MAX VOICEOVER: This is my friend Dave.

And he has no idea that he's standing on stage in front of thousands of people, about to perform with his favourite musician.

And that's because he's been blindfolded for the last six hours.

So, how will he react when I remove his blindfold and tell him, he's going to perform?

Well, we'll get to that.

But first, I need to show you how we got here.

Dave is a mate of mine, and he's also an incredible guitarist.

He's done busking, he's played shows in London, he's played shows all over, but I've always felt, he's never had the audience that he really deserves.

There is a song that he loves to play.

It's called "Help Herself" by an artist called bbno$.

I realised that bbno$ was playing in London, at the O2 Academy Brixton, which is like one of the most iconic music venues in the UK.

So what if I could get Dave on stage to play this song, in front of a crowd of thousands of people?

Well, there was one person who could make this happen, so I reached out to the man bbno$ himself.

I'm well, thank you, mate.

I've just got a very quick question for you.

You know you've got your gig in London coming up soon?

So, a mate of mine, is a massive fan...

MAX V/O: But how would he respond, to my insane request?

I was wondering whether I could surprise him, by playing with you at the gig.

So, with my baby on board, it was time to surprise Dave.

So, I'm on the way, to go meet Dave, with a blindfold, and some headphones.

I'm going to take him to the venue, and remove the blindfold at the last minute.

I'd arranged to meet Dave, but he had no idea why.

I'm like giddy! And like most of my friends at this point, he was completely unfazed by me showing up to his door with a camera.

I brought a friend.

DAVE: Yeah, I noticed.

DAVE: What have you planned?

MAX: I'd like to suggest...

This. And these.

I would like to take you somewhere, you have no idea where we're going.

OK. Um... sure?

MAX V/O: Dave would be unable to see or hear anything, and he wasn't due on stage for five whole hours.

MAX: Just wait there for a second, I'm just going to talk to you in a sec.

A fact which housemate Tom, found particularly hilarious.

Look at him!

MAX: He looks like an NPC that's frozen mid-game.

With Dave senses well and truly shut off from the outside world, it was time for the hard part: ferrying a blind Dave across London to the venue in the south of the city.

MAX: So, I'm going to link you arm-in-arm with me now.

DAVE: Oh. MAX: And we'll just get walking.

DAVE: Oh, lovely.

MAX: Yeah. DAVE: Is this your first kidnapping?

MAX: Weirdly, no.

MAX V/O: To make sure that Dave was well and truly disorientated with absolutely no idea where he was going, we'd be taking a rather unorthodox route across the city - taking the train, the underground, and a cab all to completely confuse Dave as to where we were going.

MAX: We're nearly at the train station, it's just took us 20 minutes to get there.

MAX: Where you think we are?

DAVE: I don't know. Er... sounds like a station?

So, this is my friend David.

MAX: Yeah. MAX: He's going to be performing on stage, he doesn't know it yet.

The next time he opens his eyes, he'll be in front of 5,000 people.

TRAIN ANNOUNCEMENT: The next station is... Liverpool Street.

MAX: Yeah! MAX: Uh, about an hour.

MAX: No idea where he is or what he's doing.

We snaked our way through London and Dave had no idea where he was.

MAX: Where do you think we are?

DAVE: Um, well, I counted... six stops.

Farringdon? Tottenham Court Road?

MAX: Yes.

This was the longest and strangest commute, of our entire lives.

DAVE: Sorry.

DAVE: Feels like we've been traveling for about three hours.

And after what felt like a lifetime of trying to keep Dave alive, the hard part of our journey was over.

And it was time to safely pop him in a taxi.

DAVE: Thank you!

You really cannot see anything.

I actually just want to know what it feels like to be him right now, so, I have got a blindfold as well.

One taxi ride and a mild concussion later… DAVE: hell.

The O2 Academy Brixton has played host to some of the world's biggest stars - such as Madonna, Ed Sheeran, the Rolling Stones, and for one night only, my friend Dave.

With him safely backstage, there was one particular person I wanted Dave to meet… MAX: Smells like garlic.

MAX V/O: Mr bbno$.

We took him from his flat.

We put these on.

MAX: He’s been on the train, the London Underground, MAX: a taxi… Look, he has no idea where he is.

MAX: He is going on stage in about 15 minutes.

So, with the big moment fast approaching, I escorted him to the side of the stage.

MAX V/O: Time for me to give Dave a proper introduction.
