1
this is the samsung z fold 8 it has a new screen size upgraded cameras fun customization
2
and hidden features along with a bunch of other fun tips
3
and tricks like out of the box there are four ways you can use a screen
4
so the first is the cover screen there's portrait mode
5
which is great for scrolling landscape for quickly watching videos then
6
when you unfold it there's a bigger landscape screen for watching things like movies
7
and an even bigger portrait screen for reading sweet but But by default, you'll notice that if you close the main screen,
8
the phone actually locks itself, which is kind of annoying.
9
But if you go into settings, then display and scroll all the way down, you'll find something called continue apps on cover screen.
10
Set that to always because now no matter what you're doing on the main screen, when you close it, it'll automatically carry on.
11
And when you open it back up again, so much better.
12
Okay, now this is a really hidden trick you should try.
13
And it is so cool.
14
To do it, you'll need a wallpaper like this, where it's got two photos basically merged into one.
15
Of course, it can be any two images you want, so long as they're merged like this.
16
Then you tap the three dots, set as wallpaper, and choose lock and home screen.
17
Now, while you're in the landscape mode, you're going to adjust the image to the bottom landscape wallpaper.
18
Then rotate the phone and adjust the image so the portrait wallpaper is in the portrait rotation.
19
Literally just like this, then press save, and now whenever you rotate from landscape to portrait bam you have a double wallpaper
20
if you're wondering where you can get a bunch of double wallpapers like this for free
21
then check out my website because i got you covered link in the description okay but
22
that cool wallpaper trick is not even as hidden as these next few tricks
23
now check out how cool this is if you open the camera
24
and whip a document in front of it this scan button shows up
25
and if you hit it not only will it snap a photo of that document but it reframes it, removes any fingers or stains,
26
and if you tap these three dots, you can instantly save it as a PDF.
27
This has literally got to be the easiest way you could possibly scan a document.
28
Wow.
29
Then, not many people know this, but the Fold8 actually has a fingerprint sensor under this button.
30
And once you've added yours, you can actually set it up to do this sick effect.
31
So, to get yours to do this, open up settings and go inside
32
Modes and Routines then tap routines and hit the plus icon.
33
Select this first option and if you scroll all the way down you'll see unlock with fingerprint.
34
Select whichever fingerprint you want to unlock with
35
and under this section you're going to go to effects and choose this edge lighting effect.
36
Pretty simple.
37
Now all you do is customize that effect.
38
I like mine colorful and bold.
39
Then you're going to hit done save this routine
40
and bam you've got a sick effect every time you unlock using your fingerprint.
41
That just looks so cool.
42
Okay there's another hidden trick you should try out and this one is inside the gallery.
43
All you do is find a picture, swipe up on it and right over here you'll see this live effect button
44
which turns your photo into a 3D photo using this really cool depth effect.
45
I don't know why
46
Samsung has made this so hidden because it's really cool but this by far has got to be the coolest hidden trick.
47
Inside quick settings if you turn on wireless power share
48
Then open the Fold like this and place it down.
49
If you put a pair of buds or something to charge on the side of it like this,
50
you can actually unlock the cover screen and keep using your phone.
51
So if you wanted to keep watching videos or, I don't know, subscribe to your favorite YouTuber while using the Fold 8 as a charging pad,
52
now you can. On to gestures.
53
Now there's a bunch you can do on this screen.
54
Like this two -finger swipe, which actually split screens the app in the direction you swipe.
55
So if you wanted to, you can swipe left, swipe right, or even swipe up to instantly split screen the app.
56
If yours isn't working, then just make sure you head into settings under advanced features, multi -window, and toggle on swipe for split screen.
57
That's it.
58
And while you're there, head into motion and gestures, and also turn on palm touch to turn off screen.
59
Same with mute incoming calls and alarms, because now you can cover the entire screen with just your hand to quickly turn it off.
60
Or if you ever get a call and don't want to answer it, you can do the same gesture and it'll mute the call.
61
Nice.
