1
Hi my cutie patooties!
2
Welcome back to my channel or welcome to my channel.
3
My name is Tania and today I'm making this video
4
because I have lots of DMs from you guys wanting to know about cabin crew interviews and what you should do,
5
not do, say, not say and all that stuff.
6
I've been to two cabin crew interviews so far and I got through both of them.
7
It was really simple because I just understood what they were looking for.
8
So I'm here to share those tips with you so that you have an easy breezy time giving your interview.
9
Let's just get into the video.
10
Here are all the tips you need to ace your cabin crew interview.
11
Number one and so so so important that you understand this that there are thousands and
12
thousands of girls giving that particular cabin crew interview on
13
that day and there are thousand more the next day and thousand more the next day.
14
Now I'm not saying this to intimidate you, I'm saying this so that you understand this concept that you have to stand out.
15
Do understand that the person who's taking the interview has been taking these interviews for years
16
and they have met god knows how many individuals wanting
17
that position when I went to give my first ever cabin crew interview of course I was nervous
18
but I was vigilant trying to process everything
19
that was going on the first round in most companies is the introduction round
20
so there were two interviewers and 15 about 15 girls sitting
21
and I was towards the end so it started from that side and and they began their introduction and I,
22
kid you not, I was bored I was so bored so everybody was like My name is XYZ,
23
I'm from this place and I like singing and dancing the next person was like My name is XYZ,
24
I'm from this place, I too like singing and dancing next person My name is XYZ, I'm from this place, I like singing and dancing I went to this place for my schooling
25
and by the time 4-5 of them were done I was bored.
26
I don't know about the interviewers, but I was bored.
27
Imagine the person you're interviewing with is bored.
28
Imagine the interviewers.
29
You have to say things that make you stand out.
30
Even if, even if at that point your hobbies are singing and dancing and everybody's saying singing and dancing, please don't say singing and dancing.
31
Please.
32
By the time it was my turn, I said good morning everyone.
33
My name is Tanya Bedi.
34
I am from this place.
35
My hobbies are playing football, gaming and digital art.
36
And also fun fact about me, I am half Chinese half Punjabi.
37
Boom!
38
Instantly memorable instantly.
39
And the interviewers began to have a conversation with me
40
so please say something
41
that makes you stand out it doesn't even have to be
42
something extravagant you can just say I love baking desserts it's
43
one of my favorite things to do I love playing the
44
guitar I love playing the ukulele I love binge watching sci-fi shows something something different number two
45
and also very very important again try to step into the interviewer's shoes they've been taking these interviews for
46
so long they're kind of bored listening to you talk about you
47
so try to break the ice try to ask them some
48
questions it doesn't even have to be like a question question it can be a rhetorical question
49
but try to have a conversation with them why does an interview always have to be this okay
50
and what do you do and they'll answer and then they'll question
51
and then they'll answer and then they'll question no it doesn't have to be like
52
that especially not in a cabin crew interview your job is to make conversation with passengers
53
so if you go there confident and you sit
54
and you turn the interview questions into a conversation
55
that is going to be such a bonus for you just
56
involve them grab their focus okay sometimes they might just zone out
57
because they're like okay they're listening to this for the millionth time be like some say something
58
that will grab their attention something like okay my name is
59
Tanya I'm from Deiradoon have you been to Deiradoon it's actually quite a beautiful place
60
if you're a fan of the hill stations I totally recommend
61
that you go there something like that so if they weren't paying attention they are now.
62
Oh okay something different.
63
Okay this girl might ask me something again so I have to be attentive I have to listen to her.
64
The whole thing of being a cabin crew is being a very confident person somebody who's very confident in themselves
65
so you have to go to these interviews being confident like even
66
if you are not confident try to do something
67
that will make you more comfortable in the interview
68
or like Rihanna said What do you do on those days
69
that you don't feel that confident or fearless or powerful like you did out there?
70
Uh, pretend.
71
Fake it?
72
Yeah.
73
Until we make it?
74
I mean why not?
75
It's either that or cry myself to sleep.
76
Who wants to do that?
77
Just fake it.
78
Just fake your confidence.
79
Nobody there knows you.
80
Nobody knows if you're the shy little girl.
