1
Being an adult who doesn't have their own place yet
2
and the rent prices are so high I'm probably not moving out anytime soon.
3
My room is the closest thing I'm going to get to my own apartment.
4
That's why I like to take pride and joy into my space, making it somewhere I'm comfortable to just spend time, do the things I like, gaming.
5
Whatever I like to do, majority of it is done in my room.
6
I live in a big family home and it's the only place I can get privacy.
7
So it only makes sense to invest my money in tech, furniture, gadgets, whatever I need to make this room the best it possibly can be.
8
This is now my second room that I've built and I get so much love on TikTok.
9
The videos go viral every time I post my room.
10
So I think it's only right for me to show you
11
guys how to actually rebuild your room into your personal space and make it the best it possibly can be.
12
The first thing you've got to do, get rid of all the clutter, all them GCSE school books under your bed, all the clothes you don't use.
13
either sell them on ebay vinted get some money back you just need to create space
14
and just get rid of the stuff you don't need there's
15
no point holding onto stuff i feel like once you do
16
this you're ready to move on to a new chapter fresh mind fresh clean space
17
and you just have more space essentially to work with to
18
build your room i know some of you guys have overflowing wardrobe with clothes
19
that don't even fit you anymore i remember my old room i had clothes from
20
when i was 15 polo shirts things like that
21
so yeah give them away sell them whatever you can do
22
just get rid of them now once you got rid of
23
everything you need to kind of look at your room
24
and realize my room has been built like this by an
25
architect for a reason they put gaps in walls a space for your bed
26
if your bed doesn't slot right into a spot more
27
so than likely either your bed is too big or
28
that space there wasn't created for your bed
29
so look at your space measure the gaps
30
and see whether you can have like a double single queen
31
size bed look at your wardrobe some rooms come built in
32
with wardrobes some might have little gaps some might not it's
33
like a puzzle you have to kind of fit things where they work.
34
Every room needs a bed and a wardrobe.
35
So those are the first two things you should be prioritising
36
and then you can kind of work with your space accordingly to see
37
if you can fit for example a desk a tv unit whatever is your fancy basically
38
but i think majority of us are in the same position where we go to school
39
or working or working from home
40
so a desk is kind of essential in every room so
41
if you do have the space i would say look for a desk
42
that suits you some people might need desk storage some people might want to stand in this
43
because they don't want to be sitting too long i have a standing desk and
44
honestly do i use it not much but i like the way it's simplistic
45
and i don't have a lot of stuff to store
46
so it generally just fits whatever i need
47
and also guys please manage your cables properly i don't want
48
to see cables hanging down from behind buy some things off
49
amazon i think they're called cable cable holders you can stick it under your desk i have
50
that and that's
51
when you see no cables hanging around under no clutter no mixed up wires it's all hidden at the bottom
52
and stuck to my desk now
53
when it comes to picking your monitor you want to pick a monitor
54
that fits whatever you need
55
if you know you are into gaming you might want to be looking to oled
56
if you know you are you are into for example editing
57
you want to get something with 100 color accuracy get whatever fits your fancy
58
if you want 28 inch of your space 32 inch
59
if your desk is bigger there's no right
60
or wrong answer you've just got to figure out what works for you
61
so what might work for me might not work for you.
62
I currently have a Samsung Odyssey G5 32 inch.
63
It's a gaming monitor and has 90% color accuracy.
64
So when I am editing and I export straight from the monitor, sometimes I see the colors aren't the same as when I was editing on here.
65
You also want to get a monitor arm.
66
This essentially just holds your monitor up, allows you to put anything under
67
and gives you more of a cleaner look rather than having the little pole at the bottom
68
and you can't even put anything under the desk under the
69
monitor i have a monitorizer i bought this off etsy it's like a wooden one it's really nice
70
and i just store my laptop um ssd cards whatever kind of clutter
71
that will be lying around i will just store it in
72
there it just gives me a nice space for my keyboard my um playstation pad whatever I'm doing, there's a lot of space for me to kind of actually work with.