62
There's also the tap, hold, and drag gesture to open apps into split screen directly from the taskbar.
63
And you can place the apps anywhere on the screen, which is pretty handy.
64
And you see this brand new handle here?
65
Well, you'll actually find this at the top of every app now.
66
And if you grab it, then drag it, you can quickly rearrange your split screens, as you can see, in a couple of different combinations.
67
Or if you've got a single app open, you can use the handle to quickly drag it into a pop -up window
68
or once again a split screen cool there's even more multitasking tricks you can do
69
but i'll show you those a bit later
70
because first i gotta show you how to do this all right
71
so to customize your unlock animation you'll need to get the samsung good luck app from the play store
72
and once you open it up head into lock star and tap this little button at the bottom, then.
73
unlock animation.
74
Now just turn this on and you can pick from one of these really cool animation styles like spread for example.
75
You can customize its shape, its color and animation time and the next time you unlock your fold 8, so smooth.
76
There's a bunch of other unlock animations too like this cool glitch effect so definitely give this a try.
77
But we're not done with good luck yet because you can do this too and here's how.
78
All you do back inside good luck is tap the home upper module once in here open up home screen
79
and make sure to turn this on as well as diy home screen
80
and that is literally it now just tap
81
and hold on your home screen click this diy button
82
and you can customize the heck out of your app icons
83
you can move them to anywhere on the screen you can resize them
84
and even rotate them and so i just placed my apps like this
85
and curves at the edge of the screen
86
because it just makes opening them so much easier using just my thumbs love this
87
and then for the cherry on top inside the lock screen settings
88
if you select the clock i'm pretty sure you know you can choose from different fonts
89
but what you might not have known is the first two fonts
90
now automatically resize around the subject in your wallpaper even if your subject is just a mountain
91
and if you combine those three changes your fold eight should come out looking way more snazzy cool
92
but wait until you see what you can do with the gallery
93
now in the gallery there are some insane new features starting with photos where
94
if you tap on this little star icon to the right hand side you'll see this text icon and
95
if you tap it it opens this text box
96
now you just type in anything like i don't know add suits to everyone
97
and boom the fold 8 will literally edit that pic
98
and add in just about anything you want like magic that does a pretty good job.
99
And you can even carry on editing that picture to really push it to the limits.
100
Okay but then with videos you'll notice the exact same button there too but it'll instead show you two different options.
101
Audio eraser and video tracking.
102
With video tracking you just select a person from the video then you can choose a different aspect ratio if you want.
103
I just went with 9 by 16.
104
You click on follow
105
and in a couple of seconds the Fold 8 literally tracks the person throughout the entire video wherever they go
106
and with audio eraser let's say you're busy taking a video
107
but there's a bunch of noise in the background well using this you can remove
108
that noise including nature sounds even wind noises
109
and then boost your own voice so that you sound much clearer i mean
110
that is pretty useful wow but what you can do with the main camera is even more useful.
111
So this bad boy has a 50 megapixel wide
112
and 50 megapixel ultra wide camera and because of that it can do some pretty wild stuff.
113
Like inside video mode if you press this little button along with the third option you'll turn on horizontal lock.
114
This literally keeps the horizon locked in your video no matter how much you twist and rotate your phone.
115
And as you can see compared to a video with no stabilization
116
i mean it does a ridiculously good job wow okay
117
then another cool little camera update is inside the dual camera mode it's this little icon right over here
118
and it records with both your front
119
and back camera to get this really cool horizontal split
120
but now there's a new vertical split option
121
and in case you didn't know there's a pop -up option too
122
and you can actually move the window around to anywhere on the screen really lefty
123
but probably the best feature everyone has got to know about is this button
124
which turns the cover screen into a viewfinder so if you're out
125
and about somewhere
126
and want to take a nice selfie you can use the main 50 megapixel camera sensor
127
and get a way better quality picture than using
128
that default selfie camera on the cover screen ew
129
and speaking of going out if you're like me
130
and like to travel quite often then here's a nifty tip inside the fold 8 settings under connections
131
and sim manager you'll notice the Fold8 can actually take an eSIM, but not just any eSIM, because if you install the Saley app,
132
it'll actually install its own eSIM.