81
You can create an alter ego and just go there and be this confident person for me.
82
I am honestly somebody who was very very nervous for this interview when I went for the first time.
83
I knew that there would be a lot of people for the interview
84
but there were like thousands of girls in the waiting room.
85
The way I made myself comfortable was I went and I made a few friends.
86
Started talking to them, we went to grab a few snacks, we were nervous together and that made us confident.
87
And by the second interview I just faked it because by that time I knew the process, I knew everything, I knew the kind of questions they would ask me
88
and nobody there knew me so I went in and I faked my confidence.
89
You guys you have to open your mouth and talk.
90
It can be gibberish if you want it to be but just talk.
91
The whole point of why they're having these interviews is to see
92
if you are capable of having a one-on-one conversation with passengers, if you are quick on your feet
93
if you can just think of something to say even
94
when you have nothing to say
95
so guys you have to get out of your comfort zone
96
and talk now it doesn't necessarily even have to be the right answer
97
or anything there is usually no particular right answer to the questions asked at a cabin crew interview even
98
if they ask something like okay how many fleets do we have
99
and stuff like that or what is the difference between a full service airline
100
and a low cost airline and you are not aware
101
because you don't know anything about the airline community you don't
102
have to be like um no you can be confident
103
that you don't know the answer you can say i'm really sorry i i'm not sure
104
that i know about this however i will look it up
105
that is it you said something you were confident and you said
106
that you didn't know about it that is so much better than ahhh.
107
Be confident and be like I don't have enough information about this topic to state an opinion at the moment.
108
And that is it.
109
That is all you have to say.
110
And even though you didn't answer the question and give the right answer or whatever, they saw that you were confident enough to say that you didn't know it.
111
During the round of the group discussion, you are going to get a topic, a very easy topic.
112
Topics like they give to elementary school children this round you
113
have to talk you can talk whatever they want to see
114
that you are confidently making eye contact
115
and talking about it you can be talking gibberish about it
116
but just talk about it i remember i got the topic
117
public transport versus private transport these are very basic things you
118
can say whatever comes to your mind whatever comes to your mind These are very subjective, easy, fourth-grader topics.
119
So don't be nervous.
120
Nobody is looking at whether you're saying the right thing or not.
121
People are trying to see whether you can talk at any random topic at any given time.
122
Very major, very important part of any cabin crew interview is your grooming.
123
Your grooming and your basic hygiene have to be top notch.
124
Make sure you carry your comb, your makeup kit, your perfumes, carry mints, carry extra stockings,
125
whatever, whatever you think that are essential for the day of your interview.
126
Make sure that you are dressed in the dress code that they have provided for you.
127
You can go to their site and go to the cabin crew interview page
128
and see whether they've mentioned skirts or pants or stockings, shirt, bun, pony, whatever they mentioned.
129
Make sure you go according to that.
130
Make sure you stay away from really flashy colors like neon or magenta or something very striking to the eye.
131
Make sure you stay away from those because you want the interview's attention to be on what you're saying,
132
your personality rather than maybe really flashy nail paints or like a flashy top that you're wearing.
133
Try to stay away from negative statements.
134
It makes you come off as a somewhat arrogant and ungrateful person.
135
Try to frame all your sentences in a positive way.
136
So if you have something bad to say about your company, like they wouldn't promote me no matter what I did, no matter how hard I worked,
137
you could frame it like I'm at the point in my life where I'm looking for growth
138
and what better company to grow with than your company.
139
So that is what I mean by taking all your negative comments
140
and frame it into positive statements that make you come off as somebody very mature,
141
very grounded and the kind of employee that that company is looking for.
142
Sometimes when you're nervous without knowing it you tend to stammer on and on about one topic for a very long time.
143
So try to keep this in your mind that every answer just try to to keep it short.
144
If you start noticing that you have begun to like fumble with your answers or with your sentences, you can just end it there.
145
Keep some very basic sentences ready in your head.
146
Say those and just keep it short and to the point
147
so that you don't stammer and fumble and go on and on and make yourself more nervous than you already are.
148
So that is all for today.
149
I hope this video helped you guys.
150
If there's anything else that you want to know, do let me know in the comments and I hope that you apply these tips in your next interview.
151
So until next time, bye bye!
