You know, this isn't the most exciting car on the face of the planet.

This is not a car that you wake up and you go, oh my God, this is the coolest thing ever.

This car, I honestly have a hard time getting like really strong feelings about because it's just solid.

It's a solid EV.

But the more I think about that, the more I'm realizing that this is what we were aiming for.

This is what we were hoping to have after a whole bunch of years of really, really solid progression and development of electric cars.

Not everything's gonna be a roadster or a sports car, but you just need some good,

solid electric cars that are decently priced and can just do all the things right.

And that's what's behind me.

See that blob over there?

That's the new Audi A6 Sportback Electric.

And this is the first video I'm also shooting on this channel on the new iPhone 18 Pro Max.

So, in case you were looking for a huge quality difference, you can see what that looks like.

I also asked them very nicely not to make too much noise so that's why they're all

chilling over there kind of frozen but I think they'll unfreeze at some point

because that's just what they tend to do anyway yeah this

car is fairly priced it rides decently well it is decently

well featured it's not missing anything like I said I don't

have like really strong feelings towards kind of any of it

I mean look at it it's it's an a6 it's the electric a6

but it's only like $2 ,000 more starting in the gas version of the A6.

And this is the nice one, the Quattro.

It's got all wheel drive.

It's got 81 more horsepower and it's a little more peppy but I think what I've realized again

is that I can appreciate a car like this more because the only reason it exists

is because electric cars are doing the thing.

We're finally getting decent ones.

So let's see if you guys agree with me.

This is the outside of the A6 and this is the silhouette

which as you can see is pretty unremarkable not totally featureless

but again it doesn't make me feel any strong sort of

way here's up at the front you can see it's obviously the electric one with the grill up here

but then I have the keys with me

so you can see the animation that these headlights do

when they greet you you can change between I think eight of these in the car settings

so when you walk up to the car I can play this little animation on the headlights to greet you

which is kind of cool you know it's got the logo

on the front there is a front trunk in there

which I'll show you guys in a second there is some good coverage on the wheels

and again you have these flush door handles

so you do have to reach in there

but this is the shape of a car

that just says I am electric I'm going to be efficient

and cut through the air quickly 0 .23 drag coefficient and that's how you get 300 plus miles of range.

The nice thing though is this storage

because the regular a6 is not a hatchback this one is

so coming around to the back of the car you can

see here it's got this tail light I gotta watch where I'm stepping tail light bar

which again you can choose the animations for it here's the one that I currently have configured

the Audi logo lights up cool but then

when you get in here there's actually a good amount of storage

and these rear seats lie flat if you want them to

which just makes it this huge continuous area and

that is a lot of storage space and the fact

that it's a hatch you can put larger items in here with the back seats down is even more practical.

Got these little nets over on the side.

Small front trunk for your charging cable over here.

And a little 12 watt outlet so yeah, that's nice.

That's practical.

It's not blowing my mind, it's not making me freak out but you know, that's good.

Even the color is like this light gray with a tiny bit of metallic flake in it.

Kind of makes it look a little green from certain angles.

I mean normally this is just what I would call a gray car, but there's a little more to it.

And then with a lot of these Volkswagen Group cars, you have the dual charging ports.

On the right hand side is the slow charger.

This door opens and there's a slow charger.

But on the left hand side is your fast charger and it is CCS.

Here's something I just learned.

If you try to open the left charging port, they go, no, no, no, I've got to close the right charging port first and then open the left charging port.

They can't be open at the same time.

Interesting.

But there's your CCS port and it'll charge it about 270 kilowatts.

So you can go like 0 to 70 or 10 to 80 in like the 20 minute range.

That's fine.

That's solid.

And you know what?

Okay, while we're talking about fine slash solid, let me just show you the front trunk while we're at it, right?

This is a, you gotta open this latch down here.

And I don't expect many people to use this because it's not like particularly premium space.

But if I can get my hand in there.

That's the front trunk.

And yeah, I don't know, a backpack or something, if you really had to squeeze.

What I found more interesting was if you want to see the VIN, you'd have to pop this open and it's got it printed on the metal here.

So that never gets dirty.

You always have a visible VIN number under there or just up there.

Anyway, yeah, there's a front trunk.

But you know, inside, Audi does these interiors pretty well.

So I know not everyone's going to love these door handles, but they do work every time, at least so far, so that's been nice.

Then you go ahead and sit in the driver's seat, and this is the place to be in the A6 as it sort of lowers everything into place.

So we've got a nice big 10 or 11 -inch touchscreen back here, a 14 -inch touchscreen right here, wireless CarPlay and Android Auto, a second display over to the right here,

which you can light up for your passenger

and they can start to play with things like LED lighting and speakers and media.

And there's a whole bunch of other solid features too that I'm happy to see.

In general, none of this should be shocking because Audi has made good cars and good interiors for a long time.

And since they dabble in the luxury stuff, there's plenty of that in here too.

