Howdy. How you doing? Are you having a good day?  All right. Are you ready to practice a little bit of English? Let's do some English speaking  practice. Well, a little bit of listening practice. Feel free to practice your speaking  as well. All right, let's jump into this text for today. Are you ready? Here we go. Today,  I want to talk to you about I want to talk to you. I can say I want to talk to you about I  want to talk to you about I want to talk to you to you. I want to talk to you about something  that can completely change how we approach our day. It can completely change how we approach our  day. That's the American pronunciation. Our day.
2
Mastering a powerful morning routine.
3
That is what I want to talk to you about.  Mastering a powerful morning routine.
4
Let me be honest. Let me be honest. I used to be  the champion of hitting snooze. You know when you hit snooze on your alarm clock and you say, "Five  more minutes. Just give me five more minutes." I used to used to be I used to be the champion,  the king of hitting snooze on my alarm clock.
5
I would stay in bed until the very last second. I  would stay in bed until the very last second. rush out the door with my hair half brushed and feel  completely out of control. Feel completely out of control. By the time I reached work, by the time  I reached work, I felt completely out of control.
6
I vividly vividly vividly remember one  morning When everything went wrong, wrong. Everything went wrong. I spilled my  coffee. Couldn't find my keys. Where are my keys? I can't find my keys. And I got stuck in  traffic. Got got stuck in traffic. [snorts] By the time I sat down at my desk, By the time I  sat down at my desk, I was already exhausted.
7
Exhausted. Exhausted. Extremely tired. I was  already extremely tired. I was already exhausted and overwhelmed. Overwhelmed. Overwhelmed.  Oh, so much going on. overwhelmed. It felt like the day had beaten me. Before it even  started, before the day had even started, I felt beaten already. Does that sound familiar?  Sound familiar? Have you experienced that before?
8
That day I decided something had to change.  Something has got to change. Something had to change. Something must change.  I knew I couldn't keep starting my mornings like that. I just knew I couldn't  keep starting my mornings like that. So, I researched morning routines  and began making small changes.
9
And you know what? And you know what? It worked.  Now I start my mornings feeling calm, focused, and ready for whatever the day throws at me. I am  ready for whatever whatever the day throws at me, whatever the day gives me, whatever happens  during that day, whatever the day throws at me.
10
Today, I'll share a few simple tips and  introduce new vocabulary to help you make small but impactful changes to your routine. Small  changes, but very impactful. It might be small, but it has a big impact. If something  has a big impact, it's impactful.
11
All right. The first tip is to start small. Are  you familiar with the word overhaul? Overhaul.
12
To overhaul something means to completely change  or improve it. I'm going to overhaul this system.
13
I'm going to overhaul my car. [snorts]  I'm going to give it a complete overhaul.
14
I'm going to clean the engine. Whatever. All  right. I didn't completely overhaul my routine overnight. I didn't completely overhaul my routine  overnight. That would be too difficult. Instead, I simply began by setting an alarm 10  minutes earlier. 10 minutes earlier than I usually wake up. I set an alarm for  10 minutes earlier than I usually wake up.
15
I simply began by setting setting my alarm 10  minutes earlier. Earlier. Say it like that.
16
Earlier. There you go. That gave me enough time to  slow down. Did you notice I said to to slow down to slow down rather than feel rushed rather than  feel rushed. It gave me enough time to slow down.
17
So don't try to change everything  at once. Don't try to change to try to try to change everything at once. Just  give yourself a little extra time. Just give yourself a little extra time. Even five or 10  minutes can make a big difference. Another thing that made a huge difference was taking a few  minutes in the morning just to relax and focus.
18
Our next focus word is intentional.  Intentional means it's done with purpose and focus. I would take a few  minutes in the morning to be intentional.
19
You can be intentional. Are you intentional in  the morning? Yes. I take a few moments to be intentional. I would sit quietly, pay attention  to my breathing, [sighs and snorts] and let myself relax for a few minutes. In order to  do that, you must wake up a little earlier, right? All right. I would sit quietly.  Pay attention. And you pay attention to your breathing. Notice your breathing  and let yourself relax for a few minutes.
20
This helped me feel calm and clearheaded. If  you feel if you feel clearheaded, that means you're you're not foggy. I guess the opposite  of clearheaded would mean like foggyheaded.
