1
Hey, everybody.
2
Welcome to another episode of this Easy English Podcast,
3
where you will be learning English through comprehensible input.
4
Let's get started.
5
In today's video, we will be playing Would You Rather.
6
Yeah.
7
And Would You Rather is a very famous, famous game.
8
And it's a game that I remember playing a lot and really enjoying when I was a child.
9
And I still enjoy it today.
10
If you don't know how to play Would You Rather, the rules are very simple.
11
So one person will basically ask the question, Would You Rather?
12
And then they'll give you two different options to choose from.
13
And then the other person has to decide which one they would pick.
14
So let's get started.
15
I have chosen two different questions for you, and you've chosen two different questions for me, right?
16
Yes.
17
Okay.
18
Should I start?
19
Sure.
20
Yeah.
21
Okay.
22
I will start first.
23
I'm going to ask you my first question.
24
Okay.
25
My first would you rather question is pretty simple.
26
Would you rather
27
have the ability to talk to animals
28
or would you rather be able to fluently speak every single
29
language in the world oh that's tricky okay yeah i think i'll choose the animal one only because
30
it'd be interesting to see the mind of an animal and like what they think and
31
just to know their thoughts would be interesting you know
32
and like to see exactly what each animal is thinking
33
and i'm sure they all think differently in their own ways yeah that's very true
34
because when you're talking to a person obviously it's helpful to be able to speak their language But like,
35
their thoughts are still going to be the regular thoughts that you encounter with people, right?
36
But if you can speak to an animal, then you know more about animals than pretty much anybody has ever known about animals, ever.
37
Plus, another thing is, I feel like with animals, if you can't talk to them, you're never going to be able to really communicate with them.
38
While with a person, if you don't speak their language, you can still find a way to communicate with them.
39
Exactly, yeah right yeah like you can use your phone you
40
can translate from language to language on your phone especially with
41
technology nowadays um i think there's also like right meta glasses
42
where you can um translate what people are saying right yeah like
43
when you wear the glasses i i don't know how good it is
44
but i know that it can be like
45
when somebody's talking to you it'll translate into your ears what they're saying in your own language
46
so yeah as technology gets better it does become easier to communicate with people.
47
But I'm curious what you guys think about this question, because obviously if you're watching this video, you're probably learning English and you probably think it would be really nice
48
if I could just immediately become fluent in English and in every other language.
49
So let us know down in the comments, which option you would choose between these two all right do
50
you have a would you rather question for me yes let me pull it up real quick
51
because okay um this one is little like you think about it
52
and you're like ah you know it's just a question
53
that you're just like oh gives you like bad like thoughts okay okay
54
so it's would you rather get a paper cut every time you turn a page
55
or bite your tongue every time you eat.
56
Oh yeah.
57
That one definitely does sound horrible.
58
Yeah.
59
In the moment it's like, ah, you know, like it's really bad.
60
And you're just like a little bit mad about it happening, but yeah.
61
Yeah.
62
If you guys don't know what a paper cut is, a paper cut is like when you are turning a page of a book or something like that.
63
And the paper kind of like cuts your finger and people say
64
that it hurts really really bad and then the other one is
65
that I bite my tongue every time you eat every time I eat something well
66
that one this is actually easier okay than you might think at least for me okay
67
because one of them is very easily avoidable like I just can stop reading books.
68
And if I stop reading books, I'll never get a paper cut.
69
But you can't stop eating food.
70
It's necessary to eat food.
71
So I don't want to bite my tongue every time I eat food.
72
You are right.
73
But also like if you're trying to sign something like important documents, like signing a house or whatever, you're going to have to turn pages.
