1
I failed four years before I became profitable in trading.
2
Not only that, I actually failed 20 challenges before I got my first payout.
3
And one of the things is a lot of you guys
4
aren't willing to fail for a period of time to learn the lessons to become profitable in the trading craft.
5
And the maddest thing is, okay, yes, we want to be profitable.
6
Yes, you want to be profitable as fast as possible.
7
Yes, you want to make all the money in the world.
8
But that is not actually the end goal.
9
The end goal is actually being consistent.
10
The end goal is actually living the dream of retiring your family members.
11
The end goal is actually the true meaning of what money can provide.
12
It's not what money is to do, for example, buy the cars and the watches and all that.
13
I think, yes, of course, these materialistic things are great.
14
However, it's more about putting food on the table for our loved ones, letting our kids have a better life than we did when we were younger,
15
and more importantly, doing it by a trade or a trait
16
so a trade for trading right a skill set
17
or a profession where we generally love what we do
18
and we do what we love
19
and that's what we call true freedom doing what you want
20
when you want with who you want and how you want
21
that is true freedom that is my message from me to you
22
and in today's video what i want to talk about is
23
the whole journey of how i failed for four years before becoming profitable
24
and that each year was very different in failing and
25
that what did profitability really truly mean
26
and more importantly what stage are you at
27
and how can you relate to this and
28
if you are unprofitable in trading this video is for you to learn learn from my mistakes
29
and get there quicker and in this day
30
and age with you know youtube
31
and the content out there look you don't have to buy
32
every single course out there look you don't have to actually go
33
and take every single content out there
34
but there are videos like this giving you examples and experiences of
35
that individual for example me of all the things
36
that happened in those four years
37
so you can learn from them you can hear our experiences
38
and it's all for free
39
so without further ado let's get it what's happening guys Dan Chang here aka champ currently on a flight
40
and I wanted to make one of these videos
41
which we called the unfiltered series where we call it like a me to you
42
and it took me four years to become profitable as the title says
43
and what we said at the start of the video
44
but these four years was probably the hardest years of my life mentally to some degree
45
and I think that you guys can definitely understand this to some degree is
46
that you do everything in your power absolutely everything in your power
47
but you can't seem to get it right
48
and that's where trading is probably one of the most hardest
49
and most painfulest profession and what does that mean well it can be we can do
50
everything right but not get rewarded we can take an a plus setup
51
and still lose the trade which is insane
52
if you think about it whereas we have been taught from school from sports
53
and from competitiveness the more we put in
54
and the more effort we do we will get a result
55
we will win a game we'll be better we'll perform better ultimately the results will yield
56
but in trading it's the complete opposite
57
and it's one of the hardest subconscious things
58
that we have to train over a period of time is to accept
59
that we will do the best that we can and still lose money.
60
Now, let's talk about the first year.
61
The first year was probably one of the best times in trading
62
because that's when you make a little bit of money you learn
63
that oh my gosh like cool like this five pound can be made by just clicking a few buttons
64
you can literally just sit at home you get all of these buzz something new
65
and then you learn that was my first year i generally really enjoyed it
66
and you're learning the markets the fundamentals why they move how they move you make a lot of mistakes
67
and you learn from them you don't really journal
68
because I was just literally just trading finding new strategies
69
and more talking about more than new strategies I actually just tried to find ways
70
that works more and was more consistent
71
and more importantly I was actually finding different fundamental factors
72
that would move the market
73
that was my first year then I opened an account I
74
had like 500 pound in it I lost it in
75
that year but I kind of had a inclined feeling
76
that I would lose that 500 pound
77
but I used it as a learning curve you can see as I bought a course
78
but the course was me to me and I think
79
that that's probably one of the best investments you can make is to invest in yourself now the second
80
and third year was a bit rough now the second
81
and third year was rough
82
because this is where I generally saw the strategy work I saw my mentor have the strategy work as well
83
but more importantly I think that it was rough in the sense
84
that I couldn't make it work and that was so tough
85
And I find that a lot of people sit within this realm for X amount of time.
