5
Do you do some cooking,
6
help your family cook at home?
7
Yes, during holidays or vacations,
8
when I visit my family,
9
I like to help out around the house.
10
This includes helping with cooking a meal or even cooking a meal for my family.
11
I think cooking is fun,
12
and while cooking, I can spend time together with my mom,
13
sister, aunts, or cousins.
14
We can enjoy one another's company and cook delicious food together.
15
Do you think your home is clean and tidy?
16
Currently, yes.
17
I like to have clean spaces at home.
18
While it can be difficult to always keep a home clean and tidy,
19
it is not impossible.
20
However, since I spend most of my time outside of my home,
21
I like knowing that my home is clean and not messy.
22
Not being able to clean often as well as living alone,
23
I think are reasons to keep my space clean.
24
Did you do some house cleaning when you were young?
25
No, when I was young I never had to do house chores.
26
My mom and dad were the ones who cleaned our house majorly.
27
I never needed to wash the dishes,
28
do laundry, vacuum the floors or carpets, or water the houseplants.
29
However, I did have to clean my room and occasionally feed our pets.
30
As I grew older, I would say when I started high school,
31
I started to do more household chores.
32
Do you have breakfast at home every day?
33
Yes, I always have breakfast at home every day.
34
The only exception is when I travel or have an appointment to meet someone for breakfast.
35
In these instances, I do not eat at home and instead grab something or go somewhere to eat.
36
But usually I prefer to eat breakfast at home
37
as I know that breakfast is an important meal for people like myself who spend all day out.
38
A few years ago, when I was working as a high school counselor,
39
I received some positive advice from my boss on how to help support students I would be supervising and assisting.
40
My boss at the time had been working in the position for a few years prior and had been promoted herself,
41
so she was familiar with the tasks that counselors had.
42
During our tri-monthly one-on-one meetings,
43
my boss would go over my work performance with me.
44
My boss would focus on areas for me to improve.
45
For example, creating new events for students to participate in.
46
I felt thankful for receiving open and helpful suggestions.
47
The provided suggestions helped me focus on finding,
48
planning, and implementing fun activities for the students I supported.
49
When should parents encourage their children?
50
Parents should encourage their children when they show that they are able to complete things.
51
It could be they are able to tie their shoes,
52
brush their teeth, ride a bike,
53
study on their own, or even receive praise from their teachers.
54
should encourage and praise their children whenever they achieve something.
55
This builds self-confidence and esteem.
56
Should parents always encourage their children?
57
It depends.
58
Sometimes encouragement is needed to help children grow.
59
However, if children are self-motivated themselves,
60
then it is best to let the children try on their own.
61
Learning is an important part of growing up.
62
All children eventually must learn to do things on their own,
63
and they should feel motivated to try things.
64
This will help in creating a can-do attitude towards studying,
65
playing, and even engaging in society.
66
Do you think negative feedback is more important than positive feedback?
67
Yes, I do.
68
Negative feedback can be a positive influencer in terms of pushing you to try harder next time.
69
While the term negative itself is not viewed as good,
70
negative feedback is feedback.
71
Feedback given to a person from their boss,
72
teacher, or friend can help the person better understand their weaknesses.
73
They can also focus on improving this weakness.
74
Trying to improve creates commitment and increases an individual's personal drive to do better.
75
Why is negative feedback as important as positive feedback at work or in study?
76
Feedback is needed to help improve one's performance.
77
Positive feedback, while considered good,
78
does not make a person feel the need to improve or study harder.
79
The reason being is because positive feedback confirms that the person is working hard or studying well.
80
However, However, negative feedback can help in raising awareness of something that is not good or beneficial for the person.
81
When receiving negative feedback, we shouldn't feel bad.
82
Instead, we should learn from the negative feedback and work harder to improve.
83
Thank you.
