1
In this video, we're going to identify the best upcoming jobs in 2026.
2
But just identifying them is not enough.
3
I'm also going to show you how to figure out what is the best job for you.
4
And also what you need to do to actually get there.
5
Because in 2026, unfortunately, the job markets are not so hot right now.
6
So you can't just expect to get some sort of degree
7
and then think that you would be able to get the job.
8
Crazy, right?
9
And finally, there is a small subset of people with a very specific set of traits
10
which if you fall under this category,
11
I think I may have the dream job for you.
12
So I'm going to put on screen now a quick little quiz you can put into the comments
13
if you have more than,
14
let's say, half of these traits.
15
And I'll explain what that job is later in the video.
16
But first, let's actually look at the research
17
and objectively see what are the fastest and largest growing jobs in the next few years.
18
A portion of this video is sponsored by Perplexity.
19
Here is the list of the largest growing jobs by 2030,
20
according to the World Economic Forum.
21
I also did cross-check these with other sources like the Bureau of Labor Statistics and the International Labour Organization,
22
and they all more or less have similar vibes.
23
At the very top, we have farm workers,
24
labourers, and other agricultural workers,
25
followed by light truck, war delivery service drivers,
26
software and application developers, etc,
27
etc, etc. As the WF states,
28
front-light jobs, which refers to roles that are involving direct hands-on interaction with customers,
29
clients, and public, are predicted to see the largest growth in absolute terms of volume.
30
This includes farm workers, delivery drivers,
31
construction workers, salespersons, and food processing workers.
32
We also see an increased prediction of care economy jobs,
33
such as nursing professionals, social work,
34
counseling professionals, and personal care aides,
35
as well as education roles,
36
such as tertiary and secretary education teachers.
37
We also do see that coming up at number three is software and application developers on the technology side.
38
Now here is the fastest growing jobs by 2030.
39
So these may not have the objectively largest number of roles,
40
but they are the fastest growing jobs by percentage terms.
41
And we can see that technology-related roles dominate this list,
42
including big data specialists, fintech engineers,
43
AI machine learning specialists, and software and application developers, and security management specialists.
44
We also see quite a few green and energy transition roles,
45
including autonomous and electric vehicle specialists,
46
environmental engineers, and renewable energy engineers.
47
So there you have it.
48
These are the predictions for the largest and fastest growing roles in 2030.
49
Let me know in the comments if you have a job that's within these domains
50
or you're looking to go into any of these jobs.
51
Now, do we have any overachievers watching this video?
52
Because if so, this next section is for you.
53
Because if you can combine one of these roles with some of the macroeconomic trends
54
that are going to be transforming businesses and driving the labor markets in the next few years,
55
that's going to be like,
56
boom, like amazing, even better.
57
You would be able to have access to the best opportunities available.
58
So here's the graph of the macro trends driving business transformation for the next few years.
59
The x-axis here is the share of employees that are surveyed
60
that identified the stated trend on the y-axis is likely to drive business transformation.
61
So at the top we have broadening digital access,
62
followed by rising cost of living,
63
higher price of inflation, increased efforts and investments to reduce carbon emissions,
64
increased focus on labor and social issues,
65
etc. Grouping this together, there are five like macro macro trends.
66
Rapid technological change, notably AI.
67
Green transition referring to more focus on the environment geoeconomic fragmentation countries are having policies
68
that are more more nationalistic so less global cooperation economic uncertainty
69
and demographic shifts such as aging so what i did is take these largest
70
and fastest growing jobs and combine them together with the macro trends to ride
71
that wave too and then i wanted to actually make sure
72
that you know these are going to be real jobs
73
so i cross-referenced them with the onet list of jobs which is like the gold standard list of all jobs to get,
74
drumroll please, some of the best of the best upcoming jobs
75
that are the largest and the fastest growing and rides the wave of macro trends in the next few years.
76
There is a saying that rising tides lifts all boats.
77
So if you pick one of these jobs,
78
you would be one of those boats.
79
Okay, so now we know what are the best jobs,
80
like generally speaking, but as the person who actually has to do the job,
81
you also want to make sure that you're going to pick a job that is the most suitable for you, right?
82
So I actually did a YouTube poll asking you guys,
83
what are the characteristics of your dream job?
84
Because different people have different things that they're looking for.
