1
Hey guys, I'm Alia.
2
I have lived in Seattle for over six years now
3
and today I wanted to share with you guys all of my favorite places to go,
4
hang out, eat and everything in between.
5
We're gonna cover restaurants, bars,
6
cafes, bakeries, shops, areas, and general activities.
7
So let's go.
8
Okay, we're gonna start out with food
9
because I know that's why a lot of you are here is to figure out where do you go eat in Seattle?
10
What's the spot to go eat at?
11
Where does everybody go for dinner?
12
Well, I have the answers,
13
but first I do want to give a disclaimer
14
that these are just places that I like to go to
15
and places that I've been going to for the last couple years.
16
First one on the list comes as no surprise to you guys if you've watched my videos for a long time,
17
you know that my favorite,
18
favorite, favorite place to get food in Seattle has to be the Seattle Fish Guys.
19
I have been going to them for years now,
20
and ever since I had them for the first time,
21
I just, like, fell in love.
22
They are located in the heart of the Central District.
23
They are a restaurant and seafood market.
24
They serve the most incredible poke I've ever had in my life.
25
Guys, I gotta tell you,
26
this is my favorite spot in Seattle.
27
Do you know how many times we've been here?
28
I haven't been counting, no. yeah i mean i haven't been counting either
29
but i definitely think it's like over 20 times like 30
30
times we come here at least twice a month i would say once a week is like the usual
31
but i always always get if they have it the sweet shoyu salmon
32
and the spicy salmon you can build your own bowl i always get the spicy tuna
33
if you get the salmon it's also really good
34
but i just double up on Yoni loves the spicy tuna because it's the mayo dressing like the mayo sauce.
35
I mean look at this beauty.
36
Oh my god are you kidding me?
37
Now next for food we have Rachel's Ginger Beer
38
which is located in Capitol Hill but also with the location in Pike Place and U Village.
39
But the reason why RGB is in the food section is
40
because their Capitol Hill and U Village locations both have a collaboration with Maono fried chicken
41
so anytime i go i always get either the fried chicken sandwich
42
or the chicken fingers they are incredible they have different spice
43
levels they can pick from i would always stay with the mild
44
because it's plenty
45
but try it at your own risk the combination of the fried chicken with the fries
46
and the rachel's ginger beer with whatever flavors you get is
47
so on point that it has to be at the top of the list now the next restaurant
48
that i would highly recommend to everybody to go try is paju located in lower queen anne they serve modern
49
and unique takes on korean dishes
50
if you come here you have to try the squid ink fried rice
51
or the steak bulgogi made with truffles it's absolutely incredible those
52
two are always on their menu most of their menu changes seasonally
53
but these two have been on rotation on the menu every
54
single time i come over there they just serve really innovative dishes with incredible incredible flavor combinations
55
and this place is also great to come with a large group
56
if you want to taste test everything
57
because the portions are meant to be shared family style now
58
one of my all-time favorite places to eat in seattle has
59
to be pasta casalinga in pike place market it's a little bit hard to find
60
and you have to really look for the signs of where to go
61
because it's deep in the market so it's one of those places
62
that if you know you know
63
but pasta casalinga is a pasta bar not a lot of seating
64
so So you definitely have to sometimes wait a little bit,
65
but it's so so so worth it This place has been my family
66
and I's go-to ever since we moved to Seattle since we've discovered it.
67
It's incredible So we're at pasta casalinga right now They have three
68
that change always have one from the ocean from the farm
69
and from the garden And then they always have like the lasagna
70
and the classic like pomodoro pasta But this is my go-to spot in Parkway Parkways in Pike Boys Market
71
Another one of my all-time favorite restaurants in Seattle for the past couple years has been Isarn Thai Soul Kitchen.
72
They have several locations around Seattle area,
73
but I always go to the Queen Anne location or the Gravana location.
74
The ambiance is always so nice
75
and perfect for dinner with a larger group as their dishes are really the perfect size to share among people.
