And a stroke can cause someone to go from totally independent to totally disabled in a matter of seconds.

And the reason why I like stroke is because we have interventions to make people better.

In the old days, people used to suffer the consequences of stroke and they tend to permanently disable someone.

But now, with these new interventions, stroke is potentially curable.

And I've seen people who've had an acute stroke who've had the emergency intervention and they come in completely paralysed, unable to walk and talk and see and they walk home two or three days later.
