All the hardware from the faucet to the knobs even, which are a little bit more modern, they're unlacquered, so with time, they will age and get more beautiful.
5:21.84 – 5:32.60 (10.8s)
57
even like when we're gone these guys will just get more and more beautiful with time i'm going to show you my favorite part of the kitchen it's the tiniest little thing but to me it makes me really feel like an adult like a passage of some sort introducing the spice rack yep Yep.
5:33.06 – 5:55.70 (22.6s)
58
My mom would be proud.
5:56.78 – 5:57.88 (1.1s)
59
This stove is also really special.
5:59.28 – 6:02.92 (3.6s)
60
It's called Ileve, and it is an Italian stove that we had shipped in from Italy.
6:02.42 – 6:08.12 (5.7s)
61
They're manufactured there, and what I loved about it is that it's a new stove, it's a new construction stove, but it feels vintage.
6:07.74 – 6:16.04 (8.3s)
62
Like, it feels all the details with the brass and all the knobs.
6:15.52 – 6:19.70 (4.2s)
63
Like, it has an aesthetic look that it's an art piece itself in the kitchen and it kind of it adds value without distracting too much which i love when we knocked the wall down there had to be some sort of a hood for the range and i didn't want to compromise the space because the whole point was to open up the space and be able to see everyone and a hood would have been down to about here probably it would have come down so we did a lot of research and we found this company called zephyr out of canada and i'm canadian so it was important to me to support Canadian brands and it's flush to the wall and it pulls up all the all the smells and all the fumes that come out when you're cooking and it doesn't obscure the view which is really important to me I love this fridge it was such a big like great find for me because it's very high-tech If you notice right here, there's a little button on the floor that says door open.
6:19.20 – 7:21.80 (62.6s)
64
Hold on.
7:23.20 – 7:23.90 (0.7s)
65
Hold on.
7:23.20 – 7:25.06 (1.9s)
66
There we go.
7:25.46 – 7:26.08 (0.6s)
67
So when you have all the groceries, you just, damn it.
7:25.38 – 7:29.62 (4.2s)
68
And it'll knock you out of the way.
7:32.78 – 7:34.48 (1.7s)
69
It works every other time.
7:35.18 – 7:36.80 (1.6s)
70
Boom.
7:37.08 – 7:37.68 (0.6s)
71
And then another space is the nook.
7:37.20 – 7:39.66 (2.5s)
72
I love waking up in the morning and having breakfast right here.
7:39.06 – 7:43.04 (4.0s)
73
The sunlight comes in and it's so pretty.
7:42.30 – 7:45.10 (2.8s)
74
And you just kind of lounge, whether you're reading the newspaper, which I've never done, so I shouldn't say that.
7:45.88 – 7:52.74 (6.9s)
75
But it's a great little space and there's a lot of room.
7:53.14 – 7:56.24 (3.1s)
76
I used to have a nook here before, but it was small and a much smaller table.
7:56.76 – 8:00.04 (3.3s)
77
So when we did the renovation, I wanted to add a second bench, get more pillows, get a bigger table.
8:00.66 – 8:06.64 (6.0s)
78
And now I can sit about 10 people, whereas before it was probably about four or five.
8:07.34 – 8:11.54 (4.2s)
79
So this sculptural piece is actually a plant, but it looks like a piece of art.
8:12.22 – 8:17.32 (5.1s)
80
It's called Ikebana, and one of my friends, Myla, comes in and makes them for me every now and then.
8:16.92 – 8:21.90 (5.0s)
81
They're really, really, really beautiful.
8:21.88 – 8:23.40 (1.5s)
82
And add a centerpiece to a table that speaks for itself so that you don't have to have all the clutter.
8:24.04 – 8:31.00 (7.0s)
83
It is everything you need and the only thing you need on a table, in my opinion.
8:31.00 – 8:35.92 (4.9s)
84
I opted to go for these chairs, which were actually one of my friends' chairs that I reclaimed and I stole them from Marpley, I paid for them.
8:40.08 – 8:48.74 (8.7s)
85
And we mixed it with the leather tops and also the oak bench over here that matches those chairs over there.
8:48.68 – 8:56.58 (7.9s)
86
So we had a lot of wood influence and organic materials.
8:56.38 – 9:00.16 (3.8s)
87
I wanted the table to look good from all angles.
8:59.98 – 9:03.08 (3.1s)
88
This is a custom piece that we had built from solid oak that is very finished and very detailed with the round edges.
9:02.68 – 9:10.50 (7.8s)
89
And it's an indoor-outdoor space.
9:10.10 – 9:12.96 (2.9s)
90
It's really important to me.
9:12.60 – 9:14.02 (1.4s)
91
The weather is great here in California.
9:13.50 – 9:15.66 (2.2s)
92
so having the flow of air, seeing the table from outside in the courtyard area, and every other angle, even the rounded legs on the table, everything was very, very, very detailed and beautiful, and I wanted it to be aesthetically pleasing from any angle, no matter where you are in the house.