73
And with the actual desk space, get a mouse pad.
74
It's a lot nicer to use your mouse on the mouse pad compared to the desk and get whatever keyboard, mouse, if you're a gamer or normal.
75
Just get what fits you.
76
There's no right or wrong.
77
Just do your research and find what fits you.
78
I'm also really big on sound.
79
I've got these Edifier speakers.
80
You can get any speaker, but I just like when I'm cleaning my room or when I'm chilling and gaming, the sound is there it's proper nice like it actually is better than it just coming from your laptop
81
or your monitor
82
audio quality is a lot better
83
and yeah you don't have to break the bank there's some speakers you can get for like 40 50 pounds
84
so whatever fits your budget i think that's worth everything you've got to understand
85
that furniture bedroom gadgets you've got to get what you can afford you don't want to go too far
86
but you've got to understand that there's gadgets for every budget as well
87
so just look for what you need you don't have to
88
build your room in one day you can build it over
89
time you can do your bed your your wardrobe then build your desk over time now
90
that you've got your bed your wardrobe your desk set up
91
i think this is majority of the essentials you need in your room now it's time for the creative part
92
and where you make your room more personal i think the
93
best way to do this is with wall art you could
94
get posters frames plant pots whatever you're into whatever you have to look at your room
95
and be like oh i have space here this looks empty
96
what can i put here i'm into japanese art i like football i've got football frames you can
97
so you can look come into my room
98
and you can tell this is junior's room
99
because you can see all the stuff i like and
100
but don't go on google and just type our home decorations
101
and then you see like a night plant and just buy or whatever, actually look into what you like and actually go deeper
102
because there's some stuff at the bottom of the search that may be better, the things that are recommended or whatever.
103
And you don't want your room to be a carbon copy of someone else's you've seen on Pinterest or TikTok.
104
Some people also like to add a rug.
105
I did have a rug, but I threw it away because it was so dirty.
106
So i think i need to get a new one
107
but i do like my room about a rug it just actually feels kind of bigger
108
so last but not least all of our rooms come with these weird yellowish lights
109
and honestly it just kind of ruins the vibe of your
110
room get some leds wall lights monitor bars control the color
111
and don't put the leds out in the open i think
112
that's what we used to do in like 2020 no put
113
them behind your monitor put them behind your shelves desk
114
when you do it like that it kind of illuminates onto the wall
115
and it looks cleaner everything looks cleaner seamless it doesn't look forced
116
and tacky and then you can pick colors
117
that right now we've got blue purple just pick your vibe
118
whatever you're feeling on the day there's like it just feels a lot nicer now
119
when you have built your room it's not about just building it
120
and leaving it
121
that you've got to take care of your room you've got
122
to clean it you've got to make sure the scent's all
123
right have some candles some reed diffusers clean your room once
124
a week this not only is it good for your space
125
but it actually teach you to be a man
126
when you actually need to move out your house
127
because you're you're already accustomed to looking after a small room
128
so when you get your own apartment cleaning your room doing your laundry things like
129
that you're just going to be so used to it
130
and you'll be you're you're training to be a man
131
and live by yourself basically and be more independent i like the way like room content
132
and people are taking more pride in their rooms um before
133
was not the case i used to be someone i never cared clothes all the place different color furniture
134
and everything nothing matches
135
and yeah i like i like this new kind of trend of everyone rebuilding the room
136
and having nice rooms at the end of the day making
137
your room is like a puzzle you've got to figure out
138
where things fit you've got you've got to think what works
139
well what decoration works well once you hit your creative side
140
and understand what works and what doesn't then you'll have the most perfect room
141
and before you buy something envision it measure things make sure
142
they fit don't have a wardrobe sticking out don't have odd
143
colors make sure you pick a color scheme before you start hopefully this was informative
144
and helped you guys with rooms
145
if there's any knowledge you guys want me to pass on
146
or whatever let me know thank you guys for watching peace
