1
Hey everyone!
2
Welcome to 5-Minute English Practice, your quick daily shot of natural English.
3
I'm Jessica, and today we're diving into something every A2 learner dreams of.
4
Training your brain to think straight in English.
5
No more translating in your head.
6
It might feel weird at first, but it's all about tiny everyday habits that add up fast.
7
I'm super excited to have my friend Peter here to share his best tips.
8
Peter, hi.
9
Hey, Jess.
10
Hi, everyone.
11
So glad to be here.
12
Peter, why is thinking in English such a huge game changer?
13
Because once your brain starts thinking in English, everything flows so much faster.
14
You don't have to stop and translate in your head anymore.
15
The words just come out more naturally.
16
For A2 level, we don't need anything complicated.
17
Just little things you do every day, and over time your brain rewires itself.
18
I went through this myself, and after about a month I could feel the difference.
19
It was like my inner voice switched languages.
20
That sounds amazing.
21
Okay, Peter, take us through the exercises you recommend.
22
Let's start with the first one.
23
The first one is my favorite because it's so simple and you can do it anytime, anywhere there.
24
Just look around and name things in English in your head.
25
For example, when you wake up you see your phone.
26
Instead of thinking the word in your native language, just think phone.
27
You pick up your cup.
28
Cup, water, glass.
29
You look out the window, tree, sky, car passing by.
30
No need to say it out loud if you don't want to.
31
Just think the English word quietly to yourself.
32
I usually do this during my morning routine, while eating breakfast or walking to the bus stop.
33
Even five or ten minutes scattered through the day adds up.
34
At first it might feel a bit slow or forced,
35
but after a few days your brain starts making the connection straight from the object to the English word.
36
No translation step anymore, that's the magic.
37
I love how every day that is.
38
It's like giving your brain a gentle English shower all day long.
39
What about the second exercise?
40
The second one is talking to yourself in simple sentences.
41
I do this whenever I'm doing routine things alone, brushing my teeth, cooking, getting dressed, washing dishes.
42
For example, while brushing my teeth, I am brushing my teeth.
43
The toothpaste taste minty, it feels fresh.
44
Or while making lunch.
45
I am cutting the vegetables, now I add some salt, this smells really good.
46
You can say it quietly out loud if you're home alone, or just think the sentences in your head if you're around people.
47
Keep the sentences short and easy.
48
Mostly present simple tense is perfect at A2.
49
The point isn't perfect grammar, it's training your brain to build full English sentences automatically.
50
I usually spend two to three minutes at a time, a few times a day.
51
It feels a little silly at first, but it quickly becomes natural.
52
And the best part?
53
You're practicing real-life situations you already do every day.
54
That's so smart.
55
Turning ordinary moments into English practice without extra effort. And the third one?
56
The third exercise is my favorite way to end the day.
57
Before going to bed, take just three or four minutes to think back over your day in English.
58
something like today i woke up at seven i drank coffee
59
i went to work by bus for lunch i ate chicken
60
and rice it was tasty in the afternoon i felt a bit tired
61
but i was happy when my friend sent me a message you can keep it very simple
62
or add a few feelings if you want I felt excited when.. or it was fun because...
63
Do it in your head while lying in bed or whisper it quietly.
64
This one is powerful because it helps your brain replay real memories in English.
65
Over time, you'll notice that when you remember something that happened, the inner voice describing it is already in English.
66
It's like turning your daily life into an English story.
67
Wow, that's beautiful.
68
It's not just practice, it's connecting English to your actual experiences.
69
So overall, three gentle daily habits, naming things around you in English,
70
talking to yourself in simple sentences during routines and reviewing your day in English before sleep.
71
No pressure, no big time commitment, just consistency.
72
Even 10 to 15 minutes spread out over the day can make a real change.
73
Exactly.
74
And if you catch yourself thinking in your native language sometimes, that's completely normal.
75
Just smile, switch back to English, and keep going.
76
Your brain is like a muscle.
77
The more you use it this way, the stronger and quicker it gets.
78
Thanks so much, Peter.
79
These tips are so simple yet powerful.
80
Listeners, pick just one to try today.
81
Even naming five things around you in English right now counts.
82
Huge thanks for listening.
83
If this resonated with you, drop a quick comment below.
84
Which exercise are you starting with?
85
Peter and I read every single one.
86
See you in the next episode.
87
Keep practicing.
88
You've got this.
89
Bye for now.

Was du in dieser Lektion übst

  • to rewire – umprogrammieren (z.
