Sometimes we say this to ourselves in silence.

I understand English.

I watch videos.

I get the meaning.

But when I have to speak, nothing comes out.

My tongue freezes.

If that is you, this video will change how you practice.

First, understand what is happening.

Understanding and speaking are two different muscles.

Watching football every weekend does not make your legs strong.

Only playing does.

You have trained your listening muscle for years.

Your speaking muscle is still sleeping.

That is not a defect.

That is just a training gap, and gaps can be closed.

Step one, shadow one minute a day.

Take a short clip, play one line, pause, and copy it out loud.

Same words, same speed, same music.

You are borrowing a native's mouth until yours wakes up.

Step two, answer the screen.

When a video asks, how are you doing?

Answer out loud.

Pretty good.

A little tired.

When a character says something, react.

No way.

That's crazy.

I love it.

You are turning input into conversation, alone in your room.

Now listen carefully.

This is the most important one.

Step three, lower the bar.

You wait to speak because you want the perfect sentence, but speaking starts ugly.

Short words, slow pace, small mistakes.

That is normal and healthy.

A baby's first steps are ugly too.

Nobody says, this baby walks badly.

Everybody says, look, the baby is walking.

Be the baby.

Walk ugly first.

So here is your plan.

Shadow one minute a day.

Answer your screen out loud.

And let your first sentences be simple.

In three months, the words that today stay locked inside will start walking out on their own.

And one day you will notice, you are speaking without thinking.

That is a beautiful moment.