76
And they have so many different dishes that I love,
77
but some of my favorites have to be the chinese sausage fried rice
78
and the patou as well as their thai steak salad
79
which i could literally eat every single day it's
80
that good okay now listen i love my pastries like
81
if pastries were a food group
82
which to me they are i just i take them very seriously
83
and that's why i have one place to recommend you for
84
pastries in seattle where to get the best pastries with the most like interesting flavors
85
but also the highest quality would have to be at temple
86
pastries in central district they have come through every time like
87
every time they change their menu every time they have new items it's just
88
so
89
so good it's flaky it's buttery it's like the perfect pastry i swear to you they have new changing flavors
90
but some ogs that are always there also the interior is really lovely
91
if you want to hang out in there they also have a little bit of outdoor seating
92
and if you're trying to get some work done they have some upstairs seating
93
that has plenty of seeds and a lot of plugs now a second pastry shop
94
that is close second for me has to be bake shop
95
in lower queen anne they also make some incredible pastries
96
but they also have sandwiches and more like lunch items
97
but everything
98
that i've tried there has been really good super flavorful um
99
also their coffee is really good i'm a big bagel gal
100
and
101
if you are a bagel person these are my recommendations for
102
you first we have westman's bagels they're my absolute favorite
103
because they were in my neighborhood but they're also some of the best
104
that i've had in the city their sandwiches especially their bec
105
which is bacon egg and cheese sandwich is so
106
so good their version of it is exactly the perfect bacon egg
107
and cheese sandwich in my opinion i always get it on an everything bagel
108
but they have all varieties of bagels and they have seasonal schmears
109
and they have an extensive menu of different sandwiches if you're not a BC person.
110
Second, we have Mount Bagel which is also located in Capitol Hill.
111
They're a newer addition to the city but definitely worth checking out.
112
We've got our bagels.
113
Both scallion but this is a spicy scallion.
114
This is good.
115
I love how soft the inside is too.
116
The next spot might be one of my most frequented places that I've been to in Seattle,
117
especially in the last few years.
118
And it has to be Little Oddfellows located in Capitol Hill inside of the Elliott Bay Bookstore.
119
By the way, Elliott Bay Bookstore should be a place that you check out on its own outside of the Little Oddfellows.
120
But Little Oddfellows has been a hub for me to work out of my apartment.
121
For some reason I can really focus in there.
122
It's super chill and nice and nice.
123
It gets really busy by noon so you definitely have to hurry up and snatch a seat because it's really popular.
124
They have really great pastries.
125
They also have a few lunch items like sandwiches or soup and more importantly their coffee is really really good.
126
There's plenty of seating and plugs to charge your computer.
127
Okay now for drinks I do have a few recommendations to start off with.
128
If you are a matcha person,
129
if you like matcha, which I love matcha,
130
I'm also very particular about my matcha then i would say
131
that my favorite matcha spot it would have to be nana's
132
green tea downtown seattle they by far make the best matcha i've found in the city
133
but they also make matcha everything they're one of those places
134
they have matcha parfaits matcha ice cream matcha pastries they also
135
have savory food like rice bowls with meat you can easily
136
just have a whole meal there including a matcha dessert seattle has several bubble tea places
137
that are really really good but I have two favorite ones in the city.
138
Number one has to be Meraki tea in the U district.
139
So we just went to Meraki tea
140
and this is one of my favorite like bubble spots especially
141
when I was in college living around U-Dub I would always get bubble tea from Meraki
142
and my go-to is the mango passion fruit green tea
143
and you can also tell they have like little bits of I think it's mango
144
and passion fruit inside it so you know like that's why the flavor is
145
so good and second we have happy lemon i know they're international
146
but we do have a few locations here in seattle
147
and they are some of my favorites for specifically milk teas with boba
148
and of course you always have to get one of their bubble waffles
149
because they're just to die for incredible
150
and the pairing with the milk tea is just chef's kiss now i don't really drink much
151
but i did want to include one drinks slash bar place if you are interested.