133
It's that simple.
134
But the crazy cool part is you can actually choose to get an eSIM for any country.
135
There's this massive list to choose from, and it is like the cheapest way to get data for that country.
136
Or what's really cool is you could even get a global eSIM that works anywhere in the world.
137
It's literally just one eSIM that multitasks and connects you to any country.
138
There's also an eSIM for cruises too, which basically works in the middle of the freaking ocean.
139
Nifty.
140
And besides for data, they even have eSIMs for phone numbers for a bunch of different countries too.
141
I mean, I have tried finding something cheaper for when I go traveling, but honestly, Salee's deals are the best.
142
And you can get Salee for 15 % cheaper
143
if you scan this QR code or use code HAILS at the end of your checkout.
144
Okay, now there are a ton of ways you can multitask with this beast.
145
And before you do anything, go into settings, then advanced features, and inside labs, make sure you turn on multi -window for all apps.
146
This makes all your apps that don't normally work in split screen magically start working.
147
I don't know why this isn't on by default, but at least now you know.
148
Okay, once that's on, open a few apps using the tricks I showed you earlier.
149
You can do three apps, but it does get a little bit cramped, unless you tap
150
and drag on one of these lines to just before the
151
edge of the screen to turn on the 9 to 10 split screen mode
152
which essentially keeps the three -way split but just gives you a lot more screen space.
153
I really like this trick.
154
You can also quickly tap on these dots on the lines to quickly switch your split screen layout around
155
which is kind of hidden and
156
when you are ready to exit your split screens you can either close all the apps in your recents
157
or you can just swipe the lines to the edge of the screen to separate everything back to normal cool
158
so typing on this main screen can be kind of hard by default
159
so what i'd recommend you guys do is
160
if you tap on the settings icon scroll down
161
and look for size and transparency
162
and now here just make it slightly smaller now this might not seem like it's a big difference
163
but trust me it actually makes typing way easier okay next open up good luck again
164
and this time go into keys cafe then hit the keyboard tap right over here then gestures
165
and make sure you turn on used two finger gesture.
166
Now you're just gonna choose an option for each gesture.
167
So like for my setup, up was opening emoji mode, down was select all, left was copy and right was paste.
168
Now check this out.
169
If I have the keyboard open anywhere in my phone and swipe up, it opens the emojis.
170
If I swipe down, it selects all, swipe left, copies everything and I can go to another app like WhatsApp,
171
swipe right on the keyboard and it'll paste but also
172
if you like emojis back inside keys cafe and make
173
when you select the keyboard and tap on edit you'll see this little emoji icon
174
and right over here you can add your favorite emojis to your actual keyboard this is
175
so freaking cool and you can add them to any way you want on your keyboard
176
and now anytime you're busy typing boom your favorite emojis are directly in your main keyboard i mean come on
177
that is so cool but i got another three tricks i think you guys will like even more.
178
Okay so to take screenshots on this phone all you do is swipe your palm over the screen like this.
179
But if you open settings again then head back to advanced features
180
and under screenshots and screen recordings you can turn on hide status and navigation bar.
181
Now anytime you take a screenshot it'll remove both the notification and taskbar which is much better.
182
Then for the next trick if you go into device care scroll down
183
and look out for auto optimization then in here tap on auto restart
184
and make sure you toggle on this first option and
185
if you turn that on your samsung will literally never slow down
186
because it'll automatically restart itself before it does i mean
187
that is super nifty but what is even better is back inside device care
188
if you tap these three dots
189
and go to settings you'll see this brand new option block apps with excessive ads
190
and make sure you turn on intelligent blocking and
191
when it's on annoying apps that consistently spam you like uber eats will stop doing that neat
192
but one of my favorite tricks you can do on this bad boy is customize the quick settings panel
193
and to do this all you gotta do is check out this video right over here
