but after using this for the past six weeks,

let me tell you why it's not.

The first most important distinction is that while both of these serums have 15% vitamin C,

1% vitamin E, and 0.5% ferulic acid,

the Skinceutical serum has 15% L-ascorbic acid,

which is the purest, most potent form of vitamin C,

whereas the e.l.f serum has a mixture of 3-O-ethyl ascorbic acid and ascorbic acid.

So it's a less potent derivative version of pure vitamin C.

Now because this is pure L ascorbic acid, it's kind of unstable.

I've used about five bottles of this.

One of them I cracked open was straight up brown.

And I swear I follow all of the rules.

I don't break the seal until I'm ready to use it.

I store it in a dark,

cool place and it will still change color pretty quickly.

Whereas the e.l.f serum, I've been using this for like a month and a half.

And it's not as light as when I first opened it,

That's not to say the elf is bad these are actually two very strong vitamin c serums

but this is definitely not a dupe for this and i actually kind of like that