9:15.60 – 9:33.44 (17.8s)
93
And then another thing about this room is the crown molding that is the original from 1929.
9:33.28 – 9:41.32 (8.0s)
94
So come on back so you can see the rest of the house.
9:41.12 – 9:43.30 (2.2s)
95
So this guest bedroom is kind of like the rest of the home.
9:49.04 – 9:53.06 (4.0s)
96
I wanted it to be inviting and feel welcoming and have someone feel like they were in their own home.
9:52.66 – 9:59.44 (6.8s)
97
So we put a lot of time and effort into getting fun pillows and having a wonderful ambiance with open windows and just kind of making it homey and fresh.
9:59.30 – 10:10.70 (11.4s)
98
As you can hear, all the floors are very creaky.
10:11.60 – 10:14.84 (3.2s)
99
It's squeaking a lot, and that's mainly because all the wood floors in the home are also original from the 1920s.
10:15.14 – 10:22.32 (7.2s)
100
And, you know, it's good for when someone tries to break in because then I can hear them and I can grab my bat.
10:22.84 – 10:29.54 (6.7s)
101
Very helpful for that, but someday when I have kids, they're really going to hate it because, you know, they won't be able to sneak out of the house as easily as I did when I was growing up.
10:30.22 – 10:40.02 (9.8s)
102
So my room is similar to the other room.
10:44.82 – 10:47.78 (3.0s)
103
It's open, light, airy, and I wanted it to feel very inviting, very jumpable.
10:47.78 – 10:54.82 (7.0s)
104
Oh, so cozy and inviting.
10:54.82 – 10:58.72 (3.9s)
105
I have this Longhorn that I actually got on a road trip a couple years back.
10:58.72 – 11:05.60 (6.9s)
106
I fell in love with it.
11:05.60 – 11:06.98 (1.4s)
107
I saw it on the side of the road, someone was selling it, and I got a sick deal on it.
11:06.98 – 11:11.72 (4.7s)
108
And it's been the centerpiece of my bed for a really long time.
11:11.72 – 11:15.20 (3.5s)
109
I should give it a name.
11:15.20 – 11:16.50 (1.3s)
110
It doesn't have a name.
11:16.50 – 11:18.24 (1.7s)
111
Looks like a Gerald to me.
11:19.72 – 11:22.50 (2.8s)
112
Feels like a Gerald because of the Jade.
11:22.50 – 11:25.18 (2.7s)
113
It's extremely heavy.
11:25.18 – 11:26.74 (1.6s)
114
It's so, so, so, so heavy.
11:27.32 – 11:29.22 (1.9s)
115
So it is a bit of a flight risk to hang above your bed.
11:29.22 – 11:33.24 (4.0s)
116
I was really scared and I had I think three or four guys come and build something behind the wall to make sure that it's secure enough so that while I'm sleeping it doesn't fall on my head and kill me.
11:33.24 – 11:42.50 (9.3s)
117
Another original historical moment in the house that I haven't really done much to because I wanted to keep it like you'll even see some of the tiles in this bathroom because they're from the 1920s and they're one of a kind and you can't get them anymore there's little cracks on the floor and there's little cracks in certain things but something about it the charm of it.
11:42.50 – 12:04.64 (22.1s)
118
I just fell in love with it.
12:04.64 – 12:05.74 (1.1s)
119
I didn't even want to redo it.
12:05.74 – 12:07.56 (1.8s)
120
I wanted to keep it like it is.
12:07.56 – 12:09.34 (1.8s)
121
It's really, really, really gorgeous.
12:09.34 – 12:11.78 (2.4s)
122
Now we're in the room that I spend a lot of time in.
12:17.14 – 12:20.14 (3.0s)
123
This is my little movie room.
12:20.14 – 12:21.78 (1.6s)
124
It's not a screening room by any means, but it's where I spend a lot of hours watching Netflix and HBO Max and all the things.
12:21.78 – 12:31.02 (9.2s)
125
This painting is actually charcoal.
12:31.02 – 12:37.62 (6.6s)
126
So my mom made this.
12:37.62 – 12:39.10 (1.5s)
127
I'm an actor.
12:38.20 – 12:40.16 (2.0s)
128
I'm in the film industry and this is my movie room.
12:40.16 – 12:43.67 (3.5s)
129
So I asked her, I sent her what I wanted and she lives in France.
12:43.67 – 12:48.43 (4.8s)
130
She's a painter.
12:48.43 – 12:49.39 (1.0s)
131
She hand made this with her fingers and charcoal and it's a painting of a picture of an x-ray of an old film camera.
12:49.39 – 13:00.71 (11.3s)
132
So I thought it'd be perfect for my little movie room.
13:01.45 – 13:03.23 (1.8s)
133
And yeah, it's just the cloud couch is super, oh, it's dangerous actually to be in this room.
13:03.01 – 13:10.75 (7.7s)
134
Especially during COVID.
13:11.61 – 13:12.83 (1.2s)
135
This is where I spent like a year of my life in this room.
13:12.63 – 13:16.99 (4.4s)
136
You just sink into these cushions and feel so alive.
