Shadowing-Übung: You’ll Miss This Version of Your Life - Englisch Sprechen Lernen mit Video

Lektion wird erstellt...
1
I think one of the weirdest feelings is realizing
2
that a part of your life can matter way more than you thought it did while you were in it.
3
Because in the moment, it's never that deep.
4
It's just a normal day.
5
You're tired.
6
You're busy.
7
You're thinking about what to do next.
8
You're trying to get through work or school or whatever particular thing is stressing you out that week.
9
And the whole time, life is kind of just happening in the background.
10
And that's the part that really gets me.
11
I'll think about this sometimes while driving through roads I've driven through my whole life, walking into my house after a busy day, or overhearing members of my family talking in the other room.
12
None of that feels special while it's happening.
13
It kind of just feels like a setting.
14
It kind of just feels like the background of life.
15
But then, I think about things that don't even feel the same as they used to.
16
Not in a dramatic way, just slightly slightly.
17
Like you go back to something that's familiar and it's technically still there, but it feels different.
18
And to be honest, that kind of scares me
19
because it makes me wonder what I'm overlooking right now in this current moment.
20
What am I treating as normal that I am going to miss one day?
21
What voices am I so used to hearing that I don't even stop to appreciate them?
22
What What version of my family, my friends, my house, my town,
23
myself am I standing inside of right now without realizing it's not going to stay like this forever? And truthfully,
24
that's the uncomfortable part because I have spent so much time in my life trying to get to the next thing.
25
I graduate.
26
Now I need the job.
27
I get through one week and now I'm thinking about the next week.
28
I'm working all day.
29
I'm training.
30
I'm trying to build something, trying to become something, trying to make life look more like the version I have in my head.
31
And I don't think that's wrong.
32
I don't want to sit here and pretend that ambition is the problem.
33
It's not.
34
But I do think there's a point where chasing the next
35
version of life can make the current one feel almost like it doesn't count.
36
And that's a dangerous way to live because this part does count.
37
This whole in-between part, it matters so much.
38
The part where things are not fully figured out yet, the part where I'm still young, but already watching time move faster than it used to.
39
I think that's why things like nostalgia hit so hard, not because the past was better, but because sometimes the past feels familiar in a way that current life just doesn't feel anymore.
40
It had people who were younger.
41
It had routines that didn't seem as important.
42
It had places that felt important because nothing had changed enough yet to prove they weren't.
43
And eventually, time does what time does.
44
It keeps moving.
45
It takes the same life you used to complain about and turn it into something you can never, ever touch again.
46
And that's such a cruel thing.
47
A normal day can become something you would pay anything to feel just one more time.
48
Not because it was perfect.
49
It probably wasn't.
50
But because it was real.
51
It was your life.
52
because everybody was there in the way they were still there.
53
Because life just had that exact sound to it that you remember, that exact feeling.
54
And you didn't know it was temporary in that moment.
55
Nobody knows.
56
And that's the problem.
57
That's the thing that nobody tells us.
58
There's no warning before a season in your life ends.
59
There's no message that pops up and says, pay attention, this is the last time you're ever going to feel this way.
60
It just changes.
61
One day, something that used to feel effortless now takes planning.
62
Someone you used to see all the time turns into someone you catch up with.
63
A house that used to feel loud starts to feel quieter.
64
A place that used to feel like home still exists, but it doesn't hold the same life inside it anymore.
65
And by the time you notice, it's already happened.
66
The moment's already passed you by.
67
And I keep coming back to that thought.
68
Life doesn't always disappear all at once.
69
It just slowly stops feeling the same.
70
And I don't want to keep missing things just because they look ordinary right now in the present moment.
71
I don't want to look back at this version of myself and think that I treated it just like a waiting room, because it isn't.
72
This is life too.
73
The long days, the random conversations, the annoying little routines, the simple noises throughout your house that you might take for granted.
74
The drives, the people you assume right now that you'll always have the opportunity to call.
75
The version of me that's still figuring things out and taking more for granted than I realize.
76
All of it counts, even if it doesn't look impressive yet, even if it's not the final version.
77
Maybe especially because it's not the final version.
78
I think there's something beautiful about a life before it becomes polished, before it makes sense before everyone goes off their own way,
79
before everything changes so much that you can only visit it in your head.
80
So yeah, I still want more.
81
I still want to build.
82
I still want a future, but I don't want to be so obsessed with getting there that I disrespect what's already here.
83
Because one day this might be the thing that I miss, in all honesty, this whole imperfect version of life.
84
And maybe that's the part people don't realize until later, until it's too late.
85
The ordinary days were actually empty.
86
They were just still close enough to touch.