152
I do love wine and one of my favorite,
153
all-time favorite wine bars in Seattle has to be Otherworld Wine Bar.
154
They specialize in natural wines and they always have so many wines that you can either buy to take home.
155
They also have rotating wines,
156
either some whites or reds or oranges or rosés.
157
It's just such a lovely space to be in
158
because you don't feel like have to know about wines to go there the vibes are immaculate
159
and the music and the space and the people
160
that go there i highly recommend you guys check out otherworld
161
wine bar okay now for desserts i am not a big ice cream person i'm gonna say this
162
but at the same time at the top of my list for desserts has to be salt
163
and straw their ice cream is incredible they have new flavors every month
164
which is amazing and keeps people going back i would have to say
165
that my favorite favorite favorite favorite flavor
166
that I always get no matter what the new thing is
167
has to be honey lavender ice cream in a waffle cone or waffle bowl.
168
Now the second dessert place that I highly recommend you guys check out is called Byten
169
and it's located also in Capitol Hill.
170
They specialize in Japanese desserts but more specifically the fruit sandwiches and incredible soft serve.
171
We got a little yuzu soft serve and black sesame soft serve.
172
Oh my god, the black sesame is crazy.
173
Now for activities.
174
Seattleites are known to love the outdoors
175
which is actually why a lot of people live in Seattle
176
and the Pacific Northwest is because there's so much greenery
177
and water and just nature in general so people are always looking for ways to spend more time outside.
178
Now we're over here at Lake Union and I'm here
179
because probably one of the most popular activities for Seattleites has to be paddle boarding.
180
I would say I personally prefer Lake Union just because it's a little bit more adventurous.
181
It's bigger and you get to see the city 360 degrees because Lake Union is in the middle of Seattle.
182
So you get to see downtown,
183
you get to see Gasworks Park and it's also really close to a lot of different food places.
184
So you can make a whole day out of it.
185
I have to say that one of my favorite parks in Seattle is where I'm actually located right now,
186
which is Myrtle Edwards Park.
187
And it's super sunny today,
188
but even when it's gloomy, it's so beautiful.
189
It's my favorite go-to spot for a walk or a run.
190
This trail is the Elliott Bay Trail,
191
and it's a super long one.
192
So if you want to go on a run or anything,
193
anytime you want to get away from the city and get to be by the water,
194
the breeze, the smell of the ocean is just beautiful.
195
And I love how it stretches all the way from Inner Bay down to the Olympic Sculpture Park.
196
And speaking of, my second place
197
that I highly recommend you guys check out in Seattle or just go to hang out is Olympic Sculpture Park.
198
It's very, very unique to Seattle.
199
It was put together by the Seattle Arts Museum.
200
And there's just a lot of like different sculptures that are in the park.
201
The park itself isn't really big,
202
but there's a lot of just like open space where you can hang out,
203
you can sit down, you can have a picnic.
204
And I love how all these parks are just connected to each other.
205
So you can easily just see all of them in one day.
206
And if you continue in the same direction,
207
you will reach the waterfront,
208
which is probably my favorite part of the activities because it's so beautiful.
209
You really get to feel like you are in Seattle and that Pacific Northwest vibe.
210
There's actually a lot of different little like restaurants and coffee shops,
211
places to eat, stores that you can find along the way
212
and in the summertime it's always super busy but still really fun especially
213
if this is your first time in seattle i definitely recommend
214
walking all the way from centenio park into the waterfront
215
because then you can walk all the way to pike place
216
and it's a beautiful like 20 minute walk not too long you get to see a lot of the city
217
and a lot of what the seattle vibe has to offer
218
and of course pike place market i know it's super touristy
219
but even
220
if this is not your first time in Seattle I really love coming here from time to time
221
because there's always so much going on there's
222
so many things you can do you can spend a whole day walking through the market
223
because there's so many little places that sometimes are a little secret
224
and you might need to find your way to them like pasta castlingo
225
which I mentioned before but there's so many little like food spots
226
that are kind of hole in the walls they also have
227
so many little stores inside the place that aren't just market like
228
but you can buy like posters or books or antiques
229
so the market is super fun especially because it's connected to the waterfront.
