1
Hello everyone and welcome to my channel.
2
Today I want to tell you the story of how I learned English fluently
3
and also give you a few tips so that you can start your English learning process.
4
And also I want to help you with this video to practice your English skills.
5
So remember to write down the vocabulary you don't understand.
6
You can also write in the translator if you don't understand a word or a phrase.
7
Remember that the ideal percentage is that you understand between 65% and 70%.
8
So maybe you've heard this story many times because I always talk about it in my Instagram, but maybe you don't know me or you want to know how I learned to speak English fluently.
9
So basically, when I was approximately 14 years old, I was studying at a regular institute here in my city.
10
I live in Funes, which is a small city near Rosario, which is like the bigger city.
11
We started with a typical book, you know, grammar, vocabulary lists, pronunciation.
12
And of course, I had a good time there because I had my group of friends and I really enjoyed learning English.
13
But at the same time, I realized that to practice our speaking skills, we had to take turns
14
and we only practiced like once a week or twice a week
15
and we only had like a few minutes each to practice maybe to give our opinion on a certain topic
16
or just to have like small talk at that point I had like an intermediate level of English but my dream,
17
what I wanted, what I desperately wanted was to speak English with native people.
18
Like I wanted to have a conversation with someone.
19
I wanted to be able to have a conversation 100% in English without a problem.
20
So at that moment, I made a decision with my mother who was a big part of my English learning process
21
because she made a lot of decisions with me and we decided
22
that I was going to start studying online with native teachers
23
just to have like conversations with native teachers to unlock my speaking practice
24
and to give you a spoiler a year later I was
25
able to speak English fluently like I am doing right now
26
but of course it wasn't only the classes I also consumed a lot of content like on YouTube,
27
movies, series, content on social media.
28
I followed a lot of influencers from the US to practice my English.
29
I was literally obsessed with learning English.
30
It was the only thing that I had in mind.
31
When I was 15 years old, I traveled to New York to make like an exchange year, an exchange month because I only went one month.
32
and at that point I could speak English fluently
33
and of course the first interactions
34
that I had with people weren't a hundred percent comfortable
35
because one thing is practicing your English with native people online
36
and another thing is practicing in person like with real people
37
in front of you the first interactions were a little bit difficult
38
because maybe they didn't understand me or I didn't understand them
39
and it was uncomfortable but maybe at the second week I started like really speaking English and understanding English like native.
40
It was like
41
my mind changed completely and also one thing that I realized is
42
that I traveled with a group of people my age like
43
maybe they were older they were like 18 19 even 20
44
and i realized that the difference between me and them was
45
that i practiced having conversations with native people
46
and they only studied with grammar books at their regular institute
47
and some have taken the b2 first exam
48
which is a very very important exam and even then they didn't have a good level of English.
49
So that's when I realized that having conversations with native people changes your mindset.
50
I also discovered that
51
when you have an intermediate level of English what you need to do is to practice your speaking skills.
52
You need to unlock your speaking.
53
You need to expose yourself to the the language
54
and to native people because maybe
55
when you have a beginner level of english you need to study of course
56
because you need to have more knowledge you need to have things to use
57
when you speak you need words you need structures and everything but
58
when you have an intermediate level of english you already have
59
the knowledge you just have to apply it you have to use it and basically mixing immersion,
60
which is like being constantly consuming content in english on social media for example
61
and having conversations with native people online it's like the medicine
62
so basically practicing your immersion like being constantly on social media
63
and consuming videos in English or in YouTube or whatever it is
64
and also having conversations with the native people online is perfect.
65
Right now I try to use English every day
66
because I am NOT a native English speaker
67
so I have to use it because
68
if I don't use it I will forget how to use the language
69
so I try to make these videos to speak every day
70
and I also speak to native teachers because
71
if you don't know I have my own English school online school
72
and I have native teachers who teach the classes
73
so basically I have to be in contact with them every day every second every minute
74
because we are a team and we work together in my English program
75
and also that's very good because I have to use English every day.
76
So remember, if you have an intermediate level of English, you need to use it, you need to expose yourself.
77
And if you have an advanced level of English, you need to use it every day, not to forget it.
78
I hope you like this video and remember to follow me on my Instagram
79
if you want more information about my program to unlock your speaking.
80
And also if you have any questions
81
about this video or
82
if you have more ideas to talk about in next videos leave it in the comments
83
and I will read and answer all of them.
84
Bye bye!
