In this video, I'm going to show you how to set up your coding agent for Salesforce development using two headless 360 features,

Salesforce's agent skills and Salesforce's Salesforce DX MCP server.

Now in this video, I'm going to use Cloud Code, but these steps apply to pretty much any modern coding agent.

I'm Charles Watkins, lead developer advocate at Salesforce.

Let's get started.

A skill is a folder with a skill.md file, a name, description, and step-by-step instructions that your agent follows to complete a task.

Skills can also include scripts, reference docs, and other assets.

Salesforce publishes over 80 of these skills on GitHub, covering everything from building Lightning Web Components to deploying and observing AgentForce agents.

These are the same skills that power AgentForce Vibes.

To add Salesforce skills to your coding agent, run npx skills at force.com slash sf hyphen skills.

This command lets you clone skills from GitHub into your project.

You'll be prompted to select skills you want to add to your agent.

Press space to select the skill and press enter when you're done.

Then select the agent you want to install the skills for.

Next, pick your installation scope, project or global.

I'll pick project.

Finally, pick the installation method.

To save space and to make things simple, I'll pick Simlink, which points.clawedSkills to.agentSkills so ClaudeCode can find them.

Make sure that the ClaudeCodeSkills folder exists or the Simlink won't be created.

Confirm your installation and the skills will be loaded into your project.

If you want to simplify things, you can run the npxSkills command with the all flag.

This automatically downloads all skills, detects your coding agent and creates the Simlink automatically.

When you want to upgrade skills, run npx skill upgrade to get the latest versions.

Include a skill name to upgrade skills individually.

When you load up your agent and check for skills, they'll have the official skills for Salesforce development, similar to AgentForce vibes.

Let's do a quick test.

I'll ask ClaudeCode to create a Lightning Web Component.

See how it references the LWC skill by name and follows the instructions from the skill.md file?

That's how you know the setup is live.

With skills, our agent has the knowledge it needs to build on Salesforce.

Now let's give it access to the right tools using the Salesforce DX MCP server.

The Salesforce DX MCP server is a set of tools that help coding agents read, manage, and operate Salesforce resources securely.

Some skills specifically instruct your agent to use it.

To set it up, head to the Salesforce DX MCP GitHub repo, go to the MCP Configuration section,

and copy the config into the appropriate file for your coding agent.

For clawed code, that's .mcp.json.

Let's take a look at the MCP configuration file.

It points to the Salesforce MCP NPM package and specifies which tool sets and tools to enable.

I'm using orgs for org switching, metadata for deploying and retrieving metadata, data for executing SOQL queries,

and users for permission management.

I've also added run Apex Test as an individual tool.

This default config includes the core tools you will use during Salesforce development, but there are so many more.

Check the Salesforce DX MCP GitHub README for additional options.

Once you've configured the MCP server, restart the agent and check the status.

You should see the MCP server connected to Salesforce along with the tools it's been configured to expose.

Let's make sure it's connected.

I'll ask Claude Code to query my org.

It hits the MCP server, runs the SOQL query, and returns live data.

The coding agent is now configured to build on Salesforce using the latest Headless360 agent skills and the Salesforce DX MCP server.