74
um so there are some things you can't really avoid I feel like with turning pages
75
because there are like there's definitely going to be moments where you need to turn a page yeah
76
but I feel like I could at least get somebody else to turn the page for me like
77
if I had to sign something on a piece of paper I could just give it to you
78
and I could ask you to turn to the page for me
79
but I can't have somebody eat food for me
80
so I'm still gonna I'm still gonna say
81
that I would rather get a paper cut every time i turn a page
82
because i just think it's more easily avoidable
83
and i can just avoid turning pages for the rest of
84
my life yeah yeah plus you can read books on your phone
85
or have like kindle is
86
that what it's called right the device where you just it's
87
just only for reading yeah for sure yeah you definitely can just replace books with your phone
88
or with your computer and these days you can do
89
so much reading online
90
that i don't think it's a super big deal all right my next question for you is another one
91
that is a little bit hard to think about the last
92
one you uh asked was kind of um uh just two really bad scenarios
93
but this one I would say is a little more disturbing.
94
It's a little more like creepy to kind of think about.
95
So here goes it.
96
Would you rather have teeth for hair?
97
So like instead of hair, you have just a bunch of teeth on your head.
98
Or would you rather have instead of your teeth, you have hair instead?
99
that so basically would you rather have teeth for hair
100
or hair for teeth okay that's weird
101
that is really weird yeah about that'd be
102
so freaky to have hair as your teeth
103
because how would you eat that's true like I feel like
104
you'd get it probably smell you need to wash it yeah Yeah.
105
I think your only way of eating if you had hair for teeth would be like how a baby eats.
106
So you could only eat like really soft food because you wouldn't be able to chew your food.
107
Okay.
108
But also probably when you're eating food, you would be like tasting the hair in your mouth the entire time, which would be kind of nasty.
109
Right.
110
I think.
111
Yeah, that would be nasty.
112
It'd be like eating hair.
113
Yeah.
114
So which one would you choose?
115
if you had to choose one i feel like with the
116
teeth on your head you can kind of get more protection
117
like more protection from like a weapon like a weapon or
118
if you fall on your you know fall backward
119
or something that's true yeah i mean
120
if you were like riding on a bike you probably wouldn't need to wear a helmet on your head
121
because you would have like a whole helmet of teeth yeah
122
but I wonder how strong it would be you know a teeth are pretty strong yeah
123
so it'd probably be pretty strong
124
so I guess there is sort of a positive side to it maybe
125
but also you can wear wigs wigs are a thing
126
so you can just oh have a wig cover it up
127
yeah you could put a wig just over all of the teeth
128
so I think I'm gonna go with the teeth one yeah plus an added benefit is
129
that you could make a lot of money from the tooth fairy
130
when the tooth fairy comes you would have a ton of teeth
131
and you would get a lot of money from the tooth fairy
132
i'm curious in your guys's country where you guys are from
133
is the tooth fairy a thing in the united states it's like this thing
134
that we tell little kids where we say a tooth fairy is going to come
135
and basically give them money whenever they lose a tooth so
136
if they lose one of their their baby teeth the tooth fairy will come
137
and give them money for
138
that tooth all right allison is going to be joining us for the last part of this podcast
139
but let us know down in the comments
140
which option you would choose from that would you rather question all right let's hear the final
141
question that you have for me would you rather give up traveling or celebrating holidays
142
um traveling completely
143
so i can't travel even just like to another state in the u .s no traveling at all yes
144
or all holidays i think i'd have to give up holidays
145
because i feel like holidays are fun but you don't necessarily need them
146
and i would say one of the best things about holidays is the fact
147
that you're able to spend time with friends and family but you can do that on any regular day Um,
148
but traveling, if you don't travel at all throughout your life, then I feel like you're definitely missing out on something, you know, and I'm somebody who likes to go new places and explore new places,
149
not just in other countries in the world, but also just here in the United States.
150
Um, so I would definitely really miss that if I wasn't able to do that.
151
Yeah.
152
I mean, giving up Christmas would definitely be difficult because I love Christmas, but I think I would have to let it go
153
but let us know down in the comments what option you would choose from
154
that would you rather question anyways i hope you guys enjoyed this easy english podcast
