and in today's video I'm going to give you guys a sample answer to a very popular IO speaking question.

Describe a city where you live.

It's a super popular topic in part 1 and part 2 of the IO speaking test.

But rather than answering like a test, I'm going to just describe my city,

Saigon or Ho Chi Minh City and hopefully you guys can pick up some useful vocabulary or grammatical structures, okay?

Without further ado, let's get started.

So, I live in Saigon.

It's a vibrant metropolis located in the southern part of Vietnam.

I was born and raised here and it's been my home for my entire life, except for a few years when I studied abroad in Singapore.

You know, there are so many things that I love about Saigon.

One of the highlights is the diverse cuisine, from mouth-watering street food to exquisite high-end restaurants.

Living in a bustling city like Saigon is incredibly convenient.

You have everything you need right at your doorstep.

But what makes the city truly special is the warmth and hospitality of its people.

The locals here are incredibly friendly and always willing to help out if you ever need anything.

But of course, like any city, Saigon has its own challenges.

The air pollution can be quite severe and the traffic can be pretty chaotic.

Navigating through the city during rush hour can be pretty stressful.

On top of that, the summer heat can be almost unbearable, making it difficult to stay cool.

Over the years, Saigon has undergone significant changes.

New residential areas are sprouting up all over the city, leading to increased crowding.

With this development, the cost of living has also risen, making it more expensive to live here than it used to be.

Speaking of my neighborhood, it's incredibly diverse with people of all ages, from young families to elderly residents.

It's a lively and vibrant community that I cherish, and I frequently see and interact with my neighbors.

It's common to have friendly chats or lend a helping hand, which fosters a strong sense of community.

These daily interactions make living here truly enjoyable for me.

The friendliness of Saigon's residents is something that I deeply appreciate.

The people here are not only kind and helpful, but also very open-minded.

The city is also quite accommodating for both children and the elderly, with numerous parks and community centers where they can relax and socialize.
