Shadowing-Übung: We Built the Product Apple Gave Up On... - Englisch Sprechen Lernen mit Video

Lektion wird erstellt...
1
For the past two months, I have been building a desk.
2
To understand what it does, we need to go back on an Apple event 9 years ago.
3
In 2017, I had just started college when Apple showed its wireless charging pad, AirPower.
4
The best part was simple.
5
Put your phone on it, and it would charge.
6
This idea hit me right away.
7
If you have used a round wireless charger, you know the phone had to be put right in the center.
8
Move it a little, and it will not charge.
9
Sometimes, I put my phone on the charger and went to sleep.
10
Then I woke up for class and found it was still at 5 % Air power would not have this problem
11
But Apple said it would not go on sale until the next year
12
So I waited and waited and waited
13
and waited until the 9th next year I already had a job
14
and it was still not out Then I searched a line and guess what?
15
Apple had already cancelled it in 2019 To make up for
16
those wasted 9 years I decided to build my own air power
17
And mine had to be even better Apple's idea was to charge your phone anywhere on the pad
18
so I wanted to build an air power the size of
19
a desk you would only need to put your phone on a desk
20
and it would charge you could even use it as a
21
normal work desk the idea behind air power is easy to
22
understand this is a wireless charging coil put your phone above it
23
and it will charge with enough coils to cover the whole pad your phone can charge anywhere on it
24
but covering your whole desk we need 600 charging coils
25
that would be too expensive I mean it would be very
26
bad for the environment actually there's a smarter way to solve
27
this instead of using hundreds of coils why not let one
28
coil travel across the whole desk there is a type of wireless charger
29
that can track your phone you put your phone on a pad
30
and the coil moves under it to charge it we only needed to bring this idea to a desk
31
so i built a simple round prototype a camera hands above it
32
when someone puts a phone on a desk the camera sends its position to the motors the motors
33
that move the coil under the phone and charge it.
34
It sounds like a perfect plan.
35
Let's see how well it works.
36
It works perfectly, except for three very serious problems.
37
First, the motors are too slow, Though, it will be still faster than I make videos.
38
Second, there are too many moving wires inside the desk.
39
They look messy and can get caught on other parts.
40
The biggest problem is that the desk is just too boring.
41
So I decided to spin big and give it a feature.
42
One month later, the new desk was ready.
43
First, I replaced the motors so the coil can move faster.
44
To manage the moving wires, I made this, a double -ended cable reel.
45
It connects to the motor.
46
When the motor moves out, it pulls the cable from the reel.
47
When the motor moves back, the reel quietly returns under the desk.
48
The cable system took me a whole week to build.
49
I was so happy when it finally worked.
50
Then I found out something called a linear slide exist.
51
It has no moving wires and is much faster.
52
Anyway, we managed the wires perfectly, as long as you do not look under the desk.
53
So how do we make the desk less boring?
54
Let's put a phone on it.
55
I turn the desk into a transparent screen.
56
Whenever you place your phone on the desk, our little fairy cat of light and power moves under it.
57
It then summons the mysterious electric power from the cyber world to charge your phone.
58
Once one device is full, the desk looks for the next device it can charge and start charging it.
59
When there is nothing left, the coil returns under the keyboard i also put a receiver coil under the keyboard
60
so we can charge wirelessly too some of you may ask
61
but hey your desk only had one coil can it charge
62
three devices at once like air power i don't know can
63
you use one straw to drink from three cups of course
64
when the desk finds several devices the coil quickly moves between them
65
if the coil moves faster than the devices can notice then
66
from our view it's charging all three at once i just made all
67
that up i also put two fixed coils in the corner.
68
You can charge extra devices there.
69
There is also a Mac Mini inside the desk.
70
You can connect a monitor and use it as a computer.
71
Besides charging animation and normal information, the screen has three special features.
72
At the start of each day, you can set a few tasks.
73
Every time you finish the task, a new dot lights up.
74
You will see what these dots do at the end of the video.
75
For the second feature, I added standing desk legs.
76
I also changed their control system.
77
If the camera sees that you have been sitting for an hour and the desk is still down, the whole desk lights up.
78
Then the charging cat comes out and reminds you to move.
79
A raise button also appears on the desk.
80
Tap it and the desk rises to my safe height.
81
Another health feature moves my cup in front of me every hour.
82
It reminds me to drink more water.
83
To make this work, I added an electromagnet under the coil.
84
Finally, when your phone is charging, a focus mode button appears.
85
Press it and the desk lights up.
86
A 25 -minute timer appears under your phone.
87
It reminds you to focus for 25 minutes.
88
If you pick up your phone before the timer ends the desk will refuse to charge it when you put it back.
89
I added this because I want to stay focused while I work and stop checking my phone all the time.
90
Finally, after 9 years, I have my own AirPower Pro Max Ultra Plus.
91
It can charge your devices.
92
It can remind you what you need to do today.
93
It cares about your health.
94
It can help you use your phone less.
95
And most importantly, whenever you finish the day of work, it says...
96
Okay everyone, that's all for this video, thank you for watching, see you next time.
