1
You don't need to be rich to feel rich
2
and you don't need your life to be perfect to feel genuinely content with it.
3
I'm going to show you the exact system I use to build
4
that feeling of internal wealth so
5
that you can feel content in your life now without constantly feeling as though you need your life to change first.
6
Because I think we often get this backwards.
7
We spend so much time trying to fix what's happening externally
8
when a huge part of actually feeling wealthy in life actually comes from changing what's going on internally.
9
And this isn't just something that I've read about.
10
When I realized that I was genuinely the most happy and content with the direction of my life, this is the system that I had in place at the time.
11
And it's the system that I still use today to ensure that I continue to live a rich and content life.
12
So let's talk about the system.
13
A couple of years ago, I was earning the least amount of money that I've ever earned in my life.
14
I was also having a really hard time with my family.
15
My parents were getting a divorce, my sister was fighting stage four cancer, and there were several other things going on as well.
16
From the outside looking in, my life at the time looked really challenging, and I'm not going to deny it was a very, very challenging time.
17
But this is the interesting part.
18
Even though I was experiencing a challenging time in my life, another part of me was actually really content with the direction of my life
19
and really content internally with how I was responding to my external challenges.
20
This is the moment that I realized that all the work
21
that I'd been doing on myself was actually really helping me to feel okay, even though my external circumstances were saying otherwise.
22
I was genuinely shocked that I could feel both of these feelings at once.
23
I could have all this stuff going on externally but feel this internal contentment at the same time.
24
Now we know that external wealth like money and a roof over our head can definitely secure our comfort,
25
our safety and our happiness but it's only to a certain point.
26
Psychological research proves that actually having more money can't cure that internal happiness past a certain threshold.
27
True contentment ultimately depends on your internal growth as chasing endless
28
material wealth will never fully satisfy you as much as enriching your state of mind does.
29
So this is so interesting
30
because I was actually listening to a new podcast the other day between Oprah Winfrey and Mel Robbins.
31
Let me know if you listen to it.
32
And Oprah really confirmed this for me because obviously she has lived an incredible life.
33
She has a lot of money.
34
She has a lot of external wealth.
35
She has a lot of external material things.
36
She can get anything she wants.
37
But she made this comment and she spoke about how many people probably look at her
38
and look at all the things she's accumulated and all the money that she's made and think, wow, she's so lucky and she must be so grateful for all of that.
39
But in her eyes, she feels most lucky and grateful for the person that she has become over the years.
40
Yes, she is grateful for the things that she has externally, but she's even more grateful for the growth that she has done internally,
41
the way that she has changed internally, and the person that she has grown to be.
42
Once again, it's
43
that feeling of internal wealth as opposed to focusing on all
44
the external material things in our lives to help us validate how we feel about ourselves and our lives.
45
So let's talk about the system.
46
Let's go into my iPad.
47
Okay so with the old way it's about getting more money to feel secure, successful and abundant.
48
It's heavily focused on what we're building externally like money, achievements and status.
49
It's also really common in this way to always be chasing the next goalpost.
50
That sounds like I'll be happy when this happens.
51
I'll be happy when that happens.
52
The other thing that's really common here is looking outside of yourself.
53
So looking externally for validation.
54
This is like when we connect our worth,
55
our self -worth to what we are achieving externally or what we have externally, how cool our car is, how cool our clothes are,
56
who we're hanging out with, what we're doing, where we're going, all of this kind of stuff for the validation of the person we are and our self -worth.
57
In the old way, it's also really common to focus on changing.
58
your circumstances to change how you feel.
59
If your circumstances change, if someone around you changes, if things externally change for the better,
60
then you will start to feel positive emotions.
61
Your emotions are tied to what's happening to your life externally.
62
And the bottom line is the thing
63
that you feel from living life in this old way is this feeling of like something is missing.
64
You're always striving for more and you're never fully satisfied.
65
I'm glad I'm speaking this out loud because my handwriting on this iPad is rubbish.
66
Okay let's move on to the new way.
67
This is the new way of living and this is the system that we're going to go through in a moment.
68
So the new way of living looks a bit like this.
69
You're building self -awareness to actually understand what makes you feel fulfilled.
70
You're focusing on what you're building internally, your mindset, your habits, your identity, your self -trust.