85
Some of your answers include a well-paid remote job,
86
no ceiling for growth, ability to mentor and be mentored,
87
equity and bonus-based performance, solid product,
88
CPG or tech, positive work environment,
89
entrepreneurship, new problems keep coming up which I can solve,
90
remote flexible time benefits, remote,
91
remote came up a lot,
92
freelance plus types of work that I love,
93
I don't need six figures reasonable love to enjoy my life after paying bills is enough
94
so work-life balance and flexibility health insurance
95
and ample travel i have a feeling this person is from
96
the u.s anything to escape capitalism ai related ai related
97
and remote remote remote ai related and remote so you
98
if you have not written down what are the characteristics of your dream job please put it into the comments
99
and use the prompt that i'm gonna put on screen now
100
and stick that into your favorite AI chatbot to figure out what is actually the best job for you.
101
Might need to converse with the AI a little bit,
102
flesh out your thoughts a little bit,
103
but at the end of this exercise,
104
you should have a nice narrow down list to start exploring.
105
Custom just for you.
106
By the way, I'm kind of assuming that you're familiar with using AI at this point,
107
but if you are not,
108
check out this video over here where I summarize Google's nine-hour prompting course in just 20 minutes.
109
And then you can do this exercise.
110
Put into the comments what is the list of jobs that is the most suitable for you so we can all see.
111
By the way as a little tip don't stress out
112
so much about this entire exercise okay it's just to get you started.
113
Careers are long and jobs can adapt and change over time.
114
The most successful people
115
that I know are often also the most flexible people being able to adapt over time
116
so this little exercise is just to get you started in the right direction.
117
Also don't feel like you need to catch on to all of the macro trends
118
and like the best of the best either just you know pick something
119
that you know is going to be a rising tide and suitable for you.
120
Also remember the little quiz at the very beginning where I said that I know what your dream job is?
121
I shall tell you now.
122
You are the type of person that is most suitable to run what is called a digital lifestyle business.
123
Digital meaning that it's internet stuff where you build a thing and you make money through the internet.
124
Because of that it's also remote if you choose it to be.
125
And lifestyle business meaning
126
that it's not a venture capital backed startup where you're like focused on hyper growth and have investors to answer to.
127
It's just used to support your lifestyle where you're optimizing for doing something that you really enjoy,
128
work-life balance, and only working with people that you like working with.
129
This is also the type of job that yours truly also has.
130
I'll explain a little bit more about how to actually like go about achieving this type of job
131
but I want to say like what's cool about this type of job is
132
that it's also really applicable to almost all domains as long as you address it from like an internet software perspective.
133
So I'm going to put on screen now some of the digital lifestyle businesses that also take advantage of the rising tides.
134
This is not exhaustive okay?
135
Actually none of these lists are exhaustive.
136
I just want to like give you some examples.
137
And another thing that's really cool about doing a digital lifestyle business is
138
that because of AI democratizing the ability to build software,
139
your startup cost and barrier of entry to building stuff on the internet is so low right now.
140
You can start with just a few hundred dollars
141
and you don't even need to know how to code now if you know how to use vibe coding tools.
142
Go into more detail about this in the next section
143
but I do also want to put some caveats
144
because even though this category of job is really cool and is absolutely my dream job,
145
it's also not perfect.
146
In fact, it's like very much not perfect
147
and can be really stressful sometimes which is why I asked you guys to do
148
that survey right because it's actually not suitable for everybody some downsides to a digital lifestyle business is
149
that starting off it's probably going to be really hard to actually see results
150
so you have to really persevere
151
and put an effort into this without seeing linear results like
152
it took me four years to get to a point in
153
which I can say like wow like I'm actually running something
154
that seems legit and we're doing good in terms of cash flow it also requires a lot of self-learning Like for me,
155
I come from a STEM background.
156
I don't know anything about business.
157
So I learned a lot of things about business,
158
about accounting, about marketing, like so many different things.
159
And you're not gonna have work-life balance for like probably a significant amount of time.
160
I was working like 80 hours per week when I was starting my digital lifestyle business
161
while working a full-time job as well.
162
So yeah, if you still think that this is your dream job,
163
put it into the comments.
164
I actually really want to know.
165
The goal of AI, at least for me,
166
is to integrate it into my life in a way that actually supports how I think without introducing more noise.
167
One place that this has shown up is how I stay up to date with tech and AI,
168
which is literally my job.
169
By using Comet, which is Perplexity's free browser,
170
I could be reading an article like this one about the rise of open source models and implications of democratizing AI.
171
And as the Comet assistant,
172
give me the context behind this.
