1
Here's how to find someone's Instagram ID with their phone number.
2
Open up the Instagram app on your iPhone or Android.
3
It works the exact same.
4
And first, we need to connect your contacts, aka that phone number, to Instagram.
5
To do that, we'll get to your settings.
6
So tap on the profile at the bottom right and the three lines at the top right.
7
After you've done that, you'll be able to see towards the top is your account center, including the ability to manage that Instagram account.
8
Tap on account center here, and then your information and permissions at the bottom.
9
Now, the nice thing is now we can upload all of your contacts,
10
including any contacts that have their phone number and Instagram will automatically find their ID or their profile.
11
So just tap on upload contacts for Instagram and then turn this on.
12
But you're not done yet.
13
Let's hit continue.
14
After you've done that and has shared all contacts, we need to get back out of here to find their specific profile.
15
You can tap on the search bar at the bottom left and then tap at search at the very top.
16
And now from here, we're just going to start typing in their number.
17
So we can start typing in their number.
18
Let's say this one. And then hit search.
19
Just like that, we'll go over to accounts here.
20
And if that phone number is associated with your contacts, it'll pop up with their specific account directly on here.

Why practice speaking with this video?

If you're looking to enhance your English speaking skills, utilizing resources like this video on finding someone's Instagram ID with their phone number is invaluable. The context of social media is familiar to many learners, making it a practical opportunity to engage with the language. By practicing speaking through such videos, you can benefit from real-life scenarios that boost your conversational fluency. The shadowing technique allows you to mimic the speaker's rhythm, intonation, and pronunciation, making it easier to internalize the language as you train your ear and mouth to produce it accurately.

Grammar & Expressions in Context

This video utilizes several effective grammatical structures and expressions that can aid your learning:

  • Imperative Instructions: The speaker often uses imperative verbs, such as "tap," "open," and "hit." This straightforward command style is common in tutorial contexts and helps reinforce the functionality of verbs in English. Practicing this can improve your ability to give clear instructions.
  • Present Continuous Tense: Phrases like "we're just going to start typing" illustrate the present continuous tense, which conveys actions in progress. Understanding this tense can enhance your ability to describe ongoing activities in daily conversations.
  • Connection through Possession: The use of phrases like "your contacts" exemplifies how possession can create personal connections in communication. This structure is useful for everyday discussions where you relate things directly to your listener.

Common Pronunciation Traps

As you practice speaking along with the video, pay attention to some tricky elements that might hinder your pronunciation:

  • The word "contacts": This can often be mispronounced. Focus on articulating the 'c' clearly and ensuring the 't' sound is sharp to avoid blending it into a 'ck' sound.
  • “Account Center”: This multi-syllabic phrase can be challenging. Practice breaking it down into syllables: ac-count cen-ter, emphasizing each part distinctly to enhance clarity.
  • “Upload” and “Share”: The placement of emphasis can affect clarity. Try stressing the first syllable in “upload,” and consider the subtle link between “share” and the following words to maintain a smooth flow.

Integrating these aspects of grammar and pronunciation into your practice sessions will not only prepare you for specific situations but also improve your overall fluency, making you more confident in participating in conversations. Remember, the shadow speak approach enhances your learning experience, allowing for targeted IELTS speaking practice focused on real-world applications. Happy learning!

What is the Shadowing Technique?

Shadowing is a science-backed language learning technique originally developed for professional interpreter training and popularized by polyglot Dr. Alexander Arguelles. The method is simple but powerful: you listen to native English audio and immediately repeat it out loud — like a shadow following the speaker with just a 1–2 second delay. Unlike passive listening or grammar drills, shadowing forces your brain and mouth muscles to simultaneously process and reproduce real speech patterns. Research shows it significantly improves pronunciation accuracy, intonation, rhythm, connected speech, listening comprehension, and speaking fluency — making it one of the most effective methods for IELTS Speaking preparation and real-world English communication.
