You might be wondering what on earth am I talking about?

Well, I'm going on one of Emirates' multi-sector trips.

These trips are the longest you can get as Emirates cabin crew with some lasting six days.

But this one is only four with a 24 hour layover in Milan, 24 hours in New York and another 24 hours in Milan before heading back home to Dubai.

Stuck on your view and your clarity I've been waiting a long time Now,

as beautiful as this hotel room is, I'm actually not staying in it

because I have planned what might be my craziest layover idea

yet by booking an Airbnb for the night at the famous Lake Como, which is only an hour and a half drive away from the airport.

Before I say goodbye to the hotel though, I really wanted to check out the crew room.

They have specifically for us air crew.

Not every hotel actually has this, but this has to be the biggest one I've ever seen.

If I didn't have all these plans, I would be going to get so much Italian groceries and cooking up an absolute storm in these kitchens.

But what I will do, because I did pack a lot of my food for the whole trip, including on the flights, I'm actually going to leave a fair bit of it here.

And thankfully, they have this huge fridge, so I'll pick it back up before wake up call tomorrow.

Now, seeing as I

am going a little far away from the airport, I would have been silly not to hire a car because I want to make sure I am on my own time, not relying on anyone else or any public transport.

I'm actually hiring a car through an Italian-based car hire company called Nologiare, which I'd normally just go through those big brand websites

but they had some sick last minute deals so it just made sense to go with them.

Also my advice for anyone wanting to hire a car in Italy, the smaller the better and you'll see why when we get to those local Italian streets.

I'm so excited, I'm here in Milan, Italy and I am going to drive up to Lake Como and explore and show you what I get up to.

I don't know about you, but when I saw these huge mountains in the distance, I genuinely was shaking from excitement.

It might be hard to believe, but this is my first time ever in Italy.

And it was truly living up to its magical hype.

Now I was still trying to get to my accommodation before sunset

but this park with this insane view was way too beautiful not to pull over and take a better look.

As much as hotels are easy,

especially with 24-hour check-in desks, I'm really finding Airbnbs to be just as good, if not better.

The fact you have the ability to stay in these little hidden gems

that are often in locations hotels aren't is so cool.

I mean, just look at this view.

I'd love to know, are you team Airbnb or hotels?

Or do you just book whatever is the best price?

The other thing that I love about Airbnbs are they're often set up like a home.

And look, maybe some of you might think Airbnbs like this are corny or dated, but I love and appreciate how much effort

and detail people put into them even looking at these prints which are taken right here.

And let's not talk about all the games, which really makes me wish Zach was here,

but I'll appreciate these things so much when we are traveling full time together.

Also, let's just take a moment for the amount of effort

they've put in just for this information about Lake Como on the kitchen table.

Committal to sea trauma in everything Oh, it's not so bad, you just make it like that

So I'm at my Airbnb and it is so beautiful I've just spent the whole last half an hour, hour Taking as many photos as I can before the sun goes down

Because it was tight trying to get up here in time

But I just want to give you a little look At what my view is Honestly, like, amazing.

I'm so stoked that I'm here.

It's moments like this where I'm so glad I packed my own food, as there aren't many options for me around restaurant-wise, plus I have a pretty tight schedule tomorrow,

as I plan to drive the entire way around the south side of Lake Como from where I am.

So up to Bellagio, down to Como City, and then back to return my car hire all before 2pm tomorrow.

Now, maybe a pullout sofa bed isn't everyone's first preference to sleep on, but I'm going to tell you my trick to how I get a good night's sleep no matter where I am.

But now that you know how I stay so well rested, let's go see where I choose to spend my first ever Italian sunrise.

Now, although I just pulled over, that was purely because the view while I was driving was insane, and I really wanted to soak it up.

But my first stop was actually at the famous waterfront right near the ferry station.

So being out this early means that I can set up my tripod

and not have too many people looking at me like I'm an absolute weirdo.

Because I really did want to get some nice photos for Instagram or even some videos to make a reel from.

But who wouldn't?

I mean, come on, look at this spot.

Now, funny story, but this was actually the last time I saw my gold hair claw I'm wearing.

I really prefer to have my hair out in photos.

So clever me took my hair out

and left my hair claw beside my tripod and forgot to take it with me when I left.

And yes, I did go back for it, but sadly it wasn't there.

So shout out to whoever has my gold hair claw.

I hope you're loving it as much as I did.

But we live and we learn

and I really didn't have time to be sad about it today because I had so much I wanted to see.

With the next stop being only a five minute drive to kind of the top point of Bellagio,

I had actually found this spot by purely looking on Google Maps and seeing this rock wall, which I think you can all agree with me, did not disappoint.

I spent a little bit of time here getting some cool videos

and just watching all the life begin to unfold in this incredible spot in the world.

I really felt like I was soaking up that moment of realizing I'm in Italy.

Now, the parking in Bellagio is quite tricky, but I managed to find a space back near the ferry station, which is exactly where I want to be,

as I'm heading in to find the famous street called Salita Ceboloni.

I knew

straight away I was in the right spot because it was already so busy, which was a little unfortunate for me as it was really hard to set up a tripod

and find a gap when others weren't taking a photo.

Oddly in this moment it felt like my tripod was invisible to everyone.

Basically I just had to go with the classic of asking a stranger to take a video of me.

So I just got some pictures at the famous street that everyone goes to and it's so busy

and it's still early early morning kia

these streets look exactly like what i expected italy to look like

and of course

when you're seeing it in person it almost feels like a dream all these little side streets

and hidden restaurants and then to have the cafes set up by the water.

Honestly, all we're missing here is someone busking out the front with those traditional Italian songs.

Now it was getting a little bit on with the time, so I needed to hightail it out of here.

And of course, in saying that, I mean drive very carefully.

Cause even though nothing happened on my trip, in this moment I was so grateful cause I needed to focus on driving,

not just freaking out about how much I'd owe if my mirror or something scrapes a wall.

Now don't even get me started on the parking, but luckily I really didn't have much time to spare anyway,

so I just had a quick look at this super cool park on the water's edge.

Of course I wish I could have spent more time here, and I feel like sometimes I get FOMO on what I could be doing in all these really cool places,

but I guess that's the beauty of having only 24 hours, you just gotta make the most with what you can.

I strategically did my makeup this morning, so all I had to do at the hotel was chuck on the red lipstick,

get changed and pick up my bags legs.

As you can imagine, I was pretty exhausted, so I was straight to bed, but I still managed to get up somewhat early to make some time to exercise.

As exciting as the Big Apple is, it's actually not my main priority for this trip.
