1
Why is confidence so attractive?
2
Why is confidence so irresistible?
3
The idea that an individual that you come across in the world knows a secret that you don't.
4
They know something.
5
There's a twinkle behind their eye that speaks to you, that makes you feel like they know something that you don't.
6
They're at ease in ways that you wish you were.
7
They have this groundedness.
8
They have this stability.
9
They have this emotional presence.
10
They fill the room with their sense of knowingness.
11
And you know, we come across these people in our lives, and we're inexplicably drawn to them.
12
It doesn't matter if it's sexual attraction or just an amicability, just somebody you want to be friends with.
13
But the desire to be near those
14
that project this kind of confidence has to do with wanting to drink the Kulig that they've drank,
15
to want to glimpse the supposed truth that they've been exposed to.
16
And it could be a false projection.
17
It could just be that these people are simply physically attractive, and the equanimity with which they move about the world seduces us into thinking
18
that they know the answers that somehow we don't.
19
And I don't know which is the case.
20
I don't know if they actually know those answers, or if they're just really good at lying about it.
21
But I've always, always, always been drawn to these people.
22
And it doesn't matter if they're eloquent professors, or movie stars, or just the coolest kid in school.
23
That confidence, that sense of knowingness that they bring forth is something that I've always been itching to acquire.
24
And there's certain moments in my life, certainly, when I feel tuned in and when I feel alert,
25
awake, and aware to some kind of deeper veracity, some deeper truth that fills me with joy, gratitude, and grace.
26
And during these moments, I taste a sliver of that confidence.
27
But it's not yet stabilized in my life.
28
I still collapse back into myself with all my fears and neuroses and doubts.
29
And the journey continues.
30
Anyway, those are my thoughts on confidence.
