So let's hop on the bike and I'll explain a bit more.

Now, where am I?

I am in the northern African nation of Tunisia in a city called Gables.

I don't know much about it.

Here we have the flag.

And yeah, I chose the city as the starting point for my journey across Africa.

Let's go.

Now how did I end up here?

You know the last video I was in Afghanistan or Pakistan.

But if you watched the last video you will notice that I had a bit of an accident there.

Watch out of the traffic.

Oh it's quite busy.

Let me get out of the city first and then I'll explain a bit.

Now if you watched my last video you will remember

that I was in Afghanistan and I crossed into Uzbekistan

and I didn't have the best time there because I was a bit sick and I also had that crash,

the crash with the car.

So and after I arrived in Uzbekistan it was also like 40 degrees Celsius

and you know So that area of the world right now is a bit difficult regarding geopolitics.

You know, I wanted to go back to Europe,

but I would have to go either through Russia or through Iran.

And I would have preferred to go to Iran,

but after the recent developments there,

it was no longer possible to go independently.

Now you can only go with a tour guide.

And so that left Russia,

but Russia there have been multiple cases of tourists being arrested recently,

also like bike travelers.

So that was not a great option either.

And yeah, that pretty much...

And the fact that I also hadn't seen my family in like over a year,

basically made me decide that I will fly home.

Back to Germany.

And in Germany I spent like a month or so,

you know, reconnecting with friends and family.

And I also got some upgrades regarding my bike or my camera gear.

And yeah, then I had to decide where to go next.

And I decided on Africa.

And here we are in Tunisia.

It is quite nice here.

It looks like we have some fast food over there.

I haven't had breakfast yet,

so let's give it a shot.

The people here speak both Arabic and French.

I don't really know any Arabic and just a few phrases in French,

but not really enough to have a conversation.

So I'll go to some more French-speaking countries and so I'll definitely need to improve that.

And let's talk about the plans.

So I'm in Tunisia right now and the goal is to make it to South Africa,

which is gonna take me a while.

And the route that I'm planning to take is across West Africa.

So next I'll go to Algeria,

then to Morocco, and then through Mauritania,

towards Senegal, and then all of West Africa.

And over there people also oftentimes speak French.

And then I'll continue towards Cameroon,

Angola, and then Namibia, and eventually South Africa, hopefully.

So it's gonna be a long journey.

I estimate it's gonna take me at least one and a half years.

And yeah, I'll continue documenting my journey and I want to of course thank you for the support so far.

It's been overwhelming honestly, much better than I imagined it to ever be.

So yeah, it's gonna be an exciting journey I had and I can't wait to get started.

The first impression of Tunisia was pretty decent,

The people are friendly, the food is good.

But one thing is this, that I don't like.

There's quite a lot of trash around everywhere.

Which is a bit of a shame, honestly.

But other than that, I'm enjoying it.

So what's interesting about this part of Tunisia is that you have these caves where people still live in nowadays.

but in some, like this one is abandoned.
