Welcome back to the daily vlog.

Today we're gonna go do some errands around Ho Chi Minh City.

Gonna go get some lunch right now first and then we're gonna go maybe check out some stores.

I want to go buy some things

and then we're gonna go to a really cool clothing store that has a bunch of Vietnamese fashion.

They're like an aggregator.

They have a bunch of different brands in one store.

So we're gonna go check that out today.

Okay this is what we're eating today.

It's a burger spot and I'm looking forward to it.

Pass the inside.

Okay here we got the burger.

Looks really good like in-and-out style burger.

Wow.

I finished at Bax Burger.

It was a really delicious burger.

I've been there before and I really enjoyed what they had there.

They have like in-and-out style burgers and those are some of my favorite.

So I had one of those.

I had a double patty, two patties in the burger.

The only downside I would say is

that they put a lot of lettuce on the burger and they don't give you that many fries.

I wish they gave you more fries but for the price

if you compare it to other burger places it's actually a lot cheaper.

Like for the full combo it was a 185 000 dong

which is like nine canadian dollars which is actually pretty good because i've seen

most other places charge that for just the hamburger so i got a combo came with the burger

some fries and a drink and it was really worth it i would recommend coming here it is in district

two in Ho Chi Minh City.

Okay I'm gonna make my way to the center to district one.

I want to go to Zara so I'm going to take the metro.

The metro will take me right to the center of district one

which is where the mall is that has the Zara inside.

Now as for the weather today it is hot but not that hot.

I think it's It's under 30 degrees today, which is nice because usually it's way over 30 degrees.

And there's a bit of a breeze.

I don't know if you can see my hair waving around.

But once I get to the metro, they'll have AC there on the train and the underground stations.

So that'll be a lot nicer.

Okay, so this is the station I am going to.

It is an above-ground station.

So there's two types of metro stations.

One's below ground and one's above ground.

So this is an above ground one.

It's actually a really big station.

Right now in Saigon there's only one line.

Line 1.

And it goes through four different districts.

District 1, Ben Tan.

District 2 and District 9.

It basically cuts the city from east to west going through the major districts.

So it is really convenient.

I've taken it before.

I've made a short form video on it if you want to see how exactly to take it.

But it is super simple to do

and this time I'm just gonna pay with my credit card that's the easiest way to do it

so this is my closest station number six Taodian.

I'm gonna climb these stairs up I think there's elevators in the center over there

that you can take if you cannot climb stairs

but I'm not gonna cross into the middle there oh

and I think there's actually escalators too in the middle

so maybe you have a lot of stuff with you you don't want to climb upstairs

or you physically can't then you can use the escalator

or the elevator but here we are it's very nice it's very new too

And the view is not too bad from here either.

We can see the tallest tower in Saigon.

Just over there.

It's a nice view.

Okay, here we go.

We are in here now.

Gate 2.

And I'm just going to tap my card.

Over here.

Easy.

Just as easy as that.

So here is the platform.

very quiet it is Monday about 2 p.m

so it's not going to be that busy but everything is very nice and very new

I like the station a lot

and over here we have the map of the metro system

so I said there was only one line you could see it there it's the line one

and I'm I'm going to be going from station 6 to I believe it's station 2 where the malls are.

But you can see here these are all the future lines they have planned.

I'm looking forward to that.

It'll be the best way to travel around Saigon when all these lines are complete.

It'll be like Tokyo or Seoul where the metro is the best way to get around the city.

Because it's a lot faster than taking a car or a bike.

Especially during rush hour.

So there's the other train.

That's going the opposite way I want to go.

My train is coming at 14.01 or 2.01.

It is 1.58 so three minutes and my train will be here.

And there it goes.

Everybody got off.

Some people got on and now there it goes.

Here comes my train.

They gave me a good honk.

Let's get on the train.

Okay we just got off the train.

We're now in an underground station so this is different from the one we got on.

This one is underneath the ground and that makes sense because we're in the center of district 1 right now.

And there's too many buildings on top of us to build an above ground one.

We're at the Opera House exit and we're gonna just go and walk to the mall.

I believe we came from this train because the arrow was pointing that way.

We went up one escalator, came out the gate and now I'm gonna go out like that.

I had to go through a little underground mall that was connected to the metro station but it is nice here.

Today was kind of eventful.

I started off by getting some lunch at around 1.30ish.

I had that really good burger you saw.

Then after that I took the metro to downtown where I went to Zara.

And that's where it started raining.

So I showed you the rain there just when it started.

I was just hiding in that mall.

I didn't really buy anything from Zara because they didn't really have the cologne that I was looking for which is fine.

if I have more time I'll go and smell the colognes and see which one I like.

I went around I went to H&M as well walked around there and then I went to the basement.

So in that basement they have an area called the New Playground

which is like two floors the two bottom floors of the mall

that are dedicated just to Vietnamese fashion

so I bought one item it is for this camera

and they give me a nice bag here

which is really cool nice little bag and it is a body strap

that I can keep this camera on my body instead of having to put it in my bag

and it's a Vietnamese brand so I'm supporting Vietnamese company

which is nice to do so after that it was still raining

but I decided to get a car to a store

that has a bunch of different Vietnamese clothing brands inside of it this is our next stop the clothing store, 11 garmentry.

I had to take a car here because it was raining like crazy but it just dried up now.

I bought a grab car because it was still raining

and I didn't want to take a bike so the car was maybe 25-30 minutes to get there and I got there.

It was nice there's a really big store they had a

lot of brands maybe I'd say around 50 different Vietnamese brands which is really cool to see.

The only place I've seen that before is in like Seoul in Korea they have Musinsa

which is the exact same they have all the Korean brands inside one single store

and you don't have to jump around the city to go find them and it's good for the companies, it's good for the brands and it's good for the people

that want to come here and shop especially tourists that are not here for a very long time.

So I looked around there and I didn't really find anything I like

or let me rephrase I didn't find anything that would fit me very well because the sizing is a little off.

I'm usually an extra large in Canada

but here extra large doesn't really translate the same unless you're shopping at a global company like Zara or Uniqlo or Muji.

So if I'm gonna get clothes most likely it'd be from those global companies

because I can actually find stuff that fits me but maybe

if I lose a little bit of weight then I'll be

able to fit in some of those really cool really unique Vietnamese clothing brands.

so i do want to wear them in the future after looking around a bit my brother was still shopping

and i decided i'm just gonna head back

because it's getting late it's already five o'clock right now

so i left about 4 30 ish so i wanted to get back

and the ride back was a little bit busy you can see here super busy It's getting close to rush hour.

Five o'clock and beyond is rush hours but I ended up making it here pretty quick.

I got here pretty uneventfully except for the last stretch there was a road we turned on and it was completely flooded.

The deepest parts maybe a foot and a half of water maybe two feet

and I felt my shoe getting wet from the water coming up

but it was all right like I was almost at home

so it didn't really matter I was gonna take my shoes off anyway

but it was kind of funny to see how much water came down in

that short amount of time and I don't know how great the drainage is in