86
For me, it was around two and a bit years, realistically and truly, like being stuck in this rut.
87
And it would be things like, before prop firms were going about, I had a personal account, right?
88
So I'd put a £500, £1,000, or even sometimes even just £150 trying to make £5.
89
Didn't have a lot, but I was just trying to do what I can.
90
And essentially, doing this led me to not really see the bigger picture.
91
And I think that's probably one of the biggest problems with having a small account.
92
you're trying to turn 500 into a living you're trying to turn 500 pound
93
or a small account into a salary or even multiple figures where realistically even
94
if you do it's not sustainable now you can turn 500 pound into a hundred thousand
95
if you're on a win streak and you're lucky and you compound
96
and you know you get a huge movement but sustainable wise
97
and consistently you can't do that every day in the market and even if you do what happens is it then
98
ruins your expectation of trading
99
so realistically what you really want to be doing is actually
100
trading slowly a bit getting a consistent compound of winning on
101
that account and then adding money to it so that's probably something
102
that i would add to those people who are in
103
that you know second
104
and third year phase where they're constantly trying to increase the volume of their trade
105
and seeing a tiny bit of wins
106
but just keep going all over the place
107
and this is where i went wrong is
108
that i would make all these gains i would do three
109
two three months of you know really good five pounds ten pounds
110
and then I'd get overconfident and try and risk it all to try
111
and flip the account that I've turned 500 into say 2,000
112
or something to try and turn that 2,000 into 20,000
113
because you think you know it all you have the holy
114
grail you're trying to turn the account into something substantial then you start going on auto trader
115
and these websites just thinking all the things you can buy
116
because you kind of think you kind of figured it all out and I know, we've all been there.
117
So if you can shorten it, I'd give you some tips.
118
And some of these tips in
119
that circ in the third year is to number one journal
120
not only journal is to do more of what you're doing right
121
and less of what you're doing wrong I journal but on pen
122
and paper I wish I did a daily report card earlier I wish I did my to do this earlier
123
and I wish I had my playbook now another thing
124
that I considered which I did earlier as well was the fact
125
that I could compound my account add more money into it weekly
126
or I guess right now in one of the best things in the market is you have prop firm accounts.
127
Prop firm accounts, you can do 50,000.
128
For $500, you could buy a 100K account.
129
And if you have the skillset and you can compoundly do it over a period of time, you could literally get like a 10,000 to $20,000 payout, which is exactly where 20 challenges I failed.
130
I can't remember how much that costed me, but I did over 100K in payouts the following year after.
131
So that paid for all the challenges.
132
And even right now, this year, if you're following me, I've been doing this whole challenge of trying to get two, three million funded
133
and a million in payouts I spent three thousand to four
134
thousand dollars on my first stint I lost a lot of challenges
135
but now two payout have already covered all the cost of
136
that not only has that covered all the cost of
137
that now I'm in the net profit I'm just going to use
138
that money and funnel it into the personal account
139
and then what I want to do is get
140
that personal account audited for you guys to tease to set you guys an example
141
so in that second and third year you guys can basically really expedite
142
that by using prop firms they give you really
143
strict rules as well which I love
144
because in the personal account you don't have rules
145
if you break them there are no real percussions the only
146
repercussions you have is you just lose money whereas the repercussions in a prop firm account is you breach
147
and then you lose the sign up fee and all these other things
148
that come with it
149
and then you end up really thinking oh man I should really take this challenge more seriously
150
and that's exactly what happened to me so that's the second
151
and third year so the second and third year was the hardest years
152
because mentally you're going running in circles you have the strategy
153
you just can't make it profitable you're doing everything you think you're doing right
154
and you're still losing trades
155
but you can't accept losing them you can go until you make all of these psychological mistakes
156
and also you make a lot of these really deep mistakes
157
like sitting there just blowing the accounts like i remember just
158
the worst one was growing the account to three thousand pounds three thousand pound
159
that took me three months
160
and then in one day i blew it all i don't
161
care what anyone has to say on social media oh my
162
god he can't trade of course i couldn't trade i was still learning then
163
and everyone goes through that like why are we
164
so quick to bash on people and bash on people
165
when they're down this is part of the journey this is
166
part of the course this is part of the content in youtube
167
and why i love what i do and do what i love
168
and why a team you know it has grown so much
169
so we can create content right now to speak to people
170
like you who are watching who are really really feeling this message to understand
171
that you just need to keep going that is part of the process
172
but it's part of your path where God is teaching you to learn the skill that you've asked for.