173
And it would explain to me this article is situating the current boom in open source frontier models,
174
DeepSeek, Llama, etc. with a bigger debate about who controls AI,
175
then I can ask it,
176
how does this fit into the context of the greater AI landscape?
177
And it says
178
that it's one piece of a broader shift where AI is
179
moving from a closed big tech dominated paradigm towards a mixed ecosystem,
180
powerful proprietary, and increasingly capable open models.
181
Interesting.
182
This is so much more effective
183
when I'm learning instead of having to switch between a lot of different tabs
184
or like doom scrolling X deluding myself that I'm actually learning.
185
Something else that I really care about,
186
especially with AI, is control.
187
With Common Assistant, you can set clear boundaries,
188
like being able to block it from acting on certain sites,
189
turning it off entirely, and being able to see exactly what kind of data it's using and why.
190
Ads and trackers are blocked by default,
191
and passwords and sensitive information is stored locally on your own device.
192
Common only sends the minimum context in order to complete a task,
193
so you're always in charge of what it sees and what it does.
194
Common is free to use right now if you want to try it out.
195
Add this link, also linked in description.
196
Now, back to the video.
197
Alright, before I end this video on the best upcoming jobs
198
out there I do also want to address how it is
199
that you can actually reach these jobs because unfortunately as I've said previously the labor market is not super hot right now.
200
So it's not like just because you want this job
201
that you're just going to be able to get this job right
202
and oftentimes just going to school and then getting like a specific degree
203
even relevant to
204
that job doesn't mean you're actually going to get a job perhaps with the exception of the trades related jobs though.
205
I am not an expert on this so please do your research
206
but from what I understand by doing some research it does
207
seem like going to trade school will generally land you like one of these jobs
208
which we know are some of the best upcoming jobs
209
but for those of you who are going more into the white collar jobs going to school
210
and getting degrees is not enough anymore.
211
Case in point people who have a Harvard MBA still have an unemployment rate of 23 percent.
212
Among young people recent graduates the average unemployment rate is 12.6 percent with few signs of improvement in the last few years.
213
So that is why I recommend what I call the soft commit model.
214
Like do not commit to an actual degree unless you're like literally going to college right now
215
and you got to choose a degree then yeah that makes sense.
216
But everybody else don't like just go do a master's degree where like you know just commit to
217
that and just hope that you're gonna end up with a job.
218
Instead I recommend that you do two things first.
219
First is to make a self-study plan where you're able to learn the minimum amount for your related role.
220
With the of ai this is very achievable for almost all
221
white collar jobs i also made a video about how to make a study plan
222
so you can check it out over here if
223
if you want next you want to do some sort of volunteering
224
or freelancing or internship related to that area again not going to say all
225
because can't say all
226
but a lot of jobs these days will have some version of it in
227
which you can get a taste for what it's going to be like
228
and at least like interact with people in
229
that role like technology related jobs i am very confident in that one because i happen to be in this space
230
like almost all of them have that.
231
Even like care related roles.
232
There's like volunteering roles that you can do in hospitals in different places.
233
I also know this by the way
234
because I actually have a degree in pharmacology because I was like pre-med and I did a lot of volunteering in hospitals.
235
I also did a lot of research in different labs and hospitals as well.
236
Anyways there are ways of doing this.
237
Might need to be a little bit more creative.
238
I also did make a video on freelancing specifically like how to get started freelancing
239
so you can check it out over here if you're interested.
240
Now after you do these two steps there is a possibility in
241
which you could actually just get that role that you want to get
242
or if you feel like you talk to the people who are in the role
243
that you're in and you realize
244
that the best path forward is to get a degree then please do
245
that the point i'm trying to make here is
246
that i just don't want you to like commit to a degree first
247
and then realize that it might not get you what you want
248
but you're smart i'm sure you can make the judgment now
249
finally those of you who are interested in the digital lifestyle
250
business route in addition to domain specific knowledge about what it is
251
that you're going to start a business on i'm going to
252
put on screen now a brief study plan with certain topics
253
that i think that you should learn
254
if you want to go down this path
255
and you're welcome on this one nobody gave me these i
256
wish somebody had given me this like five years ago
257
when i started this is the topics has come from a lot of trial
258
and error and a lot of tears
259
so you're welcome i hope to see you on the other side now with
260
that we have come to the end of this video thank you
261
so much for watching please do let me know in the comments if you haven't already.
262
What is your dream job?
263
And I will see you guys in the next video or live stream.
