud outside the library.
6
As he listened, Bonnie imagined himself climbing mountains, captaining a ship, rolling a kingdom.
7
But when summer ended, storytime moved back inside.
8
Bunny wasn't sure if animals were allowed in the library.
9
But Bunny was sure he couldn't live without bugs.
10
Night after night, he could hardly sleep for wishing.
11
He had to do something!
12
So with a flashlight in his paws and hope in his heart, Buddy jumped out of bed and tiptoed through the dark.
13
But when he reached the library door, it was locked.
14
So were the windows.
15
When he tried digging, climbing, and yanking, nothing worked.
16
Until he finally noticed.
17
The book returned!
18
The shiny handle was far above his head, but it was no match for a high-hopping bunny, hungry for books.
19
Bunny leapt!
20
He clung to the bar, flung himself over, and wriggled his cottontail through the slot.
21
He landed inside with a thud.
22
Bunny's eyes sparkled at the sight of the shelves, bursting with books.
23
It was better than a field full of fresh, crunchy carrots.
24
Bunny didn't know where to start.
25
He took a deep breath.
26
It smelled as if he were wrapped inside the pages of his favorite book.
27
He followed his nose to the adventure section.
28
There he found stories about swashbucklers, sharks, and superheroes.
29
Bunny greedily grabbed them all.
30
His whiskers twitching with excitement, he slipped his treasures through the book slot, one by one.
31
Then performing his best balancing act, Bunny wobbled home.
32
He couldn't wait to dig in.
33
As the bunny returned to the library each night, he searched and sneaked, then scurried back to read.
34
Soon his home was more books than Burrow.
35
Then one evening, a loud knock startled bunny.
36
He closed his book and opened the door.
37
Where have you been? asked Porcupine.
38
Reading, said Bunny.
39
Why? said Porcupine.
40
Bunny's eyes popped wide open.
41
Why? he spluttered.
42
Have you ever been to the library?
43
It was time for Bunny to let Porcupine in on his secret.
44
Are you sure this is a good idea? said Porcupine.
45
Calm your quills, said Bunny.
46
I'm too prickly.
47
I'll never fit.
48
Bunny pushed and shoved until Pup went Porcupine.
49
Bunny slipped and flipped on his flashlight.
50
Whoa, said Porcupine.
51
I know, said Bunny.
52
Do you think there's a story about balloons?
53
I've always wondered about balloons.
54
Most definitely, said Bunny.
55
Sure enough, Porcupine found books on balloons, and on deserts and dunes, on caterpillars and cocoons.
56
When Bunny handed him one about hedgehogs, he hugged it.
57
The two friends took turns cramming books out of the slot.
58
Their towers teetered so high they could barely carry them.
59
Back at Bunny's, they cozied up with cups of tea and carrot muffins.
60
Together they read until sunrise.
61
One night, Bear noticed the light on at Bunny's.
62
He opened the door and tripped over a stack of books.
63
What's going on? said Bear.
64
Here's a bunny, handing him a book.
65
Bear made room and settled in to read.
66
Soon more curious animals began visiting.
67
Do you have any books about outer space? said Bird.
68
Or about volcanoes? asked Mole.
69
I'd like a ghost story, said Mouse.
70
I think it's time for a field trip, said Bunny.
71
One by one, the animals stuffed themselves inside the library.
72
Fear caused a bit of a delay.
73
They scattered about, sniffing the stacks, pawing over pages.
74
Squirrel gathered stories about the circus.
75
Raccoon nabbed one about outlaws and bandits.
76
Frog found a fairy tale.
77
No one heard the key in the front door.
78
No one heard the clack-clack clacking of footsteps.
79
No one heard the light flick on.
80
What do we have here?
81
Said the librarian.
82
The animals looked up in shock.
83
Bunny gasped.
84
Percupine gaped.
85
Bear groaned.
86
Follow me, she said.
87
The animals marched slowly behind her.
88
done for, whispered Porcupine.
89
All libraries have rules, said the librarian sternly.
90
Bunny's whiskers trembled.
91
Porcupine's back bristled.
92
Bear eyed the door, but he stepped forward to take the blame.
93
The librarian leaned down.
94
The first rule is every book lover must have one of these, she said.
95
She handed Bunny and his friend's shiny new library cards.
96
Now you may borrow books, she said smiling, as long as you return them, of course.
97
But he couldn't believe his ears.
98
They could keep coming to the library.
99
He beamed at his fellow readers, then bounced to the shelves.
100
He picked the perfect book, and he proudly checked out the very first official selection for...

What is the Shadowing Technique?

Shadowing is a science-backed language learning technique originally developed for professional interpreter training and popularized by polyglot Dr. Alexander Arguelles. The method is simple but powerful: you listen to native English audio and immediately repeat it out loud — like a shadow following the speaker with just a 1–2 second delay. Unlike passive listening or grammar drills, shadowing forces your brain and mouth muscles to simultaneously process and reproduce real speech patterns. Research shows it significantly improves pronunciation accuracy, intonation, rhythm, connected speech, listening comprehension, and speaking fluency — making it one of the most effective methods for IELTS Speaking preparation and real-world English communication.