13:17.40 – 13:21.79 (4.4s)
137
But again, more Buddha, more candles, more plants in this room too.
13:21.59 – 13:26.11 (4.5s)
138
Crystals, of course.
13:25.89 – 13:27.93 (2.0s)
139
When you take these down, it really gets really dark and it's like a real movie room.
13:28.11 – 13:32.75 (4.6s)
140
Now if you'll follow me outside.
13:33.69 – 13:35.55 (1.9s)
141
This is my little slice of heaven.
13:42.26 – 13:45.02 (2.8s)
142
When I bought the house originally, it reminded me of not California.
13:45.19 – 13:50.57 (5.4s)
143
Like it didn't feel like I was in a busy city.
13:50.25 – 13:53.69 (3.4s)
144
Plants in the Bougainvillea.
13:52.73 – 13:54.76 (2.0s)
145
There's another entertaining area here.
13:54.71 – 13:57.61 (2.9s)
146
We wanna have outdoor hangs with the girls, more wine nights.
13:57.55 – 14:02.49 (4.9s)
147
So I should mention, I started a wine company.
14:03.07 – 14:05.85 (2.8s)
148
It's called Fresh Fine Wine, and it's a low calorie, low carb, low sugar, keto, vegan friendly, and gluten-free wine from California.
14:05.35 – 14:16.33 (11.0s)
149
So welcome to my home.
14:15.99 – 14:17.69 (1.7s)
150
Mm, so refreshing.
14:20.07 – 14:22.37 (2.3s)
151
Actually, I wanna hold on to this.
14:22.02 – 14:23.57 (1.5s)
152
Let's go.
14:23.71 – 14:24.85 (1.1s)
153
So this was a pool house at the beginning of the pandemic.
14:25.05 – 14:27.61 (2.6s)
154
And I don't know, I got really antsy and I started ordering all this gym equipment because I needed to work out somehow.
14:27.17 – 14:34.23 (7.1s)
155
So I converted this whole space into a gym and I've actually been using it a lot more than I did when it was a pool house.
14:34.11 – 14:40.81 (6.7s)
156
I've got these amazing weights.
14:40.85 – 14:42.95 (2.1s)
157
I don't know if you've ever heard of this company, but it's called Pent Fitness.
14:42.81 – 14:46.90 (4.1s)
158
They're almost too pretty to work out because you don't want to mess them up, but they're made of solid oak and have this like metal detail and they're so pretty.
14:46.64 – 14:57.01 (10.4s)
159
This is what we do at Fresh Fried Wine.
14:56.64 – 14:58.85 (2.2s)
160
We work out while we drink.
14:59.14 – 15:01.40 (2.3s)
161
Jesus, that's heavy.
15:03.52 – 15:04.45 (0.9s)
162
Okay, so these little details are, a few years ago I had a Coachella themed birthday party and that was from the party they gave it to me afterwards.
15:04.31 – 15:15.61 (11.3s)
163
We created these like neon signs for the artist area and then up here I've got the Neonachella sign also hanging.
15:15.11 – 15:23.52 (8.4s)
164
So it feels like you're in a nightclub while at the gym.
15:23.33 – 15:27.81 (4.5s)
165
Not really, but sometimes when the music's blasting, it gets pretty intense.
15:28.23 – 15:31.11 (2.9s)
166
And then this big old snack fridge.
15:30.83 – 15:33.37 (2.5s)
167
She's my favorite.
15:33.90 – 15:35.14 (1.2s)
168
We keep all the good stuff in here, which is fun.
15:34.67 – 15:37.81 (3.1s)
169
She's a pop of color and continues that sort of retro energy and vibe in the home.
15:37.29 – 15:43.75 (6.5s)
170
Yeah.
15:46.59 – 15:47.21 (0.6s)
171
Not a lot of people come back here.
15:47.43 – 15:49.25 (1.8s)
172
And then finally we have the pool area.
15:54.14 – 15:56.07 (1.9s)
173
It's a small and modest pool but it does exactly what it needs to do in the summers.
15:56.07 – 16:00.52 (4.5s)
174
I actually don't heat it on purpose because it gets so hot.
16:00.07 – 16:03.83 (3.8s)
175
I sometimes run into the sauna and then use the pool as a cryo to cool off.
16:03.83 – 16:09.38 (5.6s)
176
Occasionally we'll put the hot tub on but honestly it's just this is a great little zen zone with Buddha in the corner.
16:09.43 – 16:15.95 (6.5s)
177
And it feels like you're not in the city.
16:17.01 – 16:18.75 (1.7s)
178
All right, A.D., thank you so much for coming.
16:33.09 – 16:35.05 (2.0s)
179
This has been real fun, but wine night is starting in about 20 minutes, and I've got some girlfriends coming over, so I'm going to have to say goodbye.
16:34.52 – 16:43.31 (8.8s)
180
Toodaloo!
16:45.88 – 16:46.61 (0.7s)
181
Thank you.
16:52.57 – 16:53.26 (0.7s)