These seats are ventilated.

This is also, it's got, it's like very nicely optioned.

I think this is closer to $80 ,000, this spec.

So it's got the banging Olsen speakers with the speakers and the headrest.

They sound pretty nice, I will definitely say.

You'll know you've got that when you've got the little badge up there at the front.

But yeah, you've got this nice wood up here, this sort of a cream leather, and these seats have a ton of adjustment.

This thigh support goes out, all of this bolstering moves.

Everything is very soft and plush and comfortable, so pretty happy with the comfort in the front seat.

And then I always like to talk about the layouts of these things.

So you do have a weird sound when you open the center console, but this goes deep into here for some reason.

So that's cool.

A little bit of piano black.

I don't love the piano black, but it seems like a lot of these cars have it, and that's why they're all fingerprinty, and I'm not sorry for leaving it that way.

But two cup holders.

This is your gear selector, parking brake, your start -stop button, which I wish you didn't have to have, but it's there, two USB type -c ports,

and up here is actually a wireless charger for your phone and more storage space down there.

Nothing really down the middle underneath here or anything, but there is a real glove box over here.

And an interesting feature that I haven't seen in a lot of other cars is up here is a dash cam.

Dash cam feature, all you need to do is pop in a micro SD card, and then built in you can actually use the dash cam feature of the car to save footage,

review footage, etc. It's nice that it's actually built into the car.

I'm surprised more EVs don't do that.

There is no opening glass roof, but there is a big panoramic glass roof up here, and just like a lot of other cars, you can hit this button to tint it,

and it tints with the electrochromic tint instead of like some sliding cover.

It actually does this cool effect so you can tint it in sections

or untint it with that single button press or do like a pattern on the top or whatever.

That's sort of gimmicky stuff, but you can do that with this roof.

And shout out to Audi for having your adjustable regen with these paddle shifters as well.

Kind of similar to some other cars we've seen like the Taycans and the Ionics of the world.

But yeah, you do have to press start to fire the car up and then all the systems come to life.

And like I said, there's wireless CarPlay and Android Auto if you want it.

But there's also weirdly like a bunch of different apps in here.

It's not quite Android, but there are apps like the Vivaldi web browser.

The stock web browser is Vivaldi for some reason.

There's the Alexa app, there's the YouTube app, and AccuWeather.

So all these things are built in and you can mess around with those.

And of course this is the passenger display which you can turn off if you're really not into being distracted.

But I want to get to the back seat because in a full -size sedan like this, surely you care about the back seat.

This is a little smaller than like some of the full size sedans I've reviewed in the past.

Like a Tesla Model S will have more room than this.

But let me go ahead and sit down so you can see.

So behind my 6 .3 driving position, which is a little bit further back than you'd expect, this is an okay amount of leg room.

I can sort of splay out to the side.

There's little cutouts in the back here because I know some people might need that extra room.

There's also a tiny bit of room under the seat for my legs to kind of go under there.

It's not the most room I've ever seen.

If you've got a smaller passenger, it's a bit more room.

But these are heated rear seats.

You've got a little bit of ventilation up here too, which is nice.

But again, it's the A6.

Like I said, I'm not feeling like thrilled or anything, but it's yeah.

But then speaking of solid, driving this car is the last big consideration.

And that's again when you come to the question of why would I get this one, the electric one over the gas one.

Because you obviously have the well -known commodity that is the gas A6.

The electric version, as anticipated I would think, is just a little bit more versatile.

It has a wider envelope of behavior.

So between super chill and comfortable and relaxed and quiet and sporty and powerful.

So in its chill setting, like you can put it in comfort mode, this is a very quiet, very soft, chill ride.

It's very quiet in here.

I think that's one of the highlights.

So the speakers sound much better because of how quiet the cabin is.

But, you know, seals are all great.

It isolates the outside sound.

So just riding around in here, even though there's no engine noise, there's also very little tire noise.

Then you of course have the drive mode selector down here.

So you hit that and you can bump it up to the dynamic setting.

It can stiffen up a little bit, get a little bit more sporty.

And it's almost 500 horsepower and it'll do zero to 60 in the low force.

Like it is very quick, very peppy, maybe more than you would expect.

So more so than the gas A6, this has like a breadth of performance abilities.

Now it's not the RS E -tron GT, don't get me wrong.

This is still a 5 ,000 pound sedan, so it'll feel like that.

that a lot of people were sort of taken aback by things like the Ioniq 5

and the Model S and these bigger sedans having a whole bunch more performance ability, it's got it.

It's got dual motors, it's got plenty of zip, as they say.

The Quattro especially, it's only $2 ,000 more I think for the Quattro being all -wheel drive and like 80 more horsepower.

It seems like a no -brainer performance option so that's worth pointing out.

I think I would probably check that box every single time if given the choice.

No, it's not an RSE Tron GT.

What this is is a comfortable, standard, well -optioned, and I think fairly priced EV.
