That case created complicated legal questions,

with the president suing government agencies that now report directly to him as commander-in-chief.

But Democrats are slamming the move as a corrupt handout to the president's friends.

A woman named Tova Noel appeared on Capitol Hill to answer questions in a closed-door deposition today.

Why is she so important to this case?

Well, Noel was the guard working in the federal facility where Jeffrey Epstein was being held the night he died,

apparently by suicide, back in 2019.

Noelle herself has said she is likely the last person to have ever seen the infamous sex trafficker

while he was still alive.

Now, lawmakers leading this investigation say that Noelle's failure to properly check in on Epstein

while he was being held in federal custody is part of a larger

and systemic problem among other staff and management at

that federal facility in New York City

and many of the lingering questions about Epstein's death while in federal custody have continued to fuel speculation and conspiracy,

especially in the last few years as the case has become entwined in national politics.