21
So you're calm and clear. Just a few intentional  moments can change the way your day unfolds. Yeah, your day unfolds. If something unfolds, it  opens up step by step. It's unfolding. Your day also unfolds. You never know what  is going to unfold during your day.
22
Whether it's sitting in silence, reading something  inspiring, or stretching, these small purposeful move moments help set a positive tone for the day.  Small purposeful moments, moments that are done on purpose, purposeful moments. Those purposeful  moments helped set a positive tone for the day.
23
Once I felt more focused, I started writing down  my top three tasks for the day. What are the three tasks? The three things I must do today. My top  three tasks for the day. By focusing on my top priorities, I was able to better structure  my day. Eat that frog. Right? For example, if I had a video to edit, a meeting  to prepare for, and a blog to post, and a blog post to write, I'd list them  out. You write a blog post, right? Nowadays, you don't really write blog posts. No one's  writing blog posts anymore. We're just making videos. For example, if I had a video to edit, a  meeting to prepare for, and a blog post to write, I'd list them out. One, two, three. I must  do these three. This practice kept me from feeling overwhelmed by too many things at once.  and help me stay focused on what mattered most.
24
Prioritizing helps you manage your time  more effectively and stay productive.
25
Prioritizing helps you manage your time  more effectively and stay productive.
26
Adding movement to your morning is essential.  We're moving on to a new topic here. A topic about movement, exercise, working out your  body, moving your body, adding movement to your morning is essential. Let's practice  the word strenuous. Streuous. Streu. Um, so if something is strenuous, it requires a  lot of effort or energy. If it requires a lot of effort or energy, it is strenuous. When you  add exercise, movement to your morning routine, you don't need to do something strenuous to  feel the benefits. You don't need to stress yourself out and do something strenuous  to feel the benefits. I usually do a quick 10-minute stretch or take a short walk around  the block or dance to music for 10 minutes.
27
Even light movement helps me feel  more awake and ready for the day without overexertion. Overexertion.  You don't need to overexert yourself.
28
Whether it's yoga, walking, or a simple stretch,  moving your body boosts your energy and improves your mood. You just got to move your body  to boost your energy and improve your mood.
29
The last tip is about avoiding  distractions, especially from technology.
30
We all are distracted by technology, right?  It bombards us. Bombards us. Here's a fun word. Bombarded. Bombarded. So if you are  bombarded, you are overwhelmed. You're overwhelmed by something. It is bombarding  you. I am bombarded by things to do. So often repeatedly it keeps coming at you like a bombs  just keep dropping on you. You're bombarded.
31
We often get bombarded by notifications,  messages, and emails. First thing in the morning, I'm bombarded by notifications, messages, and  emails. I have to ignore half of them. I really do. I get so many. All right. It's tempting  to check your phone as soon as you wake up, but doing so can make you feel stressed or  overwhelmed before your day even begins.
32
I'm going to say that again. It's tempting  to check your phone as soon as you wake up, but doing so can make you feel stressed or  overwhelmed before your day even begins. Amen.
33
Don't you all feel that? I made it a habit  to avoid my phone for the first 30 minutes after waking. Can you do that? Ah, you can't do  that, can you? Can you? All right. I've ended a habit to avoid my phone for the first 30 minutes  after waking, but it's okay to use my iPad. No, I can't do that. That's the same thing.  This simple change lets me focus on myself and my morning routine without feeling  bombarded by social media or emails.
34
It's amazing how much more peaceful  my mornings have become. So, there you have it. There you have it. After you  give somebody a presentation or you've you've you um you've given all the information that you're  going to give them, you can say, "So there you have it. That's everything." By making small  changes like these, I completely transformed my mornings and you can too. Oh, let me use my um  my radio voice. Ready? So, there you have it. By making small changes like these, I completely  transformed my mornings, and you can, too. If you're tired of feeling bombarded with stress and  rushed, try adding these tips to your routine.
35
Remember, it's all about small intentional changes  that make a big difference over time. There's no need to overhaul your morning. There's no need to  overhaul your morning. Just make small changes.
36
Even if you just start with one tip, like  setting your alarm earlier, a little earlier, or taking a moment to prioritize your  day, you'll begin to notice a shift in how your mornings feel. That's some good, solid  advice, don't you think so? Boom. Good workout.
37
Way to go. If you are persistent and consistent,  you are bound to succeed. Keep moving forward.
38
Take it one step at a time. And I'll see you  in the next English speaking practice video.