173
Remember, if you ask God for a million pounds or a million dollars, he's not going to give you the money, boom, like that.
174
He's going to give you trials and tribulations
175
that you can overcome to have the skill set to be able to make that million dollars.
176
And listen, once you have that skill, you have it for life.
177
And that's one of the biggest things I say.
178
So I really generally want to say this as well, like someone today has just got their first funded account on Funded Next, but this is just one of many stories from our course.
179
And for £299, I don't care what anyone says, £299, that's less than a 100k challenge,
180
that is less than, blow in your account a hundredfold, but for £299, there is a condensed course that I've made, for 30 hours, my strategy,
181
everything, that teaches you A to Z, and now I'm not telling you you have to buy mine, but what I'm trying to tell you is you've got to shift your mindset to try and learn from these people, and learn from these mistakes,
182
and learn as fast as you can to get to the end goal as fast as you can
183
and you've got to be willing to do whatever it takes
184
and you've got to ask yourself what are you willing to do for
185
that how much are you willing to pay for that
186
and I just think it's obscene that nowadays
187
that people who's like I don't want to buy a course of course it's a scam
188
or something like
189
that well hold on the same people who think a course
190
is a scam are the people who think university is going to go
191
and make them a hundred thousand dollars how does
192
that even make sense anyway coming back onto that so the second
193
and third year that's where the struggle happened the fourth year was the revelation
194
and fourth year was the revelation of what i call the compound effect
195
and if you may or may not have seen i love talking about the compound effects
196
but i find that everyone has their breakthrough and
197
that breakthrough starts with something that just goes aha and clicks
198
and what that aha and clicked was was the compound effect
199
and what that said to me is
200
if i could literally just make five pounds
201
or five dollars a day for the whole year that's it five
202
and it doesn't matter if i win lose just five just move on five one trade
203
if it could be one win or two losses
204
and i'll do it in each session now i trade only one session
205
but back then i'll trade in two sessions if i can do that realistically
206
that is more than enough money another thing i thought to
207
myself is every day the market gives an opportunity yes
208
or no yes can i make five days in the markets every day
209
if i took you know
210
if i was lucky enough to take every single trade perfectly could i make five dollars yes or no
211
yes so that was the idea I had and I consistently did
212
that and yes they were losing days yes they were losing period
213
but I did it over a period of time more importantly over three months
214
that account grew and it really gave me the confidence
215
that was net positive to keep trading the fourth month was a losing month
216
but here's the best part
217
and this is where I generally constitute myself as profitable is
218
the fifth month was then profitable then the seventh month
219
and I had one more losing month
220
so in the whole year I had two losing months
221
and 10 winning months but I was net up overall
222
and that's how it's been ever since I've always had around two losing months throughout the whole year
223
and that's where profitability comes it's not about being profitable today
224
it's not about being profitable just for the week it's about being profitable in your career
225
and over in the long run
226
and everything you spent in the past you've made more money and
227
that is net up it's a business at the end of
228
the day it's the same thing how much money have you made how much money are you up by
229
and what is the pen cent increase and what is your skill increase
230
and what is you as a person as a human as a man increased
231
and has become so my final message to you is
232
that believe in yourself forget the haters use the haters as fuel
233
and i hope that this video really blows up to help a lot of people in
234
that struggling phase so they become the trader they said they would be
235
so trader to trader i believe in you make it happen
236
the struggle is what's going to make you not break you you make decision on
237
which one that comes so hope you guys enjoyed the video remember to like share subscribe champ out peace