71
This is a good one.
72
You learn to find meaning in your life as it is now.
73
You also change how you see yourself and you're building internal validation
74
as opposed to that external validation
75
that we spoke about in the old way your mindset completely changes
76
and you actually perceive and experience your circumstances completely differently than you did before
77
and this is the thing that you get from it right
78
when you're living this new life this is the main that you will get from it.
79
This is the main feeling you will get.
80
You'll feel content, fulfilled, grateful, and rich.
81
And here's the important part, even when
82
life's not great
83
you'll be able to feel all those emotions even
84
when things in your life aren't really going the way
85
that ideally you would like them to go why this is really important is
86
because there are so many things in life
87
that we cannot control like my parents divorcing my sister dying many other things
88
that i experienced over the past few years i had no control over
89
but i did have control over my inner state and
90
that is the new way of living that's what the new
91
way of living gives you it gives you control of how you feel despite everything else going on
92
so how do we do it how do we live this new way of living
93
that is the system that is what we're going to talk about now
94
so there are five areas of focus in the system
95
so let's go through them now area number one to focus on is your mindset.
96
You want to develop a mindset
97
that allows you to feel good about your life before everything in your life is as you want it to be.
98
Because when your sense of contentment isn't completely dependent on your external circumstances,
99
you stop constantly moving the goalpost on your own happiness.
100
Area number two to focus on is your inner voice.
101
You want an inner voice that feels like it's on your side.
102
It's your friend rather than one that's constantly criticizing you or doubting you or telling you that you're behind in life.
103
Imagine going through life with a voice inside your head that actually makes you feel supported and capable and safe in yourself.
104
That's what working on your inner voice can do.
105
The third area of focus in this system is identity.
106
You want to see yourself as the type of person
107
that you actually want to be and then live your life according to
108
that person that you are becoming rather than being held back by the story of the person you have previously been.
109
Because when you genuinely respect and trust and feel proud of the person that you are,
110
that becomes a form of wealth that no external achievement can give you.
111
The fourth area to focus on is values and purpose.
112
I don't think this area gets spoken about enough on the internet
113
and I think it's the missing puzzle piece for so many people in this personal development work.
114
So it's really important to know what really matters to you
115
because that's what allows you to build a life that feels meaningful rather than simply one that looks successful from the outside.
116
And then purpose gives your life a sense of enrichment that no purchase or achievement or milestone can replicate.
117
Area number five to focus on for this system is habits.
118
You want your everyday habits to reflect the person that you want to be and the things that matter most to you.
119
So your habits should reflect your values and your purpose and your identity.
120
There is something incredibly fulfilling about looking at the way that you spend your ordinary days, your ordinary moments, and being able to say to yourself,
121
yes, like this is the way that I want to live.
122
This is truly how I want to live.
123
This is what I mean by the exact system for internal wealth.
124
It's liking the way you think, liking the way you speak to yourself, liking who you are becoming,
125
knowing what matters to you and living your ordinary days in alignment with it.
126
I'm about to share a free resource that's going to help
127
you put this five step system into action in your own life.
128
Today in this video, I've intentionally focused on what I did to build internal wealth.
129
The deeper work is actually going into all these five areas yourself and making the positive changes.
130
And that is exactly what this entire channel is here to help you with.
131
Here on this channel, I talk about mindset, self -awareness, habits, inner voice, and purpose.
132
All of the things that help you to build a richer inner world and a richer life.
133
But if you're sitting there thinking, okay, Emily, but how do I get started with this?
134
Well, here is the free resource for you.
135
In the description below, I have added my free resource called the Inner Growth Starter Kit.
136
It's actually the 2 .0 version.
137
I've recently updated it.
138
So in there, it walks you through each of these five areas
139
that we spoke about today and gives you simple exercises to start working on them.
140
My aim was to make it very easy to follow, actionable, and not overwhelming.
141
Think about it as your starting point for creating a rich life from the inside out.
142
Thank you so much for watching today.
143
Don't forget to hype this video if you found it valuable and I'll see you in the next one.

Por fim, pratique frases como "I could feel both of these feelings at once" ou "True contentment ultimately depends on your internal growth", pois elas têm conectores e intonações que são essenciais para falar como um nativo.
