23
And let's go ahead and get into my top low energy hobbies for recovering from burnout.
24
First thing I'd like to highlight is that it is absolutely okay to use DIY kits or
25
or lean into things that are already pre-made and mostly done for you because this is the time
26
where you may not want to go out and paint a picture on your own or sew something from scratch.
27
This is a really great time for you to lean into these already pre-made type of kits.
28
So you could do a craft kit with something like this,
29
where it is a half stitch kit.
30
These kits come with everything you need already in it.
31
They come with instructions.
32
They're super easy and mindless.
33
So if you have a day where you just really can't get up off the couch,
34
but you want to do something other than scrolling,
35
these are great things to lean on.
36
I have a few others that I really enjoy like this one is an embroidery kit
37
and sometimes you want to try something a little bit new and fun so I have this punch needle kit.
38
I haven't started on it but I think
39
that this will be really new and exciting
40
because I feel like I do embroidery a lot already
41
but I don't I don't really do punch needling very often
42
and sometimes just trying something new really adds something to your life that you didn't even realize you were missing.
43
Brain games are another really great low energy hobby.
44
I really like to just do these
45
while I'm doing other more mindless tasks like eating dinner or watching a TV show before bed.
46
It's just kind of, it's just nice to sit down
47
and do something that makes you feel like you're actually solving something or putting a lot of energy into something,
48
even though this is something that is not a super high energy task in and of itself.
49
I really like my Myrtle.
50
I also have the New York Times Puzzle Mania,
51
but your local Dollar Tree also has a ton of great and affordable brand games for you to try.
52
Coloring is one of the most accessible,
53
easy, low energy hobbies because it really is the action of slowing down,
54
reconnecting with your inner child,
55
and it's also very mindless, very fun, very silly.
56
I really urge you if you are gonna color to just sit down and color with no expectations.
57
Don't care about going out of the lines.
58
Don't care about your color,
59
your colors matching everything perfectly.
60
Don't care about adding those details and aesthetics because you want,
61
you want all of these hobbies to be low pressure, low energy.
62
It's just things for you to sit down and unwind and think about anything else because the reality is,
63
is if you're feeling burnt out,
64
you're probably burnt out from work things and need true rest.
65
And I love creativity.
66
I love a challenge.
67
But sometimes, sometimes we take hobbies a little too far
68
and make them extra challenging and end up making it this added pressure on ourselves.
69
We don't want any of these hobbies to be high pressure.
70
These are low stakes things for you to just sit down and enjoy.
71
This is the final hobby that I'm going to leave you with
72
because I don't want to overwhelm you with the amount of options.
73
I think these are all great starter creative hobbies for when you're feeling burnt out.
74
And once you get into these,
75
you will really start to kind of figure out what you enjoy,
76
what you want to keep doing,
77
or what you want to try next.
78
And of course, if you want me to make a second video with more ideas of hobbies
79
that help with burnout or any other videos that you can think of,
80
definitely let me know in the comments because I'm always willing to make more videos like this.
81
I love to watercolor paint.
82
Something about watercolor painting that is so relaxing.
83
And I also find just the look of watercolor to be very beautiful
84
and it's such a spring hobby
85
so I feel like I've been really leaning into it a lot recently
86
but it's been making me very sad that I because I feel
87
so burnt out I haven't really been leaning into
88
that hobby as much so I would really recommend you to try a watercolor paint workbook
89
if you are in the same boat this is this is one by Emily Lex Studio.

91

It gives you the color palette and how to paint it.
97

98
It's just coloring with watercolor paint.
99
It's so relaxing, it's so mindful,
100
but you're not really having to put a ton of creative energy into thinking of what you wanna paint,
101
which is why I think it is so, so great for burnout.
102
Even better if you can do literally any of the hobbies that I'm saying outside or with a loved one,
103
because at the end of the day,
104
burnout recovery is a little bit easier
105
when you were able to get yourself outside
106
or in the presence of somebody you love and just talk things through while you were doing the things,
107
while you were doing some of these activities that you really,
108
really love and enjoy.
109
Of course, these hobbies are meant to inspire and help you.
110
If you do not feel inclined to do any of these, that's completely understandable.
111
My goal is more so to help you find something that you can really lean on during this burnout recovery process,
112
because it is hard, it is not easy.

What is the Shadowing Technique?

Shadowing is a science-backed language learning technique originally developed for professional interpreter training and popularized by polyglot Dr. Alexander Arguelles. The method is simple but powerful: you listen to native English audio and immediately repeat it out loud — like a shadow following the speaker with just a 1–2 second delay. Unlike passive listening or grammar drills, shadowing forces your brain and mouth muscles to simultaneously process and reproduce real speech patterns. Research shows it significantly improves pronunciation accuracy, intonation, rhythm, connected speech, listening comprehension, and speaking fluency — making it one of the most effective methods for IELTS Speaking preparation and real-world English communication.