230
So there's a lot of really nice views
231
that you can get from the market
232
and in general it's just a great weekend activity
233
but also early morning during the week
234
if you get a chance it's really nice
235
because it's a lot more quiet so you get to enjoy the market all to yourself.
236
And lastly for activities we have the Fremont Sunday Market.
237
It's probably where you're gonna find me every Sunday because it's that good.
238
Okay so we're over here at the Fremont Sunday Market.
239
It's always super busy but especially in the summertime it's really busy
240
and in the wintertime usually the market is moved under the Fremont Bridge so if it's like rain season,
241
winter season, you can always go to the market so let's go.
242
When my sister and I come here every time,
243
we always get some type of food.
244
They always have food trucks lined up.
245
People always come, get some food,
246
then go walk through all the little stands.
247
And the food trucks are always like local Seattle businesses.
248
And now onto vintage and thrift stores.
249
My favorite category.
250
I left it for last.
251
If you already have the Fremont Sunday Market,
252
you might as well make your way to the Fremont to the Fremont Vintage Mall,
253
which is just a block away.
254
And you can spend hours in this place.
255
It has everything you can imagine a place to have from homeware to clothing to accessories.
256
I always love popping in there to like look at records or books or even clothes.
257
You can really find some special finds in there.
258
Next, I would say at the top of my list
259
when it comes to vintage stores and thrift stores in general in Seattle has to be Slow Dance in Capitol Hill.
260
They are some of my favorites because they are more of a curated vintage shop.
261
The price point will be a little bit higher,
262
but I think it's worth it because I know every time I walk in there,
263
there will be several pieces that I would like.
264
And they always have various sizes and the quality is really, really good.
265
I like that it's not just like the typical vintage tees or denim and those types of more like thrifted finds.
266
You can really see that they take time to curate their pieces
267
and they have a lot more selection when it comes to like more fancy items.
268
Next, we have Red Light Vintage,
269
which is located in the U District where all the college kids go to get their vintage and thrift finds.
270
So, you know, it's good.
271
They really have a lot in there,
272
a lot of vintage tees,
273
a lot of denim, and they actually have a whole area just for costumes.
274
So, people often go there for like parties, themed parties, or Halloween.
275
There's really a lot to dig through in there.
276
Next, we have Late Night Vintage Market.
277
This place is huge and if you are someone who likes to put on their headphones
278
and browse in a vintage shop for hours This is a place for you.
279
This place is really big.
280
They host a bunch of different vendors,
281
which I love There's literally something for everybody There's
282
so many different styles of clothing in the market from like sporty to super vintage
283
and rare There's really something for everybody
284
and it's a great place to go with friends and hang out
285
and walk around and browse through Another shop is Erez Consignment.
286
I actually really love this store.
287
If you want to find something a little bit more fancy and less thrift-like,
288
this is actually a consignment store.
289
So you will find a lot of really great brands that are not necessarily vintage or old,
290
but they're just, you know,
291
put up to be reused.
292
And I've really found some great pieces in there.
293
And there you have it.
294
Those are all of my favorite places in Seattle to eat,
295
drink, hang out, shop, and everything in between.
296
Let me know if you're gonna check out
297
or have checked out any of the places I mentioned
298
and also let me know if There are any spots that you're like,
299
how could she not mention this place?
300
Please let me know and again This is just my opinion.
301
These are just the places that I like
302
and I've liked for the last couple years
303
But there's plenty of other ones that I didn't mention just
304
because this video again can't be 20 hours long
305
But I hope you guys enjoyed it I would really appreciate it
306
if you guys liked this video and share it with your friends and also subscribe if you're not subscribed.
307
A lot of exciting videos coming to you very soon.
308
I'm filming from a very special location right now.
309
Thank you guys so much again for watching and I'll see you next time.
